Desert of RAGE
My Art JS
So here i am once again with another team for you guys to rate <3. It all started with my childhood memories back in the day when Gyarados was the most badass Pokemon around. So i decided to make a team based on Gyarados.
Team Building
The first Pokemon on the team is obviously Gyarados. And after thinking for a while i decided to make a sand team where Gyardos could be useful,so i decided to use Tyranitar. So thats how it all started.
After i had this two pokemon i saw that adding Rotom-W would be useful(even though i think i should had added Rotom-C but ohh well)since it could help me scare away or even kill Skarmory that along with Rotom-W would cause me troubles setting up and sweeping.
Next,I decided to add Infernape so it could speed tie with terrakion or else it would s*** over my team easily and i also needed something to hit Grass,Ice,Rock types.
Then, i just added Ferrothorn for hazards and important resitances and Gliscor for the same purpose but also a way to deal with Fighting types that will cause problems to my team.
and yes i know...its a stupid way to build a team but thats how i build them after all and i cant just think of a good strategy to build teams at all. But dont worry i will explain each Pokemon's purpose and all that stuff.
Team <3
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 248 Atk / 204 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
Purpose:
Wait until i kill off the Pokemons preventing him from setting up such as Rotom-W and so. Works well against sand teams, rain teams and sometimes even vs sun teams.
Why this Pokemon?
Easy to set up thanks to intimidate and substitute and can work on any weather without trouble at all but you will just need to get rid off the pokemon that cause Gyarados trouble and also get rid of choice scarf pokemon.
EVs: After a DD with the speed investment it outspeeds all Pokemon under 372 speed. 248 Atk so the extra EV can be used on HP for an odd HP number.
Tyranitar (F) @ Chople Berry Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 240 HP / 60 Atk / 116 SDef / 92 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock
Purpose:
Set up weather along with rocks so it can get rid of sash pokemon, multiscale or getting many important OHKOs that without them will be impossible (unless crit lol). Also it traps the Latis along with many other Psychic types or Ghost types. With Chople berry it allows me to live Focus Blast from the likes of Gengar(OHKOing it), Reuniclus(2KOs CM varients) and the rare HP Fighting specs latios.
Why this Pokemon?
I think its the most versatil Sand setter since it can take many roles and has many useful sets along with great stats (except for speed but oh well). And also i just dont like Hippowdown even though it has reliable recovery since i feel more confortable with Tyranitar.
EVs:
the speed evs are meant to outspeed the common choice banded Scizor and it gets outspeeded even if it tries to reach 177 speed since this set has 181 speed. It outspeeds most Jellicent that invest in speed evs and also speed ties with 20 EV speed Skarmory. The evs on Atk helps getting and almost guaranteed 2KO on CM Reuniclus. 401 HP since its about the same as 404 but takes less damage from rocks and also i can use those extra evs to increase special bulk. (Adamant nature still achieves a guaranteed OHKO on CB Scizor <3)
Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf Trait: Levitate
EVs: 80 HP / 204 SAtk / 224 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Trick
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Purpose:
Get important resistances in my team as well as outspeeding faster foes that would otherwise be problematic and even costing me the game. And also helps me see if my opponent is using a Scarf Rotom or a Bulky one.(most scarf rotoms are max speed..thats why)
Why this Pokemon?
I think it has the best stab combo that also with the typing helps out my team's synergy. And also i needed a good scarfer for my team, and i just dont like the other Rotom Forms since this one benefits from rain.
EVs:
Modest nature to get the sp boost i need and since my only true purpose or the main reason for the evs is to outspeed Adamant Dragonite after +1...326 does about the same as 339 so i can use the extra 80 evs and dump them on HP to increase bulk so its useful after using trick so u dont have a fragile Rotom-W and can still take hits
Infernape (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Overheat
Purpose:
Deal with almost every single Grass types it encounters along with getting a speed tie with the musketeer trio and useful for hitting Flyinf types and steel types that would otherwise wall gyarados <3. And helps me deal with other Tyranitar,Ninetales and Abomasnows (and sometimes Politoed)
Why this Pokemon?
Im tired of using the classic sand physical attackers so i decided to use Infernape. And also helps me with the Volt-Turn combo with Rotom so its also great for scouting and can deal with steel types such as Skarmory easily clearing the way for Gyarados to do the rest.
EVs:
I think it just doesnt needs and explanation lol
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 172 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Power Whip
Purpose:
Set up hazards, stop Rotom-W and also Dragon types locked in Outrage..also helps against grass and water pokemon that would otherwise sweep most of my team. Gyro ball for the genius guys that think setting up dragon dances on ferrothorn is smart and power whip for water, rock and ground types.
Why this Pokemon?
I need the hazards for weakening Pokemon to make Gyarados's and Infernape's live easier when taking care of other Pokemon. And also brings the resistences this team needs that would otherwise cause too many problems later in the game.
EVs:
Pretty straight forwar...no reason to explain
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 184 Def / 76 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Taunt
- Swords Dance
Purpose:
Resisting most physical attackers.Preventing pokemon from setting up or laying out hazards </3. And not only that, but it can also be a physical sweeper sometimes after Rotom is dead and nothing can stop it after a SD
Why this Pokemon?
I need a reliable Pokemon that can truly take fighting type moves(Close Combat) along with bug moves (U turn). And also serves as a Status absorber thanks to Poison Orb and gets a good bunch of HP back thanks to Poison Heal so its a reliable physical wall. Not to mention that it beats Skarmory 1 on 1 with that moveset.
EVs:
76 speed evs to outspeed 244 speed Pokemon and 248 HP to get less damage from rocks.
Thanks for reading this and rate it <3
