My suggestion: "Fuego Mortis" Fuego=fire, Mortis=death. Mortis is similar to Moltres, and Fuego Mortis is similar to Algor Mortis, a term that means the cooling of a body after death. Fuego Mortis can be considered the opposite of Algor Mortis.

In Slavic folklore, I like the Hungarian 'Tűzmadár' or 'Firebird'; "a magical glowing bird from a faraway land, which is both a blessing and a bringer of doom to its captor".

Even better perhaps (in my opinion) would be likening Moltres to the 'Vermilion Bird'; "It is described as a red bird that resembles a pheasant with a five-colored plumage and is perpetually covered in flames".

From here you have your choice of 'Zhue Que' (Chinese) or 'Suzaku' (Japanese). If you want to get fancy, 'Zhue Que San' (in keeping with the Uno / Dos / Tres theme; 'San' being the number three in chinese)

Note: If you ever watched Beyblades as a kid, the bit-beast 'Dranzer' was modeled after the Vermilion Bird; I always thought it and Moltres shared great similarities.

I'd name moltres Fry because of how yummy fried foods are and because moltres colors reminds me of the hair color of Fry from Futurama. That and it's a flaming chicken wing. But I love the original names so I would stick with moltres.

If we are going to go with a Simpson's pet theme then I would suggest Smoky or Snowball V.

I think a god nick name for moltres can be Fire Life, or Life Fire, because the fire is symbol of love, hate, strenght, determination, and in one word, the symbol of the life. in the pokemon anime, te flame of moltres was used to start the tournament league, and is used to symbolizing the trainer's passion.

Well... here we go...

I've decided that my Moltres shall be known as "Stravinsky", which means that azureleaf17 is the winner! Congratulations! =)

I wanted a name that would sound good next to "Coltrane" the Articuno (no... not "Coal-train" lol). Stravinsky and Coltrane were both names of famous musicians.
I also do remember "The Firebird" from Disney's Fantasia and Kollektiv Turmstrasse's "Tristesse" music video, which I both like, so there's that.

Let me know when you can receive your copy of "Stravinsky", azureleaf17. ^^
