Welcome to the first edition of Doubles Homefield! Players will sign up with a generation of their choice for a Bo3 single-elimination tournament, with the first game locked to SV DOU. The loser of that game will then play their opponent in the generation they signed up with - giving them "homefield advantage".

As an example: The first game is played in SV DOU. If player A wins the first game, then game 2 is played in player B’s “homefield”. If player B wins game 2, then game 3 is played in player A’s homefield.

Tournament-Specific Rules

The home player can choose from one of the following tiers to be played: SS DOU, SM DOU, XY DOU, and BW DOU. Your generation of choice is locked starting from round one, meaning you cannot change it from round to round, make sure to choose wisely!
  • This tournament will be Single Elimination
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown! (Main or SmogTours)
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, replays are required for all matches.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a Doubles OU Forum Moderator. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the Doubles OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what team to bring or what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot use any moveset on any Pokémon capable of intentionally causing an endless battle. Thus:
    • A Pokémon may not carry Recycle and hold a Leppa Berry in conjunction with Heal Pulse and Milk Drink, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Recover, Roost, Slack Off, Soft-Boiled, or Wish.
    • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Pain Split.
    • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry while carrying Recycle and Fling
  • Evasion Clause: Players cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold.
  • Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
  • Gravity Sleep Clause: Sleep moves with below one hundred percent accuracy may not be used in conjunction with Gravity.
Pokémon Restrictions
Players can only use Pokemon that are currently either obtainable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet or transferable to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Players cannot use the following Pokémon:
  • Annihilape
  • Arceus
  • Calyrex-Ice
  • Calyrex-Shadow
  • Dialga
  • Dialga-Origin
  • Eternatus

  • Giratina-Origin

Players cannot use the following abilities:
  • Shadow Tag

  • Moody Clause: Players cannot use a Pokémon with the Moody ability.
  • Evasion Abilities Clause: Players cannot use a Pokemon with the Sand Veil or Snow Cloak Ability.
  • Evasion Moves Clause: Players cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize.
  • Gravity Sleep Clause: The combination of Gravity and sleep-inducing moves with imperfect accuracy are banned.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
  • Swagger Clause: Swagger is banned.

Switching between dou gens is challenging and players can learn and improve also in not favourite metagames

thanks to everybody whose teams I stole used/took inspiration from and helped me prep, bo3 multigen is a lot to prep for (especially two in one week for round robin finals...) and being well prepared was very much key to me rigging winning the tour

this has definitely been my year so I'm happy I could get a second circuit trophy in the bag, I've had a lot of deep runs over the years but struggled to get over the final hurdle so it feels nice being able to clinch things for once

I wouldn't be here without my friends though, so I have to thank everybody I've spoken to past and present for making the game as fun as it is and making it all worth it, even if you haven't won a trophy yourself that's the real prize and I dedicate this win to every one of you <3
