This game came out recently and it went completely over my head until yesterday or so. It's based on the Digimon Data Squad anime. Has anyone got this? I'm gonna give it a try (because i can heh), and i'm hoping it will be good since Bandai merged with Namco and Namco has so many wonderfully done games.

I have not, instead, I've been playing Digimon World: Dusk version. It's not half bad to be honest.
I've seen the whole anime though. It's also known as "Digimon Savers" good buddy. If you want to snarf the whole series, then go to the DATS Fansub group. They've had the series finished up for quite some time. It's very different from the past Digimon series, very different.
Snarf the series? What does that mean, is there some way of getting a hold of the series, do you have a link?
Look for it on your own time.
Edit: It's very good. Never say 02, that's not even a real series.
I am intrigued that the recent games may not be as horrible as I thought, largely thanks to major bias/nostalgia issues I tend to like the first series of the anime much more than the others and it had been much the same for the video games(I don't think I can blame it on nostalgia this time), although I thought Digimon World DS was pretty fun so maybe they do better on handhelds.
That said my next Digimon video game purchase will be getting a fresh copy of the original Digimon World when I have time but if you guys discover these newer ones to be good I may look into them!

Get Digimon World. I just stopped playing Data Squad for a while. It is pretty bad, if not horrible!
It's so boring, honestly. It's worse than Colosseum. I've seen like 20 different attacks but 15 of them had repeated animations :( and I don't really like the graphics. I'd take digimon 2003's graphics over this cel-shaded shit anyday. Cel-shade is good when done properly... in this game it's not so much like that.
So yeah, even if you're a gigantic digimon nerd (i'm guilty), steer away from this.
