  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

Gonna write about the matchups I'm personally excited for. "Why not do predictions?", my brother in christ, we are literally gambling and I'm not very good at winning roulette.

XY DOU: Memoric vs SingleThunder

After this week, there will only be one undefeated player in XY, but we are guaranteed at least one since the two current undefeated players are squaring off. Both these two had some pretty fortunate escapes to secure their week 1 victories, but came back much stronger in week 2 with some pretty interesting team choices; SingleThunder showed off Ally Switch Deoxys-S to get a Guts boost on their Conkeldurr, and Memoric popped off with Wide Guard + Toxic Aegislash into a pretty ideal Kang Deoxys-S matchup, and also there was a Blastoise. These two both really care about the tier a lot and I could see either attempting to take some risks in the builder or take a team loaded with fundamentals and just try to play better. Expecting 2 "xD"'s in this match.

BW DOU: Checkmater vs DaWoblefet

Wob's been in form as expected this DPL, though admittedly I haven't been wowed by the builder yet since we've only seen 1 new(?) team from him this year. Play wise he's been pretty efficient though. Checkmater isn't one of the other two 2-0s in the field, coming off a pretty brutal loss to Fran last week, but I have a lot of stock in this guy as one of the stronger BW players around, and admittedly the rug got pulled out from under him last game before he could really impress with play. Will the machine power through or will "Anyone BW?" be enough training to defeat him?

SV DOU: papiloco vs Exotic64

Not gonna lie I still don't know who Exotic64 is but they got ranked at the bottom or close to it in PRs and have turned it around with a 2-0 start to their season. That said, papiloco is also sporting a pretty insane 2-0 with wins off qsns and Paraplegic. Two players that are likely flying under most people's radar currently and one of them is going to end the week at 3-0, exciting.

SM DOU: SMB vs Charlotte

SMB's back in SM this week, which I think is the stronger tier for him compared to XY. He's 0-2 but honestly both games have been pretty tight and I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn around his season and end positive, but if he wants to pick things up he's gonna have to go through Charlotte, who's sitting at 2-0. Expecting some really high level gaming and cool teams in this match between one of DOU's most active players and someone back to DPL for the first time in ages.

BW DOU: Actuarily vs Fran

The other two undefeated players in the BW pool are going at it. Actuarily has come into BW goat status fairly recently off the back of a BW cup finals run last summer, while Fran has been lauded as one of BW's best since before I got here. Both of these guys have a different spin on BW compared to other players like Wob and Dad1, so I'm interested in seeing what's cooked for this week.

SV DOU: qsns vs Xrn

Easily two of the top five SV players facing off this week and one of them is gonna be sent to 1-2 which makes it feel like some high stakes gaming. Xrn wasn't playing in invitationals which leaves qsns with more of a blank slate to prep against while qsns has multiple teams shown off already, though I imagine these two have a general idea of the playstyles the other favors. I think this game will probably have some significant impact on the meta progression of the tour.

Easy highlight for DUU, both these guys are insanely talented as players and builders. Don't have too much to say here but I'm expecting some fire from this teamkill.
