Ditto

this isthefirst time I post anything so here goes.
If trick room was in efect and the ditto had a lagging tail would it not be faster and thus move before the oponent?
and in this way would it not be like a choise scarf without the lock

I think Lagging Tail will always make the holder go last. Try using a Macho Brace instead.
 
Oooooh, Trick Room Ditto?

An unexpected and delicious idea!

I like. I like very much! That gives you all the advantages of a Ditto, plus the ability to choose multiple attacks.
 
I don't see the use of Ditto in Trick Room. Eccentric copies all of the foe's stats, stat changes included, and excluding HP. Minus Choice Scarf (even in Trick Room), Ditto has to win a Speed tie in order to strike first against the opponent.

So ditto is always slower than the other poke

However I'd like to add that tr ditto isn't that good because most sweepers he'll be copying are pretty fast anyway and you've only got 5 turns of tr, meaning just 3 turns to abuse ditto. Bit too gimmicky, except I don't see it working well.
 
No, you use a Macho Brace, not an Iron Ball.

That way, Ditto won't have to worry if he ends up copying a Flier or Levitator.
 
I would personally use Lagging Tail or Iron Ball for my Ditto because I love to wash myself in dirty places.

but on a stall team that uses trick room anyway would it not be perfect

I don't really see the point of trick room Ditto. It's a waste of space on a Trick Room team as I can't set it up and can't often sweep. A lot of sweepers which you copy are also boosting their speed, so ditto ends up fast.

And Ditto's holding a Macho Brace, so he is slower than the guy he's copying, which means he's faster.

Actually, Trick Room Ditto switching in on something that's set up speed boosts on himself would be quite good indeed. After the Trick Room is gone, hopefully Ditto has taken out his double, and can now enjoy the speed boosts.

Speaking of wich could you batton pass speed boosts? if so ninjask could come in on somthing that is seting up and stall for a turn then bp to ditto wich in turn sweeps
 
Thing is, nothing is going to set up on Ninjask-They'll either attack it straight away or roar it out, because we all know what happens when you let a ninjask set up.

true true but what if salamence has set up 2 dd then you just swich in the ninjask use protect to get a speed boost or two then bp to ditto, would you then be able to out speed without choice scarf and begin a rain of terror

damn but can you bp speed boosts? if so it would be usefull

or focus sash then it would be ridicules

just wondering does evolution stone work on duskclops?
 
I didn't feel like reading the 23 pages of posts so I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but ditto could possible be ban worthy. Every time I face a doryuuzu/jalorda, I let them set up as much as possible and then I just sweep their entire team. Ofc, a smart player wouldn't set up if they saw a ditto in team preview, and even then ditto is still useful because it helps prevent a sweep.

Just some random facts about I have learned the hard way by using ditto:
If you use u-turn and switch to ditto (and the opponant's pokemon get's ko'd), ditto will not transform into anything.

If the opponant has a substitute up ditto will not transform.

If it is a double switch, ditto will transform into whatever pokemon is out at the time he comes in.
ex.
Blaziken vs. hippowdon

Blaziken switches to ditto (blaziken is faster so it switches first)
Ditto transformed into hippowdon
Hippowdon switched to (insert pokemon)
 
YOu answered your own question. A smart player can handle the threat of a ditto. They just need to be careful with setting up/have their team ready to counter their own members if necessary.
 
Im still wondering about the speed boost ditto are you shore that it will reseve the bosts from bp. if so then it could hold an focus sash and then sweep. but has anyone tried this?
 
There are better recipients. Ditto getting the boost is too dependent on what the opponent has out at the time. Also, you can't switch in in an attempt to net the boost; Ninjask is the only valid BPer of Speed Boost (SB+BP Blaziken is fucking fake) and its pathetic bulk makes it difficult to switch in even on resisted attacks.

TL;DR Ditto sucks as a recipient as it's too unreliable.
 
Ditto can't recieve the boosts anyway. The second it comes in Ditto will be forced to copy the boosts of the opponent and remove any of the boosts it recieved.
