Welcome everyone to the second edition of the Draft League subforum's premier team tour, Draft Champions League! This tour will consist of 8 teams who will play 8 games per week in a round robin style tour. The top 4 teams will then battle it out in a playoffs bracket to crown our second DCL champions and win a custom avatar for themselves.

The 8 slots for this tour will be as follows:

We're going ahead and opening signups for managers. Each team requires a manager and a co-manager. There will be a minimum of 11 players per team and a budget of 110k total for the auction. Managers will be allowed to self-buy prior to the start of the auction at a cost of 15k per manager. Manager signups should be in the following format:​

The deadline for manager signups will be August 4th 2024, after which the chosen 8 pairs will be announced and player signups will begin!​

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Bryann and myself both have a lot of tour experience at a high level having previously participated in both DCL and DPL. We are very knowledgable of the SV metagame that makes up a large part of the tour, while I was able to find success in the SWSH format here last season, with bryann being knowledgable of the older gens and myself VGC. With this and our major team tour accomplishments which are Bryann's DPL S6 with the Wings of Wrath and my PWS S4 win captaining the Fezanskibidi Toilets, as well as my SITRUS S2 victory on the Down Bad Patrol we believe we are a very well rounded captain core that has what it takes to win. Bryann and I are very motivated after teaming together last DCL under a Mew Beginning where we were disappointed in the end result and would like to carry its legacy to greater heights this DCL.

Why Should the Hosting Team pick you?
Spheal and I have both been around the draft community for about 6-7 years, displaying success individually and in team tours by playing, managing and winning at a high level in both. For example, we managed the WYD Step Slowbros in PWS S3 where we made semis. Additionally, I managed team UK in this past DLWC, making the quarterfinals, and won PWS S4 while Spheal has captained a team to finals and played in Draft Premier League for the past few seasons, producing consistent results.
As for the formats, Spheal and I both have a strong background in each. In the most recent DLWC, which was just SV, both Spheal and I played an important part in our team's success in reaching the quarterfinals, each finishing at 3-1. As for SS and SM, both Spheal and I have won most of our individual championships in these formats, and I also finished 7-2 in the PWS S4 championship run in the SS format. Having been in several team tours, both Spheal and I have extensive experience in the ORAS format as well, albeit less individual success there. Spheal also has an impeccable knowledge of the VGC format, having been consistently drafted in the Sitrus Team Circuit for the past few seasons, beating notable top players.
As mentioned, Spheal and I have captained together; we see it as unfinished business and we are both extremely motivated to win.

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Scion and I are both experienced draft players that are also prominent within the draft community. I've placed well in several Smogon draft tours (9th in 2023 SV Summer Seasonal, 8th in 2024 ORAS), and had a strong 5-2 player performance and team semifinals appearance in DCL 1. Scion was the runner up of this year's SV winter seasonal and is currently #1 in this year's circuit standings, plus having other strong performances like 16th in 2023 SS and positive records in PWS and DLWC. We also are the prestigious Teal Mask Trios Tour runner ups! (shoutout to olivia too). In addition to our player accomplishments, both of us are very active draft contributors, like working with the Draft C&C team since its beginning and helping host draft tournaments and speed tours. We're very involved with the community and, as a result, have both the knowledge and skills to be effective captains due to our understanding of the playerbase. Lastly, everyone who has ever teamed with Scion can vouch for his absurd levels of activity in team tours, especially PWS, that rival his team captains (and I'm no slouch either!).

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?:

My co-captain Luffy and I have acquired a wealth of draft experience and accolades throughout our playing careers, both of us having played in many high-level leagues and achieving sustained playoff success in these events over the course of our tenure. In addition, we both have been playing in established team tours for several years and have obtained championships and deep playoff runs as recently as in the most recent Draft League World Cup, where Luffy co-captained US Northwest to a finals appearance. Furthermore, Luffy played for the winning team of the most recent season of DPL with an amazing playoff run himself. Finally, we both have extensive experience in captaining multiple teams tours and have honed our skills to able to create team success. We believe that our years of experience and success in many draft events qualifies us to be great captains of a successful team in DCL.

blitz has a strong history as a draft player with plenty of experience around the community. He took a DPL team to playoffs in his managerial debut, made finals of the draft circuit, and made finals of the last DCL.

I have managed plenty of team tours here on smogon and am familiar with the admin of being manager. I have assorted draft experience, mostly off smogon, with a solid track record. I also recently won WCOP helping with the LU and managing decisions.

We are ready to put up a strong DCL performance!

KCric: I’ve been one of the most well-respected players in the community since starting to play draft back in 2016. My team tour record as captain was very successful, with 3 first seed finishes out of 4 DPL seasons, albeit without managing to win the whole thing. Nonetheless, I was able to achieve this with Wings as a player in DPL S6 and am widely known to be a fantastic teammate. Much like LOQP, I have recently rekindled some passion for mons and am keen to captain again after being a player in DCL S1
LOQP: Captain of the best team tour performance of all time (Kyurem-Black from the Waist Down, Clash of Kings S2). Participated in a few DPL & COK seasons. Good relationship with everyone in the community that I've had the chance to talk to. Even when I have busy weeks in real life, my passion for draft leagues always ends up magically fitting a lot of time on my schedule for mons.
Together we are looking to leverage our previous team management experiences to make our team the best environment to play in.

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Both me and hallu have been playing draft league forever and have a bunch of experience under our belts. I have Won tours like DPL and Clash of Kings while also claiming the infamous DPL Finals MVP. I also boast a top 3 Smogon Draft team tour record. Hallu is one of the all time goats of the draft league format holding one of the best DPL all time records and 2 MVPs alongside a chip captaining in DPL S3. We have tons of experience playing and captaining countless team tours and would be glad to add a DCL chip under our belt this season.

Why should the hosting team pick you?:

PZZ: One of the more experienced members of the community when it comes to team tours, with being able to break into the top team tours in both the smogon scene (SPL and WCOP) and the draft scene (every big one aside from SITRUS). As far as team tour accomplishments as a player go, I won the previous DCL, DLWC, and most recent DPL. As far as captaining experience goes, I have managed a BOB team in the past.

Zooch: Plenty of high level team tournament experience this generation, emphasized by an 8-1 season in DPL where he won the championship and was easily the biggest steal of the tour. Even though he doesn't have formal captaining experience, he's an active tutor through smogon, where you can see some of the tutoring sessions on his channel (as well as non-smogon affiliated teambuilding videos)!

SoggyDoggySage: I won Low Tier I, won the GBA Community Tournament last year, Top 16 of USUM II, Top 8 of Natdex l am currently #13 rank in Circuit, and am coming off a DPL season where I went 7-3 and got nominated for several awards. I went 6-0 in APA in my first team tour and have a proven track record of success at a top level. I would be an excellent captain due to my knowledge of draft.

Why should the Hosting Team pick you?: Fragments and I have extensive managing experience with results to prove our capability in leading a team. Fragments has managed in RBTT x3, BLT x2, CAPPL x2, UMPL x2, OMPL, EPL, MPL, ADPL, OUPL, NDPL, SSPL, SMPL, 1V1PL, 2V2PL, PUWC and UWC. I have managed in CAPCL, ALTPL, BDSPPL, CAPPL, BKCPL, PMPL, NDOTS and AXPL. In AXPL I was able to successfully support our draft slot into a positive winrate.

Fragments and I have a very high understanding of the various generational metagames and can guarantee a successful run in DCL with our support and teambuilding. Both Fragments and I have been able to foster a very healthy and active team environment in every tour we’ve managed. We can guarantee a healthy and competitive team environment that will improve on the current metagames in this iteration of DCL.
