Yeah but Big Root and Fairy Plate are terrible.
I don't understand Big Root: Does it buff like Absorb, Draining Kiss in basepower or not? As far as I read it seems to only buff the HP healed back from the moves.

It only increases the amount healed, but it applies to Leech Seed as well as draining attacks (it also buffs Ingrain and Aqua Ring, but Comfey doesn't get those). It is less consistent than Leftovers, but it has the potential to heal more. On most mons, Leftovers are much better, but since Comfey's health is so low, and her main focus is draining moves, Big Root is actually a valid option for her.
Depends on your set. As I see, if you run Draining Kiss/Leech Seed, then Big Root will help you more. But not all sets will be consistenly healing every single turn (like Calm Mind, Taunt/Aromatherapy, Dazzling Gleam), so for those Leftovers will heal more consistenly while you do something else or you have a more reliable recover when you need (Synthesis).
May I ask why doing calcs with Moonblast when its an illegal move on Comfey? Dazzling Gleam is its best special STAB.

Draining Kiss is somehow not on the calculator so we are using a 50 BP Moonblast on its place.
I didn't know so few people would choose the set is did.

I know, doesn't have a single attacking move, but with grassy terain up, floral healing heals about 70% health or so. Draining kiss could be used a an attacking move that gets priority. Since it can be terribly crippled by a taunt (especially if it has aromatherapy and not draining kiss) I gave it a mental herb.

I'm pretty sure it's because Comfey can't use Floral Healing on itself. It just ends up healing the opponent. Maybe it would work in doubles, but not in Singles. Also, if you're not running Draining Kiss then there isn't much point in having Triage as an ability, you should slash Natural Cure on the set.
It's certainly a doubles set because both Synthesis and Floral Healing at the same time heals yourself and allies. Triage is still superior because it gives priority to Synthesis and Floral Healing.

I don't understand this set at all? What role is it filling? An aromatherapy cleric?
I'm not sure if it's worth running the grassy terrain when you can just bring a Tapu Bulu for a free setup. I'd probably drop it for something else supportive like helping hand/after you if this is for doubles.
What about Heal Block? If Heal Block is used, is Comfey useless?Edit: I know about Taunt, yes, but what if? If Comfey gets outsped? Me First?
If Big Root wasn't viable on Whimsicott, it won't be viable on Comfey.
In Gen 6, Heal Block was a semi-gimmick used by Pokemon that were desperate to get past Chansey and/or Clefable. It probably won't be worth worrying about in Gen 7.

So here's a set I use for my Comfey, I swap out Calm Mind for Wrap sometimes to go for double trouble on slow damage or if an opponent can't be seeded.

Root heals more when you are doing significant damage with Draining Kiss. Draining Kiss needs to do about 80 damage to match Leftovers healing while in reality you have to deal significantly more to average out more healing. Leftovers heals every turn while Root only does in specific situations. If you're talking about using Leech Seed then you'd better be seeding something like a Blissey if you want to get more HP back than Leftovers would give.
Leftovers heals more when switching in or otherwise doing literally anything at any moment. It will heal more than Root in pretty much any game you will ever play.
Big Root keeps getting mentioned in this thread. Do not use it, it's a terrible item.
I have been thinking of using Comfey in a future team, and noticed that it does get Grassy Terrain, and Z-grassy terrain raises its defense by 1. May be a decent option. Plus it also gets Trick room...

Only counter I see is Tapu Lele setting up Psychic Terrain, unless it doesn't stop priority non damaging attacks. As for the Z move, Giving yourself a Plus 1 Defense would help make her more tanky. I could replace it with Pixie plate or something else. Z Aromatherapy does fully heal itself if you go that move over floral healing

According to the research thread: "Psychic Terrain blocks priority status and damaging moves on a grounded target. Self-targetting status moves like Calm Mind are not blocked along with field effects like Tailwind."
Assuming my understanding is correct, if you use Floral Healing on an ally with Triage Priority, it will fail unless they are flying, levitate, etc. But I suppose if you're running the Grassy Terrain you can negate their Psychic terrain.
Ok thats what I was wondering. If a Psychic Terrain is on the feild, you can use a priority Grassy Terrain to quickly and instantly remove it.

according to bulbapedia grassy terrain gets priority with triage
Bulbapedia says "Triage increases the priority of HP-restoring moves used by the Pokémon with this Ability by 3, including both damaging moves and status moves." The in-game description also cites that it gives priority to healing moves. Although grassy terrain sets up potential healing it doesn't directly restore HP so it doesn't get the priority boost.

I use it as a stallmon and a special wall. The priority synthesis is really useful because it lets you heal enough to survive before you get hit, while letting leech seed do its thing, and priority draining kiss lets it kill pheromosa 1v1. Although I'm considering replacing aromatherapy with taunt.
Ah Ok. its just that when I clicked the link that said what was an HP restoritive move, they listed Grassy terrain there, and Bulbepieda did say some moves didn't work like pain split, but didn't mention grassy terrain.
So would a set with both grassy Terrain and Trick room not be too good?
