:sm/malamar:
Name of the Pokemon: Malamar
Role(s): Z-Move User, Late-Game Cleaner, Special Wallbreaker
Type:
|

Abilities: Contrary / Suction Cups / Analytic
Stat Distribution: 86/60/78/100/75/73
Movepool Additions: Flash Cannon
Justification: A Sluggish user of Z-Happy Hour to take down Dragalge with ease. It unfortunately loses to another Special Wall, Umbreon. Contrary helps when switching into a move that could potentially drop a stat that Malamar can lose, while Analytic can be used for anything that switches in / uses a priority move such as Sucker Punch or Shadow Sneak.
Spooktune wins with malamar.

Additionally, there is a tiebreaker vote between Leonard and Demon Dragon for the physical one.
I personally vote for myself, Leonard, because there aren't any real sweepers at the moment outside of Pupitar and I feel like we have wallbreakers covered

I second G-Luke’s vote. It’s about time we have a physical Fire / Electric mon in this meta and Purugly needs to be put in its place.

Purugly would need to run Sucker and a boosting item to get through Rotom, and Rotom can still one shot with steelworker STAB given you run colbur or some other tech to get around it. I feel Demon Dragon’s Victini will just add to the host of slowish offensive mons that Purugly feasts on virtue of speed alone (some rock damage, recoil chip, and it’s falling to a Tantrum or Knock)

Pokemon: Rotom-Mow
Role: Setup Sweeper, Wallbreaker, Hazard Control
Type:

Abilities:
Rough Skin / Chlorophyll | Steelworker
Stats: 50 / 105 / 107 / 50 / 107 / 86 (505 BST)
Movepool Additions: Psychic Fangs, Leaf Blade, Iron Head, Rapid Spin, Shift Gear
Movepool Removals: Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, Discharge, Thunder, Will-O-Wisp, Defog
Justification: A straightforward set-up sweeper that can beat most Purugly sets with Steelworker Iron Head but loses to Galvantula. As a physical attacker it easily punches through Crobat but isn't as solid against Torterra (but Torterra can't do much back). Ludicolo obviously beats it with investment, and Heracross is a safe answer. Also loses to the GOAT First Impression Farfetched
We have another Rotom, ladies and gentlemen.

So an important question came up in discord: are we supposed to have Species Clause apply for different Rotom forms ( only one Rotom per team ) or should each form be treated as a different species? I assume it's the latter, and there isn't some great balance or game design reason for them to be mutually exclusive on a team ( they aren't exactly megas ). I disabled Species Clause for the time being, but we should probably make a decision on this. ( also rotom-mow is live )

Hey, when will the next slate be started? And are you open with including more council members?
There's not a particular need for more council members, but if someone is interested+involved enough and wants to join maybe.

Last slate will be when we determine what the meta needs. Feel free to help playtest

Stat Distribution: 75/60/105/60/105/65
Movepool Additions: Moonblast, Defog
Movepool Removals: Psychic, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt

:sm/meloetta-pirouette:
Name of the Pokemon: Meloetta-Pirouette

Abilities: Refrigerate
Stat Distribution: 75/115/60/115/60/115
Movepool Additions: Moonblast, Defog
Movepool Removals: Psychic, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt

Justification: A Form changing Pokemon who is able to bend it's playstyle at will, but at the cost of having to use a set that has both defensive moves and offensive ones. It's offensive side offers a boosted Relic Song and Fighting + Ice dual STAB with a pivot option in U-Turn. However, it's defensive side is able to resist both Dark and Fire types, meaning that it can take on Ninetales and Purugly with ease, while it offensive side, can take on the likes of Pupitar, and offers hazard removal, while both forms are neutral to Stealth Rock. Both Forms have HEAVY 4MSS.

Name of the Pokemon: Wailord
Role(s): Defensive Wall, Wish Passer, Fire Resist (+1 vote), Ground Immunity (+1 vote)
Type: Water / Flying
Abilities: Oblivious / Pressure
Stats: 140 HP / 65 Atk / 70 Def / 88 SpA / 82 SpD / 55 Spe (BST 500)
Movepool Additions: Wish, Air Slash, Roost, Defog, H U R R I C A N E
Justification: Stall teams need a Wish passer, so here comes Wailord and saviour. Water / Flying is an interesting defensive typing which allows it to wall various threats in the tier, such as Ninetales, non Stone Edge Dugtrio, Heracross and Ludicolo. Its massive electric weakness and rather passive nature however is probably its biggest downfall.

Name of the Pokemon: Lunatone
Role(s): Mixed Wall, Fire Resist, Ground Imunity, Stealth Rock, Cleric
Type:

Abilities: Levitate
Stat Distribution: 90/50/90/85/105/70 | 490
Movepool Additions: Heal Bell
Movepool Removals: Calm Mind, Rock Polish
Justification:
+: Can handle very strong offensive threats such as Ninetales, Purugly and Pupitar, incredible bulk, pairs very well with Drought Torterra which makes a great defensive core and boosts its Moonlight, Stealth Rock setter, great offensive power
-: Steel weakness which makes it unable to deal with Malamar, Magearna, Null and Dugtrio, unable to deal with Ludicolo, Moonlight is far from the best recovery.
Defensive
Lunatone @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Moonlight
- Moonblast
- Earth Power / Power Gem / Heal Bell

Name of the Pokemon: Tentacruel
Role(s): Mixed Wall, Rapid Spin,
Type:

Abilities:
Levitate
Stat Distribution: 65 / 85 / 105 / 75 / 105 / 50 | 485
Movepool Additions: Pain Split, Liquidation
Movepool Removals: Toxic Spikes,
Justification: A terrific set of resistances makes this Tentacruel an easy utility counter to top threats like Purugly, Pupitar, Ninetales, and Ludicolo. It also provides a defensive spinner to the tier. Its STABs are somewhat difficult to deal with, but the offenses are low enough that it should be managable, and its recovery is limited to Pain Split. Although it's similar to Dragalge and Rotom-W, it has less utility and more overall defensive matchups.

Pokemon: Rotom-Heat(+2 Votes)
Roles: Defensive Pivot, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Control, Wallbreaker, Choice Scarf, Choice Specs
Type:

Abilities:
Levitate / Poison Touch | Trace
Stat Distribution: 50 / 105 / 97 / 50 / 117 / 86 (505 BST)
Movepool Additions: Fire Punch, Flare Blitz, Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, U-Turn, Rapid Spin, Clear Smog, Purify
Movepool Removals: Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, Thunder
Justification: Hey look, another rotom! But for real this rotom does some nice stuff, mainly resisting both ground and fire (doesn't beat Pupitar though but there's other ways to handle that) while also being able to remove hazards. Pretty good offensive presence too, so it's overall a solid mon to cover common weaknesses. Levitate is obviously the best option but trace shenanigans are maybe possible. Probably not with how great losing a 4x weakness is but I want the option to be there regardless.

Name of the Pokemon: Golem-Alola
Roles: Defensive Pivot, Hazard Setter, Offensive Pivot?
Type:
/

Abilities: Lightning Rod / Sand Veil / Levitate
Stat Distribution: 94 / 65 / 120 / 95 / 95 / 71 (540 BST)
Movepool Additions: Power Gem, Parabolic Charge
Movepool Removals: Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Focus Blast
Custom Elements: Parabolic Charge is now 75 BP.
Description: This is the first you'll ever hear of this, a defensive Rock-type! Thanks to this pokemon's resistances, bulk and Levitate, along with its typing, it can check threats like Galvantula, Dugtrio, Pupitar, Kyurem, and most notably Ninetales. This in turn allows it to set hazards against almost a half of the meta. However, its typing still has notable weaknesses to other threats like Rotom-Mow, Ludicolo, Farfetch'd, and Rotom-Wash, though smart playing can defeat the latter. It is also somewhat slow as well, leaving it weak to faster threats like Malamar after set-up, offensive Ludicolo, and Mowtom.

Interesting submission, but I'd recommend making Pirouette faster, around 110 I think (or enough to outspeed Galv. You could bump it up to 110 on the 105 stats which would give it more viability as it feels just a bit too slow+weak, as it can't really use choice items nor set up. Base meloetta is likely outclassed defensively by Rotom Wash but as a way for Pirouette to hit hard while mindgaming it seems functional enough. Also, I think keeping Focus Blast is ok, Fighting isn't a particularly great STAB and Aura Sphere just blows. Flying/Water could also be a cool (albeit lore weak) typing for base so it can have a more defined defensive niche compared to Rotom Wash, but it's up to you.

No comment outside of give him Hurricane because Air Slash is pure ass and Hurricane gives it actual offensive presence against stuff like Ludicolo.

I'd keep swords dance personally, gives it more set diversity and it lacks any real punish option at the moment with Tspikes removed.

First time we've ever heard of a defensive rock-type? The best pokemon in OG Clean Slate is a defensive rock-type! Regardless yeah this seems good, if maybe a little too bulky, but we'd have to see. Rather not preemptively nerf.
