this is pure theorymon but what about a cursed body abuse bannete set.

Bannete W/leftovers
Careful
Evs: 252hp 4def 252spdef
substitute
cotton guard
shadow claw
knock off/trick room

Bannete may not be the bulkiest pokemon but it gets cotton guard via DW, Cursed body doesn't activate when the user is behind a sub but its invaluble on something as frail as bannete. Knock off allows you to take the opponents item for the rest of the match. which is a good utility on bannete. trick room allows it to pull off a cotton guard or sub VERY quickly. if using trick room use a sassy nature with ospe ivs.

Cotton Guard Banette doesn't roll off the tongue at all. But in all honesty, that seems like one of those sets where once it gets boosted you just sit there and think "okay, now what?" Without Adamant 252, it really won't hurt much with Shadow Claw, so I'd rather just use a naturally bulky utility like Bronzong or Tentacruel

its a work in progress, i thought that it would make a good wall, against unprepared users

Why max SpD invested when Cotton Spore boosts Defense you'll need as much as possible.

youre investing in special defense because cotton guard is already raising its defense
Akright that's not really my mentality if I'm boosting a certain stat I should max it out. Anyways he could use calm mind over another move and replace SClaw for SBall to make a tank.

Wow, never realised Banette gets Cotton Guard.

Banette, however, suffers extremely from 4-move-slot syndrome. There are SO many things you can run on it but it can never fit enough onto one move set. Sub seems like a must on every set, but then Sub teams awesomely with Pain Split. As does Sucker Punch. With Shadow Claw to round out coverage that's a set right there.

W-O-W + Cotton Guard would make Banette a great Physical wall, but Banette would still need recovery (Pain Split is incompatible with Cotton Guard).

Trick+ Knock Off + Frisk is also a good combo. Frisk tells you what the opponent has and if its worth Tricking your item for, or whether just to go for the Knock Off.

With Banette, its just hard to know what to do with it...

only dw banette gets cotton guard, its a special move on the banette event

If you want to use bannette as a defensive ghost , you need to compare it with other defensive ghosts. Your bannette spread gives : 332hp/166def/247sdpef , after a cotton guard boosts( wich will cost you 1 turn and a moveslot) it has 415 defense. If we look at other defensive ghosts , like dusclops(284hp/515spdef/515def/ with evolite and a rounded spread) and cofagrigus ( 320hp/427def/246spdef) they are both a lot better seeing dusclops is just a lot more defensive , and cofagrigus having the almost the same stats , but he hasnt got to use up a moveslot.

Now , they both dont have cursed body ( but pressure and mummy are very good alternatives) , it isnt very usable on a ghost seeing hes immume to normal/fight moves , and when they see cotton guard , they will most likely attack him with special moves anyway , wich are mostly non-touching moves( flamethrower , thunderbolt , surf, psysisch , shadow ball , list goes on forever). I like your thinking , but it isnt very usable.

I think hes better off using something like :

252 speed , 252 spa 4 hp , timid @ choicescarf/specs

Moves : trick ,thunderbolt,shadowball,hpwhateverwallsyouinhistier/wow/sub

or a physical variant from above

Actually, Bannete has a higher attack stat than both of these and also has knock off, which is a valuable uitility. Substitute is there to protect against special attacks. I see your point about the defenses though, but thats like saying that every normal type defensive poke is outclassed by porygon2, which imo is not true.

Yes bannete has higher attack stats , but u aint going to do more damage on a defensive variant than dusclops can with seismic toss and cofagrigus with shadow ball .Knock off is great i give you that , but the ghost pokemon already have great utility moves like will o wisp ( there are a lot more, hell you can even utilize a fake evolite duclops set with choice specs/trick , crippling a counter). If you use a defensive ghost , its often used for spinblocking. Cofa and clops do this both better than bannette.Bannetes damage output wouldnt be enough to 2ko opponents that break trough his subs. Like i said, i like the idea , but there are better things around.

Ok here it goes.

Set-Up Fodder
571.png

Zoroark@Light Ball
252 Hp / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Hasty
Illusion
~Fling
~Memento
~Sucker Punch
~Flamethrower

Have a sweeper that cant find the time to set up? Feeling like that one Pokemon counters it so easily? Well not any more!! Meet the Set-Up Fodder Zoroark (SUFZ), SUFZ comes into the battle disquised as your sweeper (We will say its Salamence at the moment). Now they bring in their counter for salamence as you fling your light ball! Instant paralyze, now your counter is paralyzed. But say their counter is still able to do a heavy hit on your sweeper. Well no need to fear! Memento their sorry asses. Now their counter currently has -2 Atk, -2 SpA, and Paralzed! Bring in your Sweeper and tell them GG!
Sucker Punch and Flamethrower are mainly fillers, Sucker Punch can provide priority in case you dont need your sweeper yet, as Flamethrower is for ferrothorn (As all flamethrowers are for now...)

Bulk Up Mew

151.png

EV's: 252 Atk 120 Hp 136 Spec D
Nature: Adamant

~Bulk Up
~Sucker Punch
~Drain Punch
~Ice Punch

What Conkeldurr lacks is that final coverage move after Drain Punch and Payback to push it to near unstoppable. Well Mew has all that coverage and then some. In these three moves mew gets perfect coverage across the board. Especially since most people are either expecting a lead or support set is why this one has worked so well for me. Mew has the bulk to pull this set off and after 1 or 2 bulk ups has the attack to sweep through entire teams.

I used this set too early in the 4 suspect round, but the fact that it has no STAB is annoying, so i prefer using Zen Headbutt over Ice punch, but mew's a cool guy and can still surprise things with a set like this.

Salamence (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 216 SDef / 24 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Roar/Dragon Dance
- Dragon Tail

I recently saw someone using this on PO and I personally love this set. Rest and Sleep Talk are rarely ever seen on Pokémon like Salamence, but when Salamence is made bulky, the combo works great on the powerhouse Dragon. Salamence gets STAB on Dragon Tail bringing it up to an acceptable base power. Sadly, Roar and Dragon Tail have negative priority. However, when D-Tail/Roar is used via Sleep Talk, it ignores the negative priority. What this means is you now have a 66.6% chance to phaze out your opponets Pokemom before they can even move! (assuming you out-speed them) You'll also be phazing in your sleep with huge bulk, reliable recovery, good Attack, and not often being outsped. Hazard support is crucial to this set working. Any good Spike stacker will work (Skarm, Ferro etc). Heatran is a great option if you want Stealth Rock. Tentacreul can be used as a Toxic Spiker as he shares nice synergy with Salamence. Dragon Dance is an option over Roar if you don't really fear subs. DD powers up you Dragon Tails and it ensures that you don't get outsped during phazing. A more physically deffensive set can also be used, aswell as a max Speed set.

Pretty sure that's copied almost word for word from Serebii.

Anyway, about one of my favorite pokemon: Drifblim.

Drifblim @ Flame Orb
Ability: Flare Boost
Nature: Modest/Timid
252 Sp. A/252 Spe/4 Hp
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt/Thunder
Hp Fighting/Weather Ball
Memento/Explosion

I'm not sure why this wouldn't be used more. It makes a weird Rain abuser between Thunder and Weather Ball. Or he could set up a sweep with Memento or Explosion.
