Classic RMT request.

Hello, well to be completely honest, I have created this team with some thinking behind it but I think it can be exponentially improved. I have been reading through some of the threads here on this forum as a guest and like the way the experts here handle the RMTs, so I decided to post one myself.
*deep breath in* well here it goes...

In-depth discussion
180px-142Aerodactyl.png

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
Pressure
Jolly
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe

Moveset:
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Stealth Rock
Taunt

This is your basic lead Aerodactyl. With a maxed out base 130 speed, Ninjask and Electrode are the only things faster than it in the OU tier. Depending on the lead, you either start out with a Taunt, Stealth Rock, or an attack. If you start with Taunt, no matter what the opponent does, short of a priority attack, you will always get off a Stealth Rock. Furthermore, if Aerodactyl is not dead after it has done its job, it makes a good attacker because of the STAB Rock Slide which has a 30% flinch rate.

220px-260Swampert.png

Swampert @ Leftovers
Torrent
Impish
240 HP/52 Atk/216 Defense

Moveset:
Avalanche
Earthquake
Rest
Stone Edge

The basic attacking Swampert. This thing has saved me many times with its type coverage, and mainly its Avalanche. STAB Earthquake helps with nuisances such as Jolteon and Scizor. Stone Edge is there for Salamence and other occasional flying type pokémon. Rest is a good way to keep him alive during clutch times but hasn't really been used often since many threats can take him out in two to three hits.

210px-145Zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Life Orb
Pressure
Timid
4 HP/252 Spe/252 Sp. Atk

Moveset:
Heat Wave
Hidden Power Ice
Roost
Thunderbolt

This pokémon, if used correctly, can help take out two to three opposing pokémon. I try to switch into Scizor because of Zapdos' key resistances and its ability to OHKO (most of the time) with Heat Wave. I then proceed use it to attack any pokémon that enters the arena. Because of its move coverage, there are only a few pokémon that actually resist all three moves. Most opponents expect a Hidden Power Grass and switch in a dragon of some sort, but Hidden Power Ice puts them in their places. Roost also makes for a great recovery as well as a good stall move because of the ability to relieve itself of its flying type.

130px-212Scizor.png

Scizor @ Life Orb
Technician
Adamant
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe

Moveset:
Brick Break
Bug Bite
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance

This is my physical sweeper. If I switch in on one of its nine resistances and can set up a Swords Dance either expecting a switch or making sure I can live through an attack or two, I can usually take a sizable chunk out of the opponent's team. It is also a great counter to Blissey and can usually stand up to most OU pokémon because of its ability. In addition, it helps balance my team's resistances and provide the ability to cover pokémon like Blissey who would otherwise be a challenge.

200px-380Latias.png

Latias @ Leftovers
Levitate
Timid
4 HP/252 Spe/252 Sp. Atk

Moveset:
Calm Mind
Dragon Pulse
Recover
Surf

My special sweeper if it gets the chance. This thing works wonders considering the OU tier doesn't have too many pokémon resistant to both Surf and Dragon Pulse. I can switch into a special attacker, minus the occasional Dark pulser or Shadow Ball, because of its 130 Sp. Def base stat and calm mind up. After a Calm Mind or two, I usually try and play it safe if I can and use a Recover if it has taken enough damage and then attempt sweep anything in its path except a Blissey every once in a while.

150px-242Blissey.png

Blissey @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
Calm
24 HP/252 Defense/232 Sp. Defense

Moveset:
Protect
Seismic Toss
Toxic
Wish

This is my amazing wall. Most games I never have to bring this out, but if I do have to, it usually comes out to a special attacker of some sort and stalls the hell out of it. Toxic/Wish/Protect combo ensures that a special attacker will most always die (Unless they are a Gengar with Focus Blast which causes problems). Wish helps if I feel I can pass it to another dying team member. Seismic Toss is your basic attack move considering Blissey can only inflict damage indirectly otherwise.

Well, to really sum it all up, here is my team that I've been battling with for a little bit of time. It could use some adjustments, and if anyone thinks that another pokémon would go better with this team rather than the ones I have in place, by all means, it's not "'till death do us part." I would really love some opinions on this team and any criticism that comes with it. Also, one more thing, I tend to have problems with pokémon such as Machamp and Gengar, any remedies?

Changes

None yet :(

Me suggest Changing the Latias into a CM+Sub Latias :D

Latias@Leftovers
Calm
Throw in a 100 evs in SpDEF and SpAttack and the rest to HP and Speed and your good to go! Maybe 192 on Speed, just to outspeeed most of slower OU pokemon.

Calm Mind
Dragon Pulse
Subsitute
Thunderbolt

Once it gets behind a sub with atleast 1 CM, its GG hahaha
I have swept whole teams using this Latias set with no casualties on my side at all.
Come in againts an Infernape or something like that and you can set up and sweep! :D

Hi.

I don't think you should be using Blissey on an offensive team like this one. All it does is slow down your offensive momentum. While Blissey is certainly an excelent Pokemon, it certainly doesn't fit your team, it can wall a lot of things of course, but it cannot do anything back which means that things like CM Jirachi and CroCune will be very hard to stop. It is also a setup fodder to so many threats such as Taunt Gyarados and SD Lucario that you are weak to. Instead of Blissey, I am going to reccomend using a Pokemon with similar typing, that counters special attackers as well, except it hits back hard and is a safe way to counter CM Jirachi and explodes against CroCune. Snorlax is the one I am talking about. Here's the set:

Snorlax @ Leftovers | Thick Fat
Adamant | 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpDef
Return | Earthquake | Crunch | Selfdestruct / Fire Punch

The only downside of removing Blissey was the loss of Wish support. However, 4/6 of your team have access to recovery moves of their own, that's why I would suggest running Roost on Scizo over Bug Bite so that LO damage doesn't wear it down quickly since it checks so many threats.

This team cannot take on threats like Scizor and SD Lucario. Nothing can switch-into Scizor's U-Turn without taking any risk. Zapdos' SR weakness and his offensive EV spread means that it cannot take a CB U-Turn. So, in order to take on those two threats, mainly Scizor since Lucario can't really set-up, a simple fix to this problem would changing Zapdos' item to Leftovers and use the following EV spread: 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe which allow Timid Zapdos to check all Lucario by outspeeding Jolly max speed Lucario and hitting it with Heat Wave and not being 2HKOed by a +2 Extreme Speed even after SD damage. The bulk also means that you are able to switch-into Scizor with no fear. Also, I'd like to point out that this team has a tough time getting past Swampert, that's why I really think that HP Grass over HP Ice is necessary. HP Ice isn't really useful because Salamence outspeeds, and Gliscor is easily handled by your own Swampert.

Now, DD Gyarados massacres your team. It can set-up on Swampert thanks to Intimidate since it is physically oriented or when it is asleep, Scizor is also a set-up fodder since it's whole movest is walled. After a DD, it can sweep without much retaliation and everything on your team is handled by the appropriate move. So, without resorting to more complicated changes, I simply suggest changing your offensive CM Latias to a defensive CM Latias with Thunderbolt to check Gyarados. This change won't make you lose anything since it is still using CM, and the loss of Surf is insignificant since Heatran is now countered by Snorlax and Infernape cannot do anything to Latias. Here's the set:

Latias @ Leftovers | Levitate
Timid | 252 HP / 4 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Dragon Pulse | Calm Mind | Thunderbolt | Recover

There is only one more change I'd like to make and that is to make Swampert a MixPert instead of a physically oriented Swampert. It may seem better to focus on one side of the attacking spectrum but MixPert is much more effective since Surf hits bulky Grounds like Hippowdon and Gliscor much harder since they focus more on defense. Also, Ice Beam hits Salamence harder as well, since Salamence has Intimidate to lower your attack and usually use a -SpDef nature. Also, your team cannot take on Bulky Mence if you don't go with a MixPert for that reason. So, use this:

Swampert @ Leftovers | Torrent
Relaxed | 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpAtk
Ice Beam | Earthquake | Surf | Roar / Protect

Here's my rate summarized:
  • Replace Blissey => Snorlax
  • On Scizor, Bug Bite => Roost
  • On Zapdos, LO => Leftovers; change the EV Spread to the one I suggested; HP Ice => HP Grass
  • Offensive CM Latias => Defensive CM Latias with Thunderbolt
  • Physical Swampert => MixPert
Trust me, take what I said into consideration, I feel like it will improve your team a significantly. Good Luck.

Thank you for the feedback. I will test out these changes and report back (I was going to replace Blissey anyway). However, I am curious as to the "radical changes" you mentioned Nosferalto because I still believe a well equipped Gengar can sweep my team.

I really don't see how Gengar can be a threat as Scizor can Bullet Punch, Snorlax can take a Focus Blast and OHKO with Crunch, Zapdos can take a Shadow Ball and retaliate with STAB Thunderbolt. Even Latias, after a couple of Calm Minds can take it on.

A Gengar with Substitute maybe?

It won't 6-0 your team or anything, but if you feel like you just can't play around it, you can give Blissey an attack over Protect and change Wish to Softboiled. Do you really need Wish when all your team members can heal themselves except for your suicide lead and Scizor? I find the bulky SD Scizor with roost more effective anyways.

Also just saying, Swampert only takes a little more than 50% from a 252 Atk Adamant Life Orb Waterfall (Jolly won't even 2HKO), so Swampert is a great Gyarados counter. They'll always stay in assuming it will Roar them out and just attack it, or even better, Taunt it.
