Pokémon: Navi
Type: Fairy/Bug
Ability: Anticipation | Serene Grace | [HA] Forewarn
Stats: 150 HP/45 Atk/30 Def/80 SpA/120 SpD/150 Spe
OU Moveset:
Navi @ Fairium Z
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 16 HP / 252 SpA / 240 Spe
Modest/Timid Nature
- Psychic / Air Slash
- Quiver Dance
- Dazzling Gleam
- Bug Buzz / Z-Target

OU Moveset:
Navi @ Focus Sash
Ability: Forewarn
EVs: 224 HP / 252 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
- Roost
- Bug Buzz / Dazzling Gleam
- Quiver Dance
- Giga Drain
Reasoning: Navi is a fairy that heavily resembles a bug. She gets Z-Target, as she is what tells Link how to Z-Target. She can zip around rather fast too.

Z-Target:
Normal | Status | 8 PP
Until they switch out, the target's resistances to the user's STABs are ignored, as well as their evasiveness.
Z-Z-Target: Raises Defense by 1.

Okay but what’s the Z-Move version of that Status move?

Splash -> Z-Splash
Z-Target-> Z-Z-Target??

Type: Normal/Ghost
Signature Ability: Soul Capture — After knocking out any Pokémon, the Pokémon gains a boost in the knocked-out Pokémon's most proficient stat. [Similar to Beast Boost, except for using the target's most proficient stat rather than the attacker's.]
Stats: 50/15/50/145/95/135 (BST: 490)
Example OU Moveset(s):

Cappy @ Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
Ability: Soul Capture
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Timid/Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Shadow Ball
- Moonblast/Hidden Power Ice/Hidden Power Fighting/Trick
- U-turn/Trick

Other Notable Moves: Transform, Will-O-Wisp, Ally Switch

Rationale: The Normal/Ghost typing, Transform, Soul Capture, U-turn, and Trick all reference Cappy's ability to change into other hats and capture enemies. High Special Attack and Speed are a nod to this as well.

Type: Electric/Normal
Ability: Levitate
Stats: 50/65/107/105/107/86 (BST: 520) (same as all forms of Rotom that have entered an appliance)
Signature Z-Move: Roto Z-Power (Normal, Special, 200 BP, does not check accuracy, 1 PP, does not make contact; The user gathers a massive Z-Power and fires it at the target. This boosts the user's stats. [+1 Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spe. Hits adjacent foes.])
Special Mechanics: This form of Rotom is event-exclusive and has the move Hyper Voice. Hyper Voice may be upgraded using a Rotodexium Z into the Z-Move Roto Z-Power.
Example OU Moveset(s):

Rotom-Dex @ Rotodexium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Fire/Will-O-Wisp
- Substitute/Will-O-Wisp

Other Notable Moves: Same as all forms of Rotom

Rationale: Hyper Voice comes from Rotom-Dex's newfound ability to speak. Roto Z-Power is a mechanic in USUM. Electric/Normal typing is self-explanatory. Other than these, most of Rotom-Dex's traits are inherited from regular Rotom.

There's only one vote for each submission. If no more submissions are up in 24 hours, I'll start the next slate. I'd rather keep this thread moving then let it go stagnant waiting more more submissions.

Voting open. Unfortunately only two subs but I'd rather keep this thread moving rather than it go stagnant waiting for more. Get your votes in by Monday.
There's only one problem: for each of the three characters, there is only one submission to vote on (Ninetales Dragons' for Navi and mine for Cappy and Rotom Dex)…

With that in mind, I vote Ninetales Dragons for Navi and either vote for myself for Cappy and Rotom Dex if possible, or else abstain; however, what I stated in the above paragraph means that the votes are not going to materially affect the results in any way.

Edited the post. If there's no more submissions, I'll award it the current subs and move one to the next slate.

Only one submission for each character so Ninetales Dragons and lordofdunans win with theirs by default (hopefully this slate gets more).
If this thread starts getting more popular in the future, we'll revisit this slate if there's demand for it.
On a side note lordofdunans and Ninetales Dragons have earned the title Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Captain Rainbow respectively.

Seventh Slate:
TM75 - Swords Dance
A wild Marth, Cloud, and Meta Knight appeared!
Suggested by Cookie Butter and lordofdunans

Get you submissions in by the 17th of February.
Please feel free to suggest future slates.
Have fun!

Pokémon: Meta Knight
Type: Steel/Flying
Ability: Knight's Chivalry (On switch-in, gives opponent tertiary Steel-type for 5 turns) | No Guard (HA)
Stats: 80 / 110 / 80 / 110 / 80 / 110 | BST: 570
New Move: Dimensional Slash - Steel Type, Physical, 80 BP, 15 PP, 100% Acc., -3 priority. User can't attack foe if hit by a physical or special move (like Focus Punch), but user is protected from damage if that happens. Chance of protection on repeated usage works like Protect.
OU Moveset:
Meta Knight @ Fightium Z
Ability: Knight's Chivalry
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dimensional Slash
- Sacred Sword / Drill Run
- Swords Dance
- Brave Bird

Other options: Air Slash, Hurricane, Secret Sword, Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Leaf Blade, U-Turn
Reasoning:
  • Type: Self-explanatory. Meta Knight wears metal armor and fights with a metal sword. He also has wings and flies.
  • Knight's Chivalry: In multiple different games when you battle Meta Knight, he offers Kirby a sword so they can fight on an equal footing. I made Meta Knight Steel-type, and swords are related to Steel-type, that's why the opponent becomes Steel-type.
  • No Guard: Sometimes Meta Knight's mask breaks, leaving him with no guard : )
  • Stats: Meta Knight is the same species as Kirby, so they have kinda similar statspreads. We know Kirby is stronger because he defeated Meta Knight multiple types, so Meta Knight's BST is lower.
  • Dimensional Slash: Based on the Smash Bros. move that makes Meta Knight the strongest character in SSBB untouchable for a few moments.
  • Brave Bird: Crobat gets it so why can't Meta Knight?
  • Hurricane, U-Turn and Drill Run: Based on Smash Bros. moves.
  • The other moves: Common slash or sword-based moves.

OO: Drill Run, U-turn.
Reasoning: The sigmas move and typing are rather self explanatory, it's ability relates to its sword prowess.

Pokémon: Meta Knight
Typing: Dark/Flying
Ability: Might of Galaxia

Signature Ability - Might of Galaxia: Increases the Power of Contact moves by 30%.
Signature Move - Mach Tornado: Flying Type, Physical, 100 BP, 90% Accuracy, 10 PP. No Additional Effect.
Signature Z Move - Galaxia Darkness: [Night Slash + Metanium Z] 180 BP. Ignores Abilities.
OU Movesets:

Meta Knight @ Metanium Z
Ability: Might of Galaxia
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Night Slash
- Mach Tornado
- Psycho Cut

Meta Knight @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Might of Galaxia
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Night Slash
- Mach Tornado
- Psycho Cut
- U-turn

Reasoning:
Typing: Self-Explanatory, really.
Base Stats: Meta Knight's base stats draw from his SSB appearances, being a faster offensive character.
Moves and Abilities: So, a lot of this is based on the famous Meta Knightmare series, mainly Meta Knightmare Ultra, so a lot of his moveset is based on what he can do there. His signature Z-Move is a reference to one of his Ultimate moves in the games and Final Smash, Galaxia Darkness. Mach Tornado is also a part of his arsenal both in Meta Knightmare Ultra and Smash Brothers, and his signature ability is in reference to his sword, named Galaxia. His offensive movepool all comes from the sword, as moves like Psycho Cut and Dual Chop relate to slashing, and the choice to add Agility and Roost to his arsenal is based on the special moves Meta-Quick and Heal from his Meta Knightmare series.

Given that the Dark type largely represents dirty tricks and such. If Meta Knight tried to do one of THOSE, he'd give himself a seizure from the lack of honor. He has, like, an honor fetish or something. Giving Meta Knight the Dark-type would be like giving Drought, Solar Beam, and Morning Sun to a fucking vampire.

Pokémon: Marth
Type: Steel/Normal
Ability: Charm (If Marth is switched out, the Pokemon to come in after him is granted one stage in accuracy and evasion for 3 turns or until the Pokemon switches out)/HA: Super Luck
Stats: 90/135/95/40/70/110 (BST: 545)
OU Moveset:
fast marf @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Charm
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Falchion's Edge (Steel | Physical/Status | 100 BP | 10 PP | 90% Accuracy | Super effective against Dragon-types. If used on Marth, recovers 50% of HP lost)
- Sacred Sword
-
Psycho Cut
- U-turn
Other Moves: Every sword, slash, swipe, cut, etc. move, King's Shield (Hero-"King"), Protect (lol), Recover (see: Falchion's Edge reasoning), Counter (duh), Taunt (みんな、見ていてくれ!)

Reasoning
Type: Marth is probably the most normal lord in all of the Fire Emblem games, so Normal seems like a fitting type. Steel is mostly because of his expert swordsmanship and swords are usually, um, metal. Makes him x4 weak to Fighting but I'm pretty sure he won't know what to do if someone ran up to him and started punching him. The typing could've been more interesting but he's a pretty bland lord, but he's still a lord, nevertheless.

Ability: His new ability, Charm, is based off of the Fire Emblem skill of the same name known to be used by Marth. Charm in almost everyone FE game increases the units around the user's hitrate and avoid rate by 10%. This ability tries to imitate it, but the effect only lasts for three turns because it could get annoying since evasion increase is present.

HA: Fire Emblem has critical hits. Super Luck increase critical hit ratio on every move. Creative, I know.

Stats: Going to be honest here, I took Marth's Fire Emblem: Heroes stats with boons, multiplied them, and rounded them to a reasonable number. What you get is a Physical Sweeper/Revenge Killer with average stats (except for Special Attack, but a) there's no Magic stat in FEH and b) Marth's Magic stat in the main FE games are ass lol).

Moveset: In this set, Marth utilizes his high Speed combined with Choice Scarf and his high Attack stat to fulfill the role as a Revenge Killer. Sacred Sword and Psycho Cut are used here as their types can reliably kill low HP targets (besides maybe some Ghost-type) and reinforces his skill at the sword. U-turn is there only to have synergy with his role here and his ability, Charm, but I guess an explanation could be that in FE you can move units behind another so they can be shielded, and that's kind of the gist of what U-turn does, I think.

Falchion's Edge: I felt like his special weapon, Falchion, should be represented in his kit rather than just having sword-like moves as a nod to it. Falchion's Edge although a Steel-type is super effective against Dragon-types is because in FE, Falchion does extra damages to dragons or dragon-like creatures. I felt like this'll be a cool, niche effect it could have. The move also can be used as a recover move because Falchion in FE can do exactly the same thing: it can be used as an item to recover HP. I gave it very little PP because I didn't want it to be too overpowered.

Might do the others sometime in the future.

Type: Steel/Fighting
Signature Ability: Limit Gauge — Dealing damage, taking damage, or being statused fills a gauge which powers up attacks when filled. [Details below]
  • The Limit Gauge is a hidden meter that goes up to (3*user's level) and starts at 0.
  • The Limit Gauge resets upon switching out.
  • When the user deals damage, the Limit Gauge increases by the amount of damage (in HP) dealt.
  • When the user takes damage (from an attack), the Limit Gauge increases by 2.5 times the amount of damage (in HP) taken, rounded down.
  • When the user is afflicted with the following status conditions, the Limit Gauge increases by the following at the end of each turn:
    • Burn: user's level
    • Freeze: 3*user's level
    • Paralysis: user's level
    • Poison: 0.5*user's level, rounded down
      • Bad poison: 1.5*user's level, rounded down
    • Sleep: 2*user's level
  • When the Limit Gauge is filled, the user's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed stats are internally boosted by 1.2x until it is no longer filled. In addition, the next attack used successfully is boosted by an additional 50% (stacks with the 1.2x boost, for an overall boost of 80%), which depletes the Limit Gauge, however.
Stats: 90/140/90/90/90/70 (BST: 570)
Signature Move(s):
  • Finishing Touch (Steel, Physical, 150 BP, 100% Accuracy, 5 PP, does not make contact; The user summons a fierce tornado to rip apart opponents. This move does special damage [the opposite of Psyshock] and can only be used when the Limit Gauge is filled.)
  • Cross Slash (Steel, Physical, 16 BP, 90% Accuracy, 10 PP, does not make contact; The user slashes the target five times, landing a critical hit each time.)
Special Mechanics: Finishing Touch may be upgraded using a Cloudium Z to the Z-Move Omnislash (Steel, Physical, 230 BP, does not check accuracy, 1 PP, does not make contact; The user, Cloud, confronts its enemy one-on-one and slashes the target with full force. The Limit Gauge is filled after the attack.)

Example OU Moveset(s):

Cloud @ Cloudium Z
Ability: Limit Gauge
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance/Bulk Up
- Close Combat
- Cross Slash
- Finishing Touch

Other Notable Moves: Earthquake, Heavy Slam, X-Scissor, Sacred Sword, Psycho Cut, Night Slash, Ice Beam

Rationale: The Steel/Fighting type and the many cutting moves comes from Cloud wielding the heavy Buster Sword. The Limit Gauge mechanic, Finishing Touch, Cross Slash, and Omnislash are taken from the character's original franchise. Earthquake, Heavy Slam, and Bulk Up come from the fact that carrying the Buster Sword makes him a **hunk**. Cloud gets Ice Beam in a nod to Blade Beam, one of Cloud's Limit Breaks.

How has no one given Honor Fetishist Extraordinaire the Fighting-type yet?

Pokémon: Meta Knight
Type: Fighting/Flying
Ability: Knightmare (Slashing attacks ignore immunities [type-based or otherwise], thaw the user, and do 1.3x damage. Cannot be ignored or suppressed.)
Psycho Cut
Cut
Slash
Night Slash
Solar Blade
Leaf Blade
X-Scissor
Cross Poison
Air Slash
Air Cutter
Fury Cutter
Sacred Sword
Secret Sword
Razor Shell

Stats: 90/110/70/90/90/150 (600)
Signature Item: Meta Knight's Mask: Halves damage from Electric, Ice and Fairy and grants the effects of Intimidate. Only works on Meta Knight.
OU Moveset:
Meta Knight @ Meta Knight's Mask
Ability: Knightmare
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Mach Tornado (Physical Flying, 100 BP. 15 PP. Slashing move)
- Swords Dance
- Recover

Other notable moves: Extreme Speed, Brave Bird, Fire Blast, Phantom Force, Leaf Blade, Night Slash, Smart Strike (Also notable: no Toxic because he'd never use a dirty trick like that)
Reasoning: The knight-like Swords of Justice and Gallade are all Fighting-type, and Fighting-types in general are associated with honor, so Honor Fetishist Extraordinaire is a clear Fighting-Type. Meta Knight's winged flight and mastery of the sword arts of firing motherfucking tornadoes at people are highly evocative of the Flying-type. This together leads to his Fighting/Flying type, which is a good offensive combination as well, hence fitting with someone who beat the greatest warrior in the galaxy. His stats are well-rounded, leaning offensively - his highest stat is Speed, fittingly for someone known for incredible agility in combat and the ability to fly to other planets on his own two wings. Knightmare reflects Meta Knight's mastery of the blade, as well as Galaxia's tendency to solve puzzles that don't make sense, including lighting fuses (hence the thawing part), also the fact that he can hit ghosts with his sword in gameplay and presumably canon. Meta Knight, of course, loves his famous mask, which makes him more resistant to the types it does because he doesn't show weakness to them when interacting with them, and gives Intimidate because scary boi. Sacred Sword because Galaxia is exactly that, Mach Tornado from his sword art of firing motherfucking tornadoes at people, Swords Dance because swords (and of course a Kirby playable character knows how to dance), and Recover from his healing ability in Meta Knightmare Ultra and Meta Knightmare Returns. Ever other notable move is either a thing he does in one of his boss battles, or a reference to his swordsmanship. (He'd probably also get Charm)

Though you are right in the Dark Type representing trickery, the typing represents a lot more than that.

For one, Dark-Type is known as the Evil Type in Japan, and, although Meta Knight's allegiances and motives seem to switch in the blink of an eye, he normally takes on the role of an antihero or straight up villain, so this works in some sense.

Another concept the Dark-Type is associated with is, well, darkness itself. Although I will admit that the Ghost-Type has a lot more of a connection with shadows and such, it isn't related to darkness per say, and Meta Knight doesn't exactly fit the Ghost-Type. Meta Knight has some connection to the darkness, as he seems to be able to create and manipulate it with attacks like Galaxia Darkness (which, by the way, is named GALAXIA DARKNESS).

So, in general, I think it fits fine.

Edit: It's also worth mentioning that Darkrai, another Dark-Type that doesn't necessarily fit the Mischievous or Evil aspects of the type, is a Dark-Type.
