Can't switch into either Thundurus or Heracross if it hasn't mega evolved, but it can OHKO both members of the core, though it will usually get parad by Thundurus.

mega absol while a very uncommon mon in ou is capable of outspeeding and removing both mons of this core with the combination of knock off+play rough. Mega hera dies to a playrough after a bit of prior damage (rocks+spikes or chip damage) or once mega absol gets a sd off which allows it to ohko both mons. Thundy also dies to knock off with rocks up or once thundy has taken lo recoil.


Guess its a shaky mon that beats this core but it definetly can beat this core

Thundurus checks flying types and beats certain grounds like Lando-T that can be annoying for Heracross. It also spams T-Wave on things like Latias which lets Heracross attack much more freely. Good Cores post

YES. Thank you guys, I really like using Mega Heracross, and I actually use this core in competitive play. I can't wait to find out what stuff I could use with this set.

Mega audino? Wait, that pokemon exists? Audino avoids 2hko from thundy tbolt and from mega heracross even if it is adamant! doesn't matter as it doesn't exist. Audino has access to heal bell to counter thundurus' useful t wave spam

Okay, I have the perfect one: Heatran. Heatran resists all of Heracross's weaknesses, as well as the Ice-types that give Thundurus trouble. In return, Heracross resists the Ground-types and Fighting-types that threaten Heatran, and Thundurus hits Water-types super effectively. Heatran is the perfect defensive partner for this core.

Choice Scarf Keldeo is an excellent partner for the posted core. Thanks to Choice Scarf, it can KO nearly every threat to the core, including Mega Manectric, +1 Timid Volcarona, and Mega Diancie.

Jirachi, is an excellent partner for the duo. Jirachi(especially scarf version) can come in on the fairies with ease and either trick them or iron head them. As heracross or thundurus get warn down or statused jirachi can come and healing wish them back to health. Jirachi is an excellent offensive partner.

Scizor @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

This core screams for steel types. Fairy types, Ice types (Weavile / KyuB) and Dragon typs give this core a lot of problems and even though most steel types attract the already dangerous fire types (bludz you should definitely pick Heatran for top 3 partners) they help a lot in dealing with stuff like Weavile and Clefable. I picked Scizor over Klefki or Skarmory because of U-Turn, which gives this core the much needed momentum. Skarmory was just too passive for this offensive core and it makes the fire type problem even bigger because it gives every fire type ever a free switch in. Scizor deals with bulky mega altaria, clefable, weavile, latios and kyurem-b and also removes hazards so Thundurus and Heracross aren't worn down too quickly.

Heatran with Flash Fire resists all of Mega Heracross's weaknesses, as well as the Ice-types that give Thundurus trouble. In return, Heracross resists Fighting- and Ground-type moves, while Thundurus can KO Water-types.

EDIT: This set made the Top 3 Partners, yay!

Tentacruel can switch into a number of the threats listed with relative ease. It also makes it easier to wear down threats that lack recovery by spinning and providing hazards. Thundy can handle many of the core's threats after some prior damage.

P.S. Someone do a post on Sylveon, I've already made one for Heatran.

Excadrill can handle most of the Pokémon that threaten the core (bar Sableye and Volcarona, if it has already managed to Quiver Dance up) and either force them out or dispatch them with his powerful STABs. It can also remove hazards from his side of the field to prevent the core from being worn down. The fact that Excadrill can lock itself into some less than ideal moves is mitigated by Thundurus's ability to prevent set-up sweepers from getting too out of hand with his Prankster Thunder Wave.

Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Glare
- Hidden Power Fire/Rock
- Dragon Pulse

Has excellent synergy with Heracross since some of Serps checks are also Heracross checks (torn-t, zards) and they get crippled by Glare. Other checks like Heatran or Chansey are just a double switch away from eating a Hera CC. Heracross sorta checks Weavile but it's still annoying.

It threatens bulky grounds that bother Thundurus. And Thundurus can handle a lot of flyers that give serp trouble.

Having the same checks as another teammate just makes you easier to beat. If your only answer to these checks dies, you're screwed.

Also, fuck Tornadus-T. I fucking hate that thing.

That's not necessarily true. Especially if you have to deal with targets that lack recovery, you can overload them with multiple pokemon that share the same checks. Best known examples is bird spam from late XY (Talonflame + Mega Pinsir (+ Staraptor)) and Dark Spam (Weavile + Bisharp) Serperior + Mega Heracross + Thundurus wear fairies down pretty easily as long as you have a 4th or 5th teammate that can pressure them. Taunt on Thundurus may be a good idea to stop recovery moves.

Not gonna say what everyone else said cuz it's a little different. Instead of just overloading resists to break them like water spam, Bird spam, dark spam, etc. Serperior cripples counters with glare. If tornT or zard (common serp counters) switches into a glare, they can no longer check heracross and become rock blast food.

Banded Victini destroys most switch-in to the core such as Sylveon, Clefable and Mega Sableye. It also resists every move Mega Metagross carries and OHKOes it back with V-Create. Victini also has decent bulk to tank a hit from +1 Volcarona or Talonflame and KO back with its Banded moves. However, Victini is helpless against Mega Altaria.

Okay, I get the point. Just because you have the same checks as another team member doesn't mean you don't fit on the team. I get it. Also, could someone post something that can check spammers?

Fuck Tornadus-T though.
