SPOILERS! [Crown Tundra!] List of Movepool Changes

Interesting, this is what the January Direct said ("Tutor Moves - including all-new moves").
Well the text from the image is pretty clear on the fact there'll be returning Tutors as well as newones

The question is obviously, which tutors.

Obviously, retired moves are a no-go, but I can see most important competitive ones like Knock-Off, Tailwind, maybe even Toxic making a reappearance.

Personal expectation: since they went out of their way to cut redundant moves as well as make a lot of former tutors into TRs (which are... basically the same but portable), I'd think the new tutors and returning ones are not going to feature any "trash" move.

I'm more willing to believe the direct image was either out of date or slightly mistranslated/worded considering, honestly.

The Expansion Pass is basically a replacement for Third Versions of old, so that would naturally include everything Third Versions typically added -- including Move Tutors.

Still, there is notable competitive moves missing from TRs, as well as missing a "reliable" way to get TRs other than trying to get lucky with raids or the sellers.
My thoughts on the missing notable moves is its gamefreak hamhandidly forcing competitive change. Just seems notable at just how many former, important Tutors became TRs as well as the surprising amount of moves that suddenly became a TR to begin with, like Close Combat & Play Rough.

Heal Bell
Defog
Bind
Shock Wave
Block
Last Resort
Worry Seed
Covet
bug Bite
Recycle
Spite
After You
Synthesis
Gravity
Magnet Rise
Role Play
Water Pulse
Aqua Tail
Pain Split
Tailwind
Endeavor
Focus Punch
Laser Focus
Magic Coat
Gastro Acid
Super Fang
Sky Attack
Dual Chop
Knock Off

Of these I'd say the most notable is probably...Knock Off, Defog, Aqua Tail (which vould've been reevaluted as redundant with Liquidation this gen after doubling up last gen) and Tail Wind. Maybe Pain Split too.

and hell let's look at TMs too

Roar
Toxic
Roost
Smack Down
Double Team
Aerial Ace
Torment
Flame Charge
Echoed Voice
Charge Beam
Quash
Explosion
Rock Polish
Aurora Veil
Psych Up
Frost Breath
Dragon Tail
Infestation
Dream Eater
Swagger
Nature Power
Confide

Again of these I think the only real notable ones are Toxic, Explosion (notably, Self Destruct is a TM again), Roost..maybe Roar & Dragon Tail?

I dunno just the lack of certain usual staples does not lend enough to there being even more move tutors awaiting. There's honestly not that many

I also bet gamefreak sees the unreliable way as a feature, not a bug. They want you to be doing raids. Forever. Hell they still want you to do raids, you may be able to find Ore through other methods but they went out of their way to list Max Raids first and foremost.

In USUM we had a total of 67 tutor moves, the most out of any previous game. Could we have more than that in the DLC or less. There were some tutor moves that are now scrapped moves altogether (Snatch, Telekinesis), so they could put old moves that were never tutor moves in the list. Or we could get returning tutor moves from past generations in this game (Sucker Punch, Vacuum Wave). Given we have 100 TMs and 100 TRs, what if we get 100 tutor moves LOL

Comparing the old and new move list, one move had been restored. The descriptions:
Old: Kinesis This move can’t be used. It’s recommended that this move is forgotten. Once forgotten, this move can’t be remembered.
New: Kinesis The user distracts the target by bending a spoon. This lowers the target’s accuracy.

of all possible moves

why

why bring this one back

I know the Abra line is back! But no one uses Kinesis! It's okay you can leave that one alone. It's not like they brought back Barrage even though Exeggutor is back

So I noticed that Magearna LOST Heart Swap but gained Rollout and Zap Cannon.
Midday and Dusk Form Lycanroc gained Sucker Punch, something that only Midnight had through an event

I'm not sure if this is old news but I found this data dump that seems to have a lot of relevant info.

https://gist.githubusercontent.com/SciresM/71a38bcdd4717771afa8948532aabc0c/raw/e777fc84e09ed5f1c7c7686330ec649ebaf286ce/Pokemon%20-%20Sword%201.2.0.txt

Sharpedo gets Flip Turn, which is kind of cool.

Weavile gets Triple Axel which, if it scales like Triple Kick, is a 120 BP Ice move (73% of the time)

Dusknoir gets Poltergeist which finally gives it a strong Ghost move.

G-Raichu gets Rising Voltage which might as well be a Special Bolt Beak.

Rillaboom gets a 70 base power STAB priority move that its own terrain sets up and buffs. 91 base power lol.

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zeraora in Grassy Terrain: 301-355 (94.9 - 111.9%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Excadrill in Grassy Terrain: 357-421 (98.8 - 116.6%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gengar in Grassy Terrain: 180-212 (68.9 - 81.2%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mimikyu in Grassy Terrain: 286-337 (113.9 - 134.2%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Ninetales-Alola in Grassy Terrain: 301-355 (86 - 101.4%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Togekiss in Grassy Terrain: 124-147 (39.8 - 47.2%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon in Grassy Terrain: 130-153 (40 - 47%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Hawlucha in Grassy Terrain: 150-177 (50.5 - 59.5%)

And we're back! With the Isle of Armor just dropping, we have tons of new information, mainly all of the new moves! Shoutouts to Michael as always for the data dumps! The massive datamine list can be found here:
As usual, this is a community effort. Please go through this list and post here with any movepool changes that you see! Or if someone has already compiled the list elsewhere, just post that list. I think people have already begun to post some parts in the datamine thread just above this one, but it would be great to consolidate those findings into a concise list here, as that thread is moving so quickly.

Once a consolidated list is posted/linked to, I will update the original post with it.

Thank you everyone for your efforts!

Not with Slush Rush sadly...
There's a new NPC that allows you to make any pokemon legal, but it will reset their moveset (so no sneaking Ice Shard Slush Rush Sandslash-A)

e: & Well I mean obviously you could just breed for a legal Slush Rush sandslash-a, too.

Actually, the datamine makes it quite easy to see the move distributions of all of the new moves. Again, the datamine is here. Simply use CTRL + F and type in the names of all of the new moves to see who learns them!

Here are the new moves:

I'm guessing somebody is probably going through this process right now and gathering the list of all Pokemon which get all moves. Shoutouts to whoever does that! When that drops, I'll link to it in the OP.

We're almost there to compiling one concise, complete list! I don't have much time either but this should give someone a really good start. I assume, but cannot guarantee that all of the above lists are 100% accurate so feel free to quickly double check them.

Just a quick general FYI, I have gone through all the TM/TR move updates, and am currently compiling them into an easy-to-read format. I'm hoping to have it up in the next hour or so, but at the very least it will be up by the end of the day.

Also, Melmetal now gets Earthquake as a TM move.

Edit: all of them for "Foreign" Pokémon, not yet any for the native Pokémon.

Also, Azumarill seems to no longer learn High Horsepower, a change from Home data we had.

Unless that’s a mistake in the doc, or something, could someone test in-game?
