[Dark] Leader YellowAdminSilver v. Frosty

Stop being so fucking negative, you are winning. It is very irritating.

You know, the only silver lining I can see in ordering first against Sableye is that it has so much more tricks than your number of subs, that it is pretty easy to order once you swallow your pride and admit that regardless of what you do, you will still end up losing badly.

Pin Missile - Megahorn - Pin Missile
IF
Pain Split AND Protect wasn't used by Heracross on the action prior THEN Protect and push back
IF Counter THEN Struggle Bug (lol) AND push back
IF Flying-Typed Damaging COMBO THEN initiate action string Dig (Suspend) - Dig (Attack)

This is the best I could come up with tbh. It's not that good but w/e

Also, I don't think this has come up before but flavor would indicate "strong moonlight" is present. Since I never ran this by the gym committee, I'll defer to Frosty if he says it should only heal 25HP.

Heracross enters the field after Greninja is returned. Angrily, he shakes his horn and fires off a volley of small thorns. While almost impossible to see for humans in the poor light, Sableye does just fine. He jumps through them acrobatically, dodging almost all of the hits before striking Heracross with a wind-infused blow that sends the bug staggering back. Eager to make up for lost time, Sableye begins drawing energy into himself from the dark environment. His gem begins to glow with an intense light and his wounds seem far less significant than they were before.

Heracross, always one for tact, takes the moment to stab Sableye in the face and then shoot many, many more darts at him. But the ghost barely seems to register it as he gathers the winds around him once more and uses them to throw Heracross back towards his trainer.

The bug is badly damaged and the ghost seems only slightly weaker than he was when the match started. The challenger is once again placed at a disadvantage.

There is a old as fuck precedent (see IAR vs C$FP) stating that summary>arena flavor. And seriously, the fact that it wasnt an effect approved of by the commitee speaks for itself. We dont approve of or care about flavor because it has no competitive value like that.

All of this is to say that moonlight heals 25hp only in this arena. Please fix.

Also I am not switching.

That's actually super helpful and I'll take it as an official ruling. I'll ask someone later to edit that ruling into the Gym OP in order to avoid confusion.

Extrasensory - Extrasensory - Extrasensory
[IF] Bide is used A1, use Shadow Sneak A3
[IF] a damaging Bug-type move is used [AND] you would move first based on speed order, use Aerial Ace on the first instance, Acrobatics on the second, Aerial Ace on the third
[IF] a damaging Dark-type move is used [AND] you would move first based on speed order, use Hidden Power that action instead

These orders are bad and risky and easily exploitable in at least three ways that I can think of, but this is very bad as it is so there's not much to lose I guess

IF Greninja gets a Crit A1 THEN Dig A2

Heracross continues to rampage. As it should, beautiful 'mon that it is.

This time the gym leader's Greninja comes back out to face it. But the frog almost immediately starts to blend into the background, only a faint pink glow marking her presence. She lashes out from behind Heracross with a mental strike, knocking the bug off balance. As he falls, Heracross returns the favor by striking the ground hard, sending random seismic waves across the field and tripping up Greninja.

The bug takes the opening to fire off a volley of stinging thorns at Greninja while she's down. Due to the psychic aura around her, the frog takes exceptional damage. Even the arena-boosted Extrasensory she returns isn't enough to outpace Heracross in the damage rage.

This certainly isn't helped when Heracross takes a moment to retreat underground, away from an incoming strike, and retaliate with a moderately damaging attack afterwards.

Things are worse for the challenger than they were before, but with Heracross only on 2 HP and ordering second, there's not a lot it can plausibly do

IF
P/E AND this sub wasn't activated on the action prior THEN Feint and push back
IF Damaging Priority move AND COMBO (Megahorn + Feint) is deemed feasible THEN COMBO (Megahorn + Feint)
IF Damaging priority move THEN COMBO (Feint + Feint)

my reasoning for combo is basically:
a) Both moves involve rushing.
b) This anime scene:

Remember when this battle looked winnable? Back in like... Round 2? Fun times.

Also I'm running on the assumption that Megahorn + Feint is def feasible and should be reffed as such idk

There's not much to say here. Heracross hits really, really hard but is then promptly KO'd. Frosty actually got an anime screenshot to justify a combo, which is far more work than I'd do for even some class projects. The dark leader is now firmly on their back foot with two injured (albeit potentially quick) Pokemon against Frosty's bench. Can they do it? Maybe. But at this point I have a lot of doubts.

The gym leader grimaces and withdraws his fallen kung fu panda. He was not victorious in the end. But it was no matter, in the long run. With an idle flick of his wrist, a ghost appeared on the field. His sapphire eyes shone through the darkness.

Greninja was undeterred and simply bounced on the balls of his feet, waiting for a moment to strike. It came when Sableye lurched through the darkness in a nearly supersonic tackle, only to get intercepted by a shield of light forming around skill frog a second before it hit. Greed collided violently and rattled back, dazed. But he regained his wits just as the shield fell down and struck Greninja with an aura of fury. A flash sparked from the gym leader's belt with the hit, as Pangoro lent his last energy reserves. Another flash marked another retaliatory hit.

But then something much brighter lit up the darkness.

The entire field was illuminated in silhouette as Greninja let loose a pulse of pink-white light. When the intensity finally passed twenty seconds later, Sableye was battered on the ground a dozen meters away and Greninja was glowing pink and lighting up the night.

So I was reviewing the battle for shenaningans and I came across the round above. My Greninja should have 10 less hp.

Since I don't want to relive any part of this match, do you want to reorder?

In my defense I don't actually own any shed shell. I only got to use it because of your "I am too broke for items" arena effect.

So thanks!

And so we take one step closer to the inevitable end. Greninja and Sableye come back out to dance, and it's quick. Sableye stops Greninja from EXPLODING itself. In return for the favor (and a less than effective, but still optimal) pain split, Greninja shoots an absurd amount of water at Sableye, following it up with a Hidden Power that breaks the ghost.

The leader just has his own Greninja yet, which is critically injured. While it mercifully gets to order first, to win the leader would have to knock out the other Greninja and a not-yet-dead Porygon2 while taking essentially no hits. Unless Frosty chokes badly, this is basically over.
