Choice Scarf

I'd rather trick Specs to a physical attacker or Band to a special attacker (or to Chansey, since that's pretty insulting). Most Trick-scarfers can make use of their Scarf even if they don't Trick it away. Obviously if they gain a Scarf, what's stopping them from tricking it to someone else? The best use of Trick absorbing is simply to scout for Choice users. There's almost zero risk, and your opponent has revealed their secret (they'll either Trick you or get locked into an attack).
Are you kidding? Choice Band Chansey can fire off those devestating STAB Seismic Tosses.

i love using scarf metagross. trick catches so many off guard, and sometimes i can trick them twice, for example tricking a scarf for a sash and then tricking it to a wall to steal their lefties recovery.

Jirachi for example, was a prominent Scarf user in HGSS but now dropped in popularity probably thanks to Ferrothorn weakening it with IB damage and setting up hazards on it.

Jirachi was a good scarfer in HGSS, because it could renvenge some of the best sweepers in the metagame (Gyarados, Mence etc.) the only common thing it can revenge now is Terrakion so people use sets like SubCM and SDef Jirachi because they are much more effective in the current metagame.
It also still gets U-Turn and Fire Punch so Ferrothorn shouldn't be that much of a problem.

The biggest problem of scarfers are the dangerous set-up threats this gen. Things like Terrakion, Volcarona, DNite, Landlos and the rising Lucario and Salamence got lots of resistances/immunities they can use to set-up on and start a sweep, however Team Preview can help with that.

Ah the Choice Scarf. I hate it solely due to Scarf Terakion, who singularly kills my team. Excadrill was able to keep him in check, but with it gone, I need to do some team rebuilding.

Does Scarf Terakion usually run Adamant or Jolly? My Scarf Mienshao with Jolly can outspeed Adamant Scarf Terakion, and come in on Rock moves.

Scarf jirachi is still great in this metagame. It counters dragon dancers and is a decent counter to gengar and reuniculus (any pokemon with fighting and ghost/dark moves). I have tried a few trick users on my team like rotom and latios but it seems much easier to be able to pull it off with jirachi than anyone else. It is eaiser to trick pokemon with stat up moves when the trick user has some bulk like jirachi does. For example my only counter to scrafty on my team is to switch in jirachi and use trick on it. Then I can take care of it with my other pokemon.

The idea of set up threats countering choice scarfers works both ways. They can set up on you or you can switch into one while your opponent sets up. Then you can both outspeed him get a ohko.
