Pet Mod DLCmons v3: returns (Slate 7: Mega Discoveries)

DarkFairy’s Vanilluxe line
DrPumpkinz’s Regional Regis (and gigas too)
PalpitoadChamp’s Spearow Line (Monrow)
(The only reason i didn’t vote for exploud is because pixilate boomburst is somewhat stupid in a lot of metas, namely AAA and M&M, and thats after absurd power creep) (Babelgeist also gets an honorable mention but i friggen love fearow, sorry)

Here are the winners!

Legends tell of ancient giants lurking deep within the caves of Kalos: a giant of rock, coated in the Luminous Moss of Glittering Cave; a giant of ice, hidden by the gloomy fog of Frost Cavern; and a giant of metal, polished to a mirror shine in Reflection Cave.

:sv/spearow:
Name: Spearow-Kalos
Type: Dark/Flying
Abilities: Keen Eye // Gluttony
Stats: 60/50/20/21/21/90 (+20/-10/-10/-10/-10/+20)
Movepool Changes: +Dark Pulse, Embargo, Flatter, Fling, Hone Claws, -Confide
Description: When a powerful noble moved into the region, they made the humble Spearow as their symbol. Ferocity amongst the common in order to get the commoners to like them. Of course, it was a fraud and the noble them made everyone's life worse. Spearow started getting better treatment than their usual treatment as a pest or minor inconvenience. They became spoiled and rounder as they were fed constantly. They still kept their awful temper and still made everyone hate them. If DrPumpkinz Krabby is added, they would be natural rivals, with Krabby serving under the entire line and Kingler acting as revolutionaries that take over and remove the family from the area. Because of this, stronger Krabbys are either closely guarded or taken care of.

:sv/fearow:
Name: Fearow-Kalos
Type: Dark/Flying
Abilities: Keen Eye // Run Away
Stats: 75/80/55/51/51/120 (+20/-10/-10/-10/-10/+20)
Movepool Changes: +Dark Pulse, Embargo, Flatter, Fling, Hone Claws, Nasty Plot, -Confide
Description: As the new Spearows grew into Fearows, they started loosing the aggressiveness they once had and grew into a more cruel rule over the surrounding area. They demand everything from other Pokemon and have the other Pokemon gather them food. Fearow then distribute the food back but in much smaller quantities. If a Pokemon is found storing food for itself, it will be attacked and have it stolen from. Despite this, Fearow is quite a pushover if something outmatches it, deciding to run away and get allies if someone starts beating it in a fight.

:sv/honchkrow:
Name: Monrow (Monarch + row)
Type: Dark/Flying
Abilities: Keen Eye // Swift Retreat
- Swift Retreat: This Pokemon can choose to switch out on the second turn of moves with a charge turn of invulnerability instead of attacking (Fly, Dig, Dive, etc). This list of moves does not include Sky Drop.
Stats: 106/110/60/53/77/130 (+31/+30/+5/+2/+26/+10) from Fearow-Kalos
Movepool Additions (from Fearow-Kalos): Knock Off, Nasty Plot, Spikes, Sucker Punch
Competitive: Monrow is a reworked Sanddern from DLCmons v1. Monrow has solid enough bulk combined with a blitzingly fast speed and solid offense. Using its signature ability, Swift Retreat, Monrow can outspeed its opponent, use Fly, avoid their attack, and then switch out or attack. This leads to the question of do I switch into a mon to tank a Fly or do they get a pivot off. Do I stay in and hit whatever comes in or do I end up hitting the Monrow. Monrow also packs several good options to help with its unoptimal stats, such as Recovery, Spikes, and Knock Off, the Pet Mods classic.
Description: Monrow developed a method with dealing with those that can threaten it by flying up high to avoid attacks and threaten an attack of their own. When the Pokemon then prepares to deal with the threat, Monrow can then decide to strike if it looks like it can get a good shot or run away and get help. Monrow use this trick, not only to deal with major threats, but also to bully smaller Pokemon.
:delcatty:
Evolved from Skitty with Moon Stone in Kalos
Based on white cats, symbol of purity, enlightment and light.

Back when evolutions exclusive to regional forms aren’t a thing in Alola, Pokémon with low BST such as Alolan Raticate were simply made to fulfill in-game roles. Kalosian Delcatty, in this case, respect the “no exclusive evo” as Kalos came before Alola, out-universe chronologically. However, unlike Alolan Raticate, it is more akin to Diggersby where it got a powerful Hidden Ability that turns it from “okay” to “surprisingly great” if used well.
Name: Kalosian Delcatty
Stats
90 HP / 45 Atk / 80 Def / 45 SpA / 80 SpD / 45 Speed | 380 BST
(XY DLC is a Gen 6 Pet Mod, so standard Delcatty’s BST is rolled back to 380.)
Typing:
Fairy / Fire
Abilities: Cute Charm / Illuminate | Light Power (!)
Light Power: Doubles the Pokémon’s Special Attack.
(!) If Kalosian Delcatty won, this Ability can be given to at least another official Pokémon not in the Kalos Pokédex, as well as future submissions. This is a very strong Ability so I'll discourage to give it to a Pokémon that is better than decent and higher than 50 Special Attack for regular Pokémon, or 90 for Mega Evolved Pokémon.
Notable Moves
Physical:
Fake Out, Nuzzle
Special: Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Solar Beam, Energy Ball, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Grass Knot, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Hidden Power
Status: Toxic, Protect, Substitute, Rest, Yawn, Thunder Wave, Heal Bell, Helping Hand, Sing, Swagger, Calm Mind, Wish, Cosmic Power
Description: Most of Kalosian Delcatty’s fur are pure white, able to refracting light and absorb sunlight to safely control fire. It is said that it’s blue flames will purge foul spirits.
Competitive Uses: Akin to official Kalos’ own Diggersby, Kalosian Delcatty is a Pokémon with low BST, but with a powerful Ability in Light Power that doubles it’s Special Attack. It also has an unique (within this Pet Mod) typing in Fairy / Fire, allowing it to stand out among the other Fairy-type introduced in Gen 6.

While a Moonblast or Fire Blast from it would be devastating, it has low Speed and barely above average bulk, causing Kalosian Delcatty to make the most of it’s defensive match-up coming from Fairy and Fire. Weakness to Stealth Rock doesn’t help. With that said, it have a pretty colorful coverage for a Fire-type Pokémon, meaning it want to run Energy Ball to scare off Ground, Rock and Water-type Pokémon.

Description:
1) Concept
- Kalos has a lot of flower themes. Think of Florges, the mysterious destructive flower, or Lysandre, for instance, the latter being called Flordelis in German. Since Spain is close to France, I figured it wouldn't hurt to include a regional Glimmora able to evolve into Glimmaltis in Kalos.
- Glimmaltis's height reflect the three petals of the fleur-de-lis, symbolizing the three estates of society. Its weight, on the other hand, references the French Revolution. Even though the fleur-de-lis represented royalty, it had been repurposed during the upheaval. For instance, it was used to evoke emotions and rally support for the "right" cause. Moreover, it got intertwined with hope, renewal, and the beauty of a new France. All these information are to emphasize Glimmaltis's special role in the Kalos region; it does have a BST of 600, after all.
- I imagine in Kalos, whether it'd be in the past or in the future, Glimmaltis would be a vital part of the region, especially in locations that have been devastated by Yveltal or drought. It revitalizes them.
- As Glimmaltis and Kalosian Glimmora have been living for a long time in Kalos, especially nearby places influenced by Xerneas, they've become used to the purifying energy in their surrounding, leading to a type change. This would mean the Kalosian Glimmet line no longer knows any Poison moves, except for Toxic. Other than that, the Kalosian Glimmet line has the same movepool as the Paldean Glimmet line.

Description:
2) Competitive
- Glimmora from the Paldean region is known as an offensive hazard lead. Glimmaltis expands on this role with Seed Sower, improving its longevity and allowing it to set multiple hazards throughout the game. This is further emphasized by its good bulk and offensive power. With Giga Drain, Spiky Shield or Leech Seed, Glimmaltis should be able to stay relatively healthy even more.
- Right now, it doesn't seem like we have sufficient Rapid Spin users; Starmie is the only viable Pokémon in the Kalos region that comes to my mind. Thus, Glimmaltis can serve as a potentially new option for certain teams; it can even provide Grassy Terrain through Seed Sower to support the team. This is especially important in a generation where burn does 1/8 chip damage, among other unnerfed competitive elements. So, Glimmaltis doesn't mind too much switching into Will-O-Wisp or Scald. Between its bulk and typing, it can reasonably switch into most Water, Ground, and Electric Pokémon, such as Slowbro, Hippowdon, Zapdos, Mega Manectric or Rotom-W, among others.
- That said, Glimmaltis can run an offensive Rock Polish set for lategame potential. It's also a potential abuser of Sun as Flower Gift makes it tanky on the special side while increasing its physical damage output. Mega Charizard-Y will likely appreciate its ability to remove hazards. In VGC--I mention this because there's been some talk about its inclusion in the server--, Glimmaltis can well thrive on Sun teams as well as in the traditional Grass/Fire/Water core. It doesn't immediately faint to Fire moves, which is pretty huge for Grass Pokémon when Mega Charizard-Y is running around. Moreover, the Rock-type is useful enough to keep Mega Kangashkan in check. Grass + Rock + a natural immunity to Powder moves like Rage Powder is pretty appealing as this combo pressures common Pokémon like Mega Charizard-Y, Tyranitar, Rotom-W, Zapdos, etc. Lastly, it has Rage Powder, which greatly synergizes with Seed Sower.
- While Glimmaltis has high BST, it is well checked by Grass, Dragon, and certain Steel Pokémon, such as Chesnaught, Ferrothorn, Hydreigon, Goodra, Scizor, etc. Moreover, it does not have Synthesis. Therefore, it has to rely on forced switches and a combination of Grassy Terrain, Leftovers, Giga Drain or Leech Seed to keep itself healthy throughout the game.

Now for the new slate: Like in DLCmons V2, we will make a set of new tutor moves, starting with:

Slate 2: Normal/Grass/Fire/Water tutor moves!

The distribution of these moves must be included in your post along with its effects.

This slate will last for 5 days!

Description: Hazard control with chip damage and speed control. Water as a Type can do a lot of thing, so this move distribution is restricted so that Gen 6’s only OU-allowed Drizzle user in Politoed have a further niche, while Suicune, Manaphy, Milotic, Blissey, Slowking, and even Lapras provide support. In Ubers, Lugia can help fellow Ubers by slowing down faster threats like Palkia and Xerneas, as well as cleansing off Stealth Rock that is set up by Primal Groudon(!) to help teammates like Ho-Oh to switch in more safely.

(!) If this got in by “ORAS forms available with DLC” given ORAS is the definite Gen 6 competitive scene. And obviously, the move fails if attempting to use against Primal Groudon due to Desolate Land, so use it when it is switched-out.

Description: Coming up with an attacking Normal-type move that could have wide distribution but didn't take up an already existing niche was very hard (especially in a Return / Frustration gen). I also didn't wanna cop out like they did with Terrain Pulse and introduce a type-changing move. So I landed on the idea of sound-based moves. This is a more powerful Hyper Voice but it comes at the cost of being unable to use any other Sound-based moves for the two following turns. This can be especially useful on -ate attackers, particularly Mega Gardevoir giving it a more defining niche in the ORAS metagame with a burst attacking option (but remember, this also blocks Hyper Voices after!), and giving Mega Altaria a special attacking approach, or a stronger option on defensive / support sets! Maybe could be used on Mega Pidgeot and/or Sylveon as well?

Description: This is an idea I have for my own upcoming Solomod (Ibirama) that I thought would be especially useful to bring back in an ORAS-based meta with 1/8 burn and full Scald distribution. The idea here is that Grass-types as Water-resists can come easily into Scald and thus get a significant power boost to take advantage of it. This works best on Grass as Water and Dragon are far too spammable types for a 140 BP move, but like Normal, Grass can afford this power boost! You can also switch into Discharges this way. The main users would likely be Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss which can switch into Scald if needed and have some recovery method to at least offset the burn damage!

Description: Yet another idea borrowed and slightly altered from my soon-to-be Solomod (Ibirama). While Mega Charizard Y itself isn't given the move, it's powerful enough as is, and physical Dragon-types like Dragonite and Flygon should be preserved as a counterplay options, other Fire-types can make use of the Fire Venoshock effect, such as Volcanion with Steam Eruption, and possibly Talonflame, Moltres, Chandelure, or Mega Houndoom with Will-O-Wisp. And it's always possible to bring a double Fire core to make use of the move's full effect, provided you're good on hazard removal! While ORAS burn is very powerful, it's usually harvested by the Water-types with Scald. And this move should give Fire-types an extra benefit to be used in the meta in spite of their Stealth Rock weakness, both to use this move, and to absorb it without taking extra damage or burn! Important to note that with Heatran unavailable, every notable Fire-type is Stealth Rock weak, so I do think something like this is in order and could help push the type forward outside of the sheer power of Mega Charizard Y!

Description: The last idea from this slate I stole and tweaked from my Solomod (Ibirama). This is a very complex move even if its effect is simple. For one, it removes the target's STABs unless they already were Water-type which can be a significant debuff to incoming wallbreakers, or deter set up sweepers from fully utilizing their STABs. However, turning the target into a Water-type means they now resist this very move, meaning it's an awful combination with choice items. That said, some Pokémon like Ludicolo, Lanturn, and Protean Greninja (if legal) can use their STAB combo (or Protean) to get a Super Effective hit into the target on the following turn, so for those Pokémon it could be an useful option to gain momentum by forcing things out, especially Greninja which has Spikes and Toxic Spikes in its arsenal. But on Greninja in particular, this move does leave a bit to be desired as its Grass "STAB" is Grass Knot, which means something like Rotom-W doesn't mind at all getting hit by Power Splash, outside of its Volt Switches doing a bit less. Ludicolo on the other hand can use this opportunity to set up rain, and even threaten to 2HKO most Pokémon by hitting them with a SE move on the next turn. Another important mention the pair of Starmie and Tentacruel, whose Power Splash allows it to spin on Ghost-types the following turn, and can use the move as a general STAB removal option for the opponent, as well as guaranteeing a neutral hit with their other STAB should the opponent stay in. Lastly other general bulky Water-types like Slowbro, Slowking, Quagsire, and Vaporeon can use it as an alternative to Scald for STAB disruption, and perhaps make use of powerful Electric and Grass-types as teammates should they be able to come in on a Soaked Pokémon!

+3 priority, 100% flinch chance, only works on the first turn a Pokemon is out. It's Fake Out, but instead of being blocked by Ghost-types, it's blocked by Water Absorb and invalidated by Storm Drain.

Name: Soothing Scent

Category: Special

Typing: Grass

Base Power: 90

PP: 10

Effect: Hits all opposing Pokémon and inflicts them with Torment. Grass Pokémon or Pokémon with Overcoat or Safety Goggles are immune to the effect of this move.

Kalos Dex Users: :oddish: line, :carnivine:, :hoppip: line, :roselia: line, :bellsprout: line, :bulbasaur: line, :pansage: line, :flabebe: line, :spritzee: line, :illumise:, :volbeat:, :surskit: line, :shuckle:, :swirlix: line, :vespiquen:,

Reason: Grass Pokémon are usually known for spreading status and spamming Leech Seed. Thus, Soothing Scent allows them to be more efficient as they get to work around their weaknesses. Fwiw, fast users need to be behind Substitute or attack a target that just switched in to get the best use out of Torment while slow users immediately take advantage of Torment if they get hurt before they attack. That's how Torment actually works. In VGC, the users can rely on a redirector to better withstand initial offensive pressure from the opponent, if necessary. That being said, some non Grass Pokémon like Florges or Aromatisse can use Soothing Scent as well since they have access to Wish and often resort to Protect.

Description: Is that a U-Turn I see? Bomb them. A clone of a super niche move, but has more use than ignoring a weakness. Being able to prevent the opponent from pivoting via U-turn is massive. I also buffed it from its original version because Powder isn't very strong. Now it heals as well, allowing additional longevity. The flavor isn't just venus flytraps because then only 3 or so lines would get the move. It more of involves luring, gaping maws, and bright lights.

Description: The cooler Wave Crash. Wave Crash is very strong priority but comes at the cost of recoil. Competes with Aqua Jet but tends to beat it due to having a lot of recoil. I'd be willing to mess with distribution some more as there are some scary Pokemon with this. I gave some of the scary mons it but left some without it.

Since this is a regional dex format - last time I checked, anyways - I’ve balanced it with lower scald distribution in mind. Would definitely pair well with a Cherry Bomb user, if that wins.

(Visually like a 1-turn dive-plus-sky-drop combo)

Repurposed name from an old Ironmons submission, Crush Depth is here as an alternative physical stab option for water types who might now gain something out of missing a move, hitting a protect, or running face first into an immunity.

:garchomp:, as seperated by the comma, is only viable as a user because garchomp itself is viable as a pokemon.
:barbaracle: is only there because I think tough claws blunder policy stone edge as a gimmick could see some use, though that’s pretty much all it is - a gimmick.

Concept: Fairy-Tale poisoned apple (Snow White), helps dark and fighting-types deal with fairy. Azumarill and Diancie in shambles. Flavor wise it's mostly intended for Honchkrow and the two grass/ghosts but as a DLC move it would have good distribution. Honestly not that strong but the flavor is fun.

Name: Hydro Veil
Category: Status
Typing: Water
PP: 8
Effect: Creates a veil of water on the user's side of the field for 5 turns that reduces the power of all incoming attacks by 1/3 (1/4 in doubles) and prevents pokémon from being burned. The duration is extended to 8 turns if the user is holding Light Clay. The barrier is removed by Grass or Electric-Type attacks but not Brick Break, Defog and other such effects. Freeze-Dry also destroys the barrier.

Description: A veil of water is put up to reduce the damage from all attacks and prevent burns for 5 turns, but is destroyed by moves that are super effective against Water-Types.
Concept: This one is a bit convoluted, but the effect is a weaker Aurora Veil that is easy to set but also easy to remove. To clarify mechaics, the barrier is broken before the attack connects, as with Brick Break, but you can block the removal by switching to an immunity. I asked some people if it seemed good and they said that the Rotom formes would give it too much trouble, so I added on the burn immunity, that could easily be removed if it seems too strong. I'd imagine Garchomp for instance being really good to pair with this unless they have Freeze Dry.

Yeah no, I'm sorry but after discussing it, we think it should be vetoed. Omniboosts are insanely strong, and giving them to a lot of mons is gonna be tough, even without the Speed boost.

I'll give you 24 hours to eventually correct!

Time for the vote friends! I'm sorry for the wait haha.

Vote for your favorite subs for each type. You're allowed (your numbers of subs/2) for self-votes and can vote for up to 3 subs for each typing. Every sub is votable except Garrison (which has been removed).

Normal :normal gem:
- Power Prime (DrPumpkinz)
- Vocal Strain (lydian)
(These are literally the only two legal normal submissions lmao)

Fire :fire gem:
- Hot Tag (PalpitoadChamp)
- Kindle (sv)
- Quick Shot (Samtendo09)

Water :water gem:
- Cleansing Wave (Samtendo)
- Bubble Burst (DrPumpkinz)
- Wave Crash (PalpitoadChamp)

Grass :grass gem:
- Cherry Bomb (flareth13)
- Flytrap (PalpitoadChamp)
- Soothing Scent (BlueRay)

Quick shoutout to lydian’s Sunburn, which I didn’t notice until after I subbed (oops) but is generally the same idea, granted more sun-oriented. I almost voted for both it and Kindle, but ultimately decided to vote for hot tag and quick shot instead.
