current recoil is best for balance so i dont see why it would need a change

Well, I just like telling a compelling story, I think. Medicham missing Aggron and self-inflicting HUGE amounts of recoil is not equal to Medicham missing Yanmega and self-inflicting tiny amount of recoil.

What ZT says about Aggron and Yanmega makes perfect sense to me; I just don't feel as if the numbers work out the right way as WC is a highly fluctuating stat...

I like the way the numbers work and Zt's proposal works out fairly well. However, I don't think this should be the end of the line for this discussion and would like to see further investigation into tweaking after a few example matches should this be implemented.

Because honestly, keeping recoil as is is basically deciding to vote for something balanced over something that is all three of balanced, logical and simple (and yes, I am convinced that there is such a thing). It might be that ZhengTann's proposal is what we are after, but given the lack of discussion, it might also be that it was simply the first thing that came to the community's mind and nobody could be bothered to argue. Well, I say we should be bothered to argue if it will help us ensure that we get the best game mechanic possible.
