Analysis of the game, from the loser:
My fatal flaw was my complete confidence that that was a CB Landorus. Had I bothered to calc lando explosion vs 4/0 kanga, or had i just scouted the stone edge with protect and then gone Scrafty or Jirachi, I could have won. Thundurus was key to the offense for beating Rotom, Pinsir, and Conkeldurr, and went he went down I basically lost. I should not have wagered the entire game on a hunch, and that choke lost me the game.
After that, i tried everything i could to regain the game, but nothing went my way. I quickly lost two more to a mach punch i for some reason failed to expect (i had expected feint mana + dpunch scrafty). My jirachi was absolute min spe since it carries emergency TR (good on literally all teams) so i tried to flinch his rotom-w, but ir was absolute min too. My attempt to scald burn his conk didn't work either. With nothing coming in my favor, it was clear I could not come back from one bad play, and I lost.
I'm not excusing my stupidity with that thundurus, because it was egregious, but I just want to say that I should have declined laga's offer to play then. I felt bad that we had not started BOTW when we were supposed to play a while ago and said I could get one game in the ten minutes between school and practice, which left me feeling rushed. Playing rushed is a great way to invite in mistakes, as you can see it did for me. I am sorry I gave anything but the "Battle of the Week" and i hope to redeem myself in these next two, under better conditions.
