Choice Specs Lickilicky?

Ice Beam > Thunderbolt is definite, but u got to admit that t-bolt is pretty damn useful. I think I'd personally only pick explosion or a fighting move, especially on the specs set.

Thanks for the feedback you guys. I guess a mix-licki could probably work on a Trick Room team.

Lickilicky@ Life Orb?
Quiet
???
Ice Beam
T-bolt
Fire Blast
Explosion/Focus Punch?

Trick Room Life Orb Lickylicky:

Lickylicky (M) Life Orb
IV: 31/31/31/31/31/0
EV: 252 ATT / 252 SP ATT / 6 HP
Ability: Own Tempo
Quiet Nature (+SP ATT, -SPE)
- Hammer Arm
- Explosion
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast

EVs may need to be adjusted.

I cannot think of anything else.

Own Tempo because Confusion status is nore common that Attract.

^ If you're going to try that, definitely life orb. Just like it's ridiculous to bpass stats to choice users, it's not a good idea to go through all the trouble of setting up trick room, switching in licki just to have it walled and unable to change moves.

ie. switch-targets for a considerable amount of set up have to be able to change attacks.

What is so bad about setting up Trick Room for Lickylicky... it has a diverse movespool that can somewhat sweep a wide variety of OU Pokémon in a Trick Room enviornment. Trick Room for this is a must.

Can someone do a damage calculation of Hammer Arm and Focus Punch running of a Quiet Lickylicky with Life Orb?

I checked it out for blissey at least, but didn't think it was worth the loss in speed. Focus punch is sure fire, but when you have only a .5% chance of not killing, who cares? Hammer arm is still only 2hko (though can do around 80-something max).

Reason why I'm hesitant about trick room is because u ought to know that it runs out pretty quick when you're switching to a poke after setting it up. Set up, 1 turn gone. Switch, 2 turns gone (and likely the opponent smacked you good or set something good up, like substitute), 3 turns left to attack. Throw in risk of subs/protects/switches that out predict you. When Lick's looking to 2hko at best most of his targets, and when the opponent can predict boom much more easily by the last turn of TR . . .

There's just a lot that can go wrong. Divoting whole teams to it is a notable downside as well.

You could also use Expert Belt instead of Life Orb, if you want to go more defensive. You hit 11 types effectively using that blob's moveset suggested above... what was it? Clefairy? No... it can also explode... ermm... snorlax?

i actually have been using specslicky for months. i got one with almost perfect ivs, so i had to do something with its modest nature. =/

Mkay, my take on it:

Lickilicky@ Life Orb
Quiet
34 HP / 224 Atk / 252 Satk
-Hammer Arm / Explosion
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Fire Blast

The thing is though, unless you run the Choice Specs, many of the otherwise OHKOs fall short and into 2HKO territory. Observe:

Fire Blast
Metagross(252 Hp, neutral nature) 81.59% - 96.15%

Skarmory(252 Hp, neutral nature) 108.98% - 128.14%

Forretress(252 Hp, neutral nature) 231.64% - 272.60%

Tangrowth(252 Hp, neutral nature) 116.34% - 136.63%

Weezing(252 Hp, neutral nature) 54.49% - 64.07%

Gengar(4 hp, neutral nature) 65.65% - 77.48%

Mismagius(252 Hp, 196 Sp.def, + nature) 30.86% - 36.11%

Dusknoir(252 Hp, 180 Sp.def, neutral nature) 31.29% - 37.07%

Cressilia(252 Hp, 252 Sp.def, + nature) 18.47% - 21.85%

Bronzong(252 Hp, 98 Sp.def, + nature) 59.76% - 70.12%

Metagross is no longer an OHKO (without SR), Cressy and the ghosts are even more impossible to hit, but everything else is still an OHKO or 2HKO.

Thunderbolt

Gyarados(212 Hp, neutral nature) 112.76% - 132.81%

Skarmory(252 Hp, neutral nature) 86.53% - 101.80% Use Fire Blast

Milotic(252 Hp, neutral nature) 45.69% - 53.55%

Slowbro(212 Hp, neutral nature) 67.71% - 79.69%

Slowking(212 HP, 252 Sp.def, + nature) 47.66% - 55.99%

Changes here are that you must now use Fire Blast to guarantee OHKO Skarmory since T-Bolt could fall short. Slowking and Milotic also turn into possible 3HKOs. But overall, still not too bad.

Ice Beam

Salamence(120 Hp, neutral nature) 144.04% - 169.53%

Garchomp(32 Sp.def, neutral nature) 133.61% - 157.14%

Dragonite(252 Hp, neutral nature) 112.18% - 132.12%

Hippowdon(252 Hp, neutral nature) 67.38% - 79.29%

Zapdos(252 Hp, 252 Sp.def, + nature) 43.75% - 51.56%

Cradily(252 Hp, 92 Sp.def, neutral nature) 50.00% - 58.78%

Hippo turns into a 2HKO, Zappy and Cradily into probable 3HKOs. Dragons still die though, which is good.

Hammer Arm
Blissey(148 Hp, 252 Def, + nature) 55.09% - 64.68%
(252 Hp, 252 Def, + nature) 53.08% - 62.32%

Regice(252 Hp, 252 Def, neutral nature) 45.88% - 54.12%
(252 Hp, 252 Def, + nature) 42.03% - 49.45%

Tyranitar(252 Hp, neutral nature) 96.29% - 113.12% (will not OHKO, even with 252 EVs)

Snorlax(220 Hp, 252 Sp.def, neutral nature) 54.65% - 64.34%

Hammer Arm is the clear winner here imo. 2HKO on Snorlax, possible OHKO on T-tar (guaranteed with SR?), 2HKO on Blissey and possibly Regice (with SR) makes this the superior move over Focus Blast.

So overall, I personally think the Life Orb idea is by far more versatile. However, Specs with Hammer Arm and an Atk neutral nature will still yield the same results for Hammer Arm calculations and turn the other 2-3HKOs back into OHKO and 2HKOs for the special attacks.

That seems somewhat more worthwhile, though it's a shame Life Orb will reduce Lickilicky's life span; one of it's major drawcards, at least in my eyes, is the fact that it's bulky enough to take a few hits while it dishes out damage.

Still, the versatility is definitely a bonus, and worth considering I guess.

I thought i was the only one using special moves on Lickilicky:nerd:except my Lickilicky was mixed, something like that:

Lickilicky@Life Orb
252atk,252sp.atk,6hp

Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Earthquake
Explosion

Ice Beam+Thunderbolt+Earthquake=no resists at all(except Shedinja),explosion when done the job.

^...

Thank you Shinryuu for the damage calculations...

It happens to be that Choce Specs and is a decent option so that many 2HKOs and 3HKOs are lowered to 2HKOs and OHKOs... Expert Belt can be used if you have Spikes Support and you do not want to get too much recoil...

Explosion should be used more often on the Life Orb set rather than the Expert Belt set due to Explosion not being able to hit anything super effective, whereas Expert Belt can be used to do more damage to Weavile, Tyranitar, Blissey, and Heatran without the cost of HP.

Note about Cradily: Since Cradily is used mostly is Sandstorm teams it will get that massive Special Defense boost thus making Ice Beam a possible 4HKO if using Leftovers and Cradily will Recover anyways, Hammer Arming Cradily will probably be more worthwhile that Ice Beaming it if it is in a Sandstorm...

^
Expert belt only getsa 20% boost . . . ie, it's big enough to consider, puny compared to specs though.

Is metalkid's calculator wrong for weather? The calcs I'm getting for Crasily are the same w/ or w/o sandstream which obviously must be wrong . . .

Focus Punch over Focus Blast with 4 atk EV's and CSpecs provide a OHKO on blissey assuming my calc's are correct. Blissey is likely to try and setup on your the first turn anyways since standard blisseys don't run a fighting attack o.0

I had the same problem, just use +1 defense
