D/P Event Giveaways.

Very true Jibaku, I have searched through several other sites as well but no cue of an event Saturday. Another thing that is suprising is that it is barely a week of preperation for the event.

Ok I just called Nintendo World the guy on the phone had no idea what I was talking about, so take the event with some doubt now =/.

Oh, so its fake...

Someone should call and ask if they are ever having a poke giveaway and if so, any estimate on when...

I was unable to find any information on this particular piece of information whatsoever... Thankfully, this appears to be fake.

Start checking your e-mails everyday till Saturday. Cause I got an e-mail for a High School Musical event which was yesterday, but I also got the e-mail yesterday. Maybe Nintendo's just being lazy?

I mean I could've gotten someone way out of the loop on the phone and doesn't know whats going on. So if you were on the fence for this, I say don't go, it might be a waste of your time. If you live in NYC and its a short subway ride there, then check it out, but until we get more info this should be tossed away for now. I'm sorry myself if I provided any false information as I was blinded in my joy for America to finally get an event. If its real fantastic, if its fake then we move on.

Why do they try to make Blaziken useless?

Empoleon takes Scizors place and Infernape takes the role of BPing Gliscors, Floatzels, and Ambipoms, too.

And Cressy will even be harder to take down.

That High schol Musical event was yesterday. Nintendo will probably e-mail another one for the Carnival games thing since it said so on the calender on Nintendoworld.com

I called today and nobody knew anything because they said they run on pretty much barebones staff on Sundays. I'll call tomorrow. It looks legit, though, since I found a pdf file (same as the flyer on the first page) posted by someone on another forum who got a newsletter email. Usually the store doesn't actually run these things but instead the PR company in charge of events (like this Carnival event it is coinciding with).

I'm very sceptic about this "add" First and foremost, let me say I have some training in making good adds, a year and a half of schooling infact, so let me point out some faults

-Nintendo is a professional company. I mean really, what kind of bland add retains a frame around the Nintendo store logo. That shot big red flags for me. Look around the logo, it's a giant box.
-Exclusive "Pokemon" Giveaway. Nintendo NEVER ever leaves Pokemon as that word in the title. They will always use the logo.
-Dialga and Palkia have no place on the add. Nintendo never puts the version Pokemon in adds (see mew add from Nintendo Power) If anything they would have all three starters+ Cress sillouette.
-Cress is a post National Dex Pokemon. Nintendo usually mantates National Dex for Pokemon of that such, and Cress seems a little random
-Cress needed wish. It was, excuse the pun, wishful thinking. To easily cause stir, they could just add it, like they did
-"if conditions met" is a grammar error. Nintendo as a professional company with a large printing budget would not need to save room by skipping words.
-The add is in black and white, Nintendo never does that. They always use magazine like paper in full color, and even on a black and white printer the color would show up.
-The heck, what's on the back sheet. If serebii would work for me I would complain to the thread starter to show me that back add.

I'd be very sceptic of this. Don't go changing any things on the site or on any simulators to reflect these moves until the day comes, or at least closer.

You have a point...

It says you only need 1 badge, and Cres is in the National Dex..

They wouldn't do that....Would they?

well, they did it with mew in Ruby/Saph for Mew, but getting the National Dex in that game was a little awkward. Infact I believe just getting mew gave you the N dex in R/S, because it was a trade from FR.

Ballad has some very good points. I'm in the same boat as him on this. It sounds too good to be true and there simply isn't enough evidence for it.

Along with that, the operational DS part sound odd to me. No duh it has to work. Usually Nintendo would say something along the lines of "Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite game system.

There was no "official" National Dex in R/S. Like, nothing a Professor gives to you. You just magically got it when you received a Pokemon outside of the R/S Regional dex.

I'm starting to hope this is a fake.

Edit: "Specially colored" sounds more like Nintendo tbh though, as nobody in-game every says anything about "shiny" Pokemon. There are, however, "differently colored" Pokemon, according to Dawn/Lucas.

I think you're confusing "Nintendo" with the "Nintendo World Store". They're not the same company, not even close. Nintendo of America is located in Redmond, Washington, and the Nintendo World Store is merely a flagship storefront for the company run by an affiliate. Little if anything that goes on there is overseen by "Nintendo" or even Pokémon USA. There weren't any flyers or advertisements for previous NYPC giveaways, either. Just the occasional mention on pokemon.com, which only occurred for about 1/10th of the giveaways. I'm going to be in NYC anyway that weekend so I'll go regardless.

I get postcards from Nintendo Store (for some reason unknown to me) but anyway, I got the Diamond and Pearl Release party invite and a JAA Invite. Neither one of those look anything even close to the low quality that adds is at.
Gamestop had a better tourney add, and you can argue that they have less to patronize about Nintendo than the official store does.

If nobody finds out by tomorrow, I work in the city not too far from the place, I can always go in and ask.

As far as if this is legit, it's always strange to see this randomly come up on forums but nobody can find an official word.
