Welcome all, to my RMT. This team so far has been my most successful teams in the HG/SS metagame. I have no real ladder peaks with this, but I have been laddering a lot on Pokemon Lab and it is safe to say I have been winning most of my games. This team was originally based around a Gyarados sweep, but now I am finding Empoleon does most of the sweeping. This team really explains my play style a lot, focusing in on Offensive synergy, as well as a lot of prediction. I use Gyarados to rip holes in Fire/Water/Grass cores, and you will see why. Flygon is the real glue of the team though, so once he dies it is kind of a big deal. Although this team is based around the two water Pokemon sweeping, Rotom and Tyranitar do damn well at what I need them to do.

A Closer Look:

metagross1.jpg

Metagross @ Lum Berry
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Explosion

Why this Metagross: This is the standard lead Metagross, but you know the old saying, " Why fix what isn't broken?" Metagross's natural bulk, combined with his monstrous Attack stat of 405 and good defenses, not much 2HKO's him. Stealth Rocks are almost guaranteed up, unless facing a faster Taunt lead, but most faster Taunt leads are 2HKO'd anyway. Meteor Mash is there for STAB, as well as for the attack boost sometimes, and to hit frail suicide leads down to their sash. Bullet Punch is there for obvious priority on pokemon hit down to their sash, and Explosion is there to go out with a bang. Metagross's typing is the only thing hindering him as a lead, causing him to be 2x weak to Fire, and Ground, two of the most common attacks used by a lead. For that reason, I am wondering if I should change him to a Shucca or Occa set with Earthquake in place of Meteor Mash.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suggested Changes:The only thing that I can think of is possibly using Earthquake and Shuca Berry over Meteor Mash and Lum Berry. Although I do get the ability to beat out Heatran, Metagross and Jirachi leads, I do lose the ability to get an attack raise due to Meteor Mash, and have a +1 Explosion, and I do inherit the 50/50 chance of losing to Machamp leads, and losing to Roserade leads. Therefore, I think that I will keep my lead Metagross how he is. Although, with the rise of Heatran leads, an Occa or Shucca would work tremendously, but I'm not sure which one to use.

Lead Matchup against the most common leads:
(Green will mean Easy Matchup, Orange requiring some prediciton, and Red will mean to switch out or lose the lead matchup)
482.png
Azelf - Azelf is a relatively easy lead to handle, especially if they Taunt on the first turn, which mean they wouldn't get rocks up assuming Meteor Mash hits. Every Azelf lead set is handle by the combination of Meteor Mash and Bullet Punch.

068.png
Machamp - With the current set I am running, I can beat Machamp leads every time. If I changed to Shucca or Occa lead set, then I inherit a 50/50 chance of losing to Machamp, but gain other lead match-ups. Turn one I put Stealth Rocks up, then Turn 2 I explode.

142.png
Aerodactyl - Aerodactyl is another easy lead considering I stick to this Lum Berry Set. I handle him the same way as I do Azelf, meaning if he Taunts on Turn one then it is even better.

376.png
Metagross - Metagross is a semi-threat to my Metagross as of right now. I put rocks up on Turn one, if they Earthquake, I switch to Gyarados to bait the explosion, then switch into Gengar to take the Explosion. If they are running the same set as mine, then it is just a matter of who gets the attack raise, and who explodes on who.

260.png
Swampert - Swampert's are not that hard to handle. I outspeed to get rocks up, the proceed to Explode turn two for the KO.

485.png
Heatran - Heatran is a lead who I currently have to get rocks up, and switch out immediatly. I run the risk of being OHKO'd by Overheat, and SpecsTran can KO with Fire Blast or Earth Power. Even running a Shucca or Occa set, It would still be a gamble to beat a Heatran in a lead match-up. For right now, I switch into Gyarados to take the Overheat or Earth Power, and set up DD's because they will always switch out.

385.png
Jirachi - Jirachi is not all the challanging in the lead position. If it is a TrickScarf varient, then we both get rocks up, except that now Metagross is a fast time bomb waiting to explode on something.

407.png
Roserade - Roserade's are easily handle by this set. Unless Meteor Mash misses, I can dispatch of Roserade untouched thanks to Lum Berry curing the sleep. This is another lead match-up that is lost if I switch the set. Meteor Mash + Bullet Punch on this baby.

450.png
Hippodown - Hippodown is an easy matchup for me, meaning we both get rocks up. As long as he doesn't Roar as I bring in Gyarados once rocks are up, he becomes 1-2 free DD's thanks to Taunt.

130_Gyarados.jpg

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 156 HP / 60 Atk / 96 Def / 196 Spe
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Bounce

Why this set: Bulky DDos is by far the star of this team. Once he has two Dragon Dance's up, there is no stopping him. He can come in on many attacks, such as Heatran's Fire Blast, any Ground type move, as well as Fighting moves due to Intimidate. Once he stops the attacker, they switch while I DD on the switch. My opponent for some reason always thinks they can bring in a phazer and phaze him out, but then they become Taunt bait, calling for more DDs. I use Waterfall for obvious reasons and for STAB, but I chose Bounce over Stone Edge/Earthquake/Ice Fang because he gets STAB on it, he is unable to be attacked by anything bar Machamp in the air, meaning an extra Leftovers recovery turn, and Bounce also has the chance to paralyze the opponent. This pokemon works wonders with the rest of the team, so I don't think I will be replacing it any time soon. I recently changed the EV's to 60 Atk, and 196 Spe to outrun Jolly Flygon after 2 DDs, who normally is one of the only pokemon who can stop Gyarados sweeping. Aside from Flygon, all Rotom Appliances are very annoying and try to stop his sweep. If get 1 DD up, Rotom is only 2HKO'd meaning I have to switch out, or hope for the 30% chance of flinch with Gyarados, which doesn't seem all that reliable.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggested Changes: The only other form of Gyarados I can see running on this team would be a Jolly DDos. The team wouldn't benefit all that much from it though, thanks to my set working to rip apart stall.

Flygon2.jpg

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP
- Outrage
- Stone Edge
- U-Turn
- Earthquake

Why this set: What more is there to say than ScarfGon. He is the most potent revenge killer in the OU Metagame. Although his stats aren't Uber material, his typing, Speed Tier and Moveset could be called Uber. With the access to STAB Ground and Dragon Attacks, he is a force to be reckoned with. Earthquake is there for obvious STAB, as well as to rip through most Heatrans, Metagross's, Jolteons, Jirachi's and many more. U-Turn is there for Scouting mid-game, as well as to see the counter they have to ScarfGon. Stone Edge is there to counter other teams Gyarados, Zapdos and Togekiss. If I run Thunderpunch, Zapdos is a huge problem to this team. Flygon also functions as a Ground Resistance, as well as an Electric Immunity which is huge for my team. I have been thinking of Flygon's moveset with moves like Stone Edge, Fire Blast or anything else but, there is no way I am switching him out of my team. I just recently switched to Jolly Flygon. Jolly Flygon can revenge a +2 Tyranitar, as well as speed tie with other Jolly Flygons. Overall, it really helps out for this team. Flygon's typing is key for this team, take electric attacks aimed at Gyarados and Ground attacks that just rule the tier. Usually after Metagross goes boom, I switch in Flygon and use the appropriate move. Most people predict Flygon to use U-Turn early in the game, but are disappointed when their Heatran or Gengar falls to Earthquake and Outrage respectively. I know I said he is the most important part of my team, but it is great having an early lead, and I usually have an answer to anything that switches in.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggested Changes: Flygon's typing is really a staple on this team and I couldn't switch him out. The only set that I think would be viable would be BaitGon, with something like U-Turn, Earthquake, Draco Meteor and Fire Blast/Roost. Although that would probably never happen, Flygon is staying on my team.

Rotom.jpg

Rotom-H @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EV's: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 6 HP
-Shadow Ball
-Substitute
-Discharge
-Toxic

Why this set: SubToxic Rotom was a set I had in mind for a long time. With Rotom's wide variety of sets, pokemon like Gengar, Gyarados, Metagross, Skarmory and more switching out when first seeing a Rotom, that is a perfect opportunity to set up a Substitute. Once behind a sub, Rotom can fire off one of his poweful STAB attacks, or attempt to Toxic Stall out a stat upper, or a pokemon my team has trouble with. Toxic is a surefire counter for Offensive Cune, Zapdos and Jolteon, three problematic pokemon to this team. Rotom's typing is crucial to this team, resisting Electric and Steel, and immune to Fighting, Ground and Normal type attacks. I just replaced Thunderbolt with Discharge. Although it has lower Base Power, it gains a 30% chance to Paralyze the opponent, which helps against those pesky steels who switch in once they figure out he is a SubToxic Rotom. This Rotom almost functions as a double Status Rotom but with my own little twist.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggested Changes: Scarfed Rotom would be overkill with Choice Scarf Pokemon on this team, even if he carries Trick. Specs Rotom would hit very hard and work well, but again 3 Choice users is a bit overkill. Defensive Rotom could work well, with Will-o-Wisp could work, but most physical threats are checked by my team pretty well. Double Status Rotom could be good for this team, but the loss of Substitute makes Rotom predict a lot more. A different Appliance could be used to bluff Leaf Storm or Hydro Pump, but bluffing Overheat works just well for now.

Tyranitar.jpg

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sandstream
Nature: Adamant
EV's: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe
-Crunch
-Pursuit
-Stone Edge
-Superpower

Why this set: I replaced Scarf Scizor for something more powerful, who still can reliable check the ghosts my team, BandTar. He still can reliable check all the ghosts types with his STAB Crunch and Pursuit. Superpower and Stone Edge provide ehh coverage in the OU metagame, but I'm not switching attacks thanks to the Choice Band, so I would like being locked into one of his STABs. Crunch has the raw power to 2HKO most of the bar all of the Steel types. Superpower is used to check the likes of Blissey, and hit switch-ins pretty hard. Stone Edge can OHKO Zapdos after Stealth Rocks, as well as hit Dragonite and Gyarados fairly hard. Pursuit is to catch those feeling ghosts, who think they can predict me using Crunch. BandTar provides the much needed physical power of this team, as Gyarados requires setup, and he doesn't.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggested Changes: TyraniBoah would work well, to eliminate Blissey, but for nothing else. ScarfTar would be redundant, being that it checks the same things as Flygon. DD Tar could work as well, but another setup sweeper would be too much seeing I have Empoleon and Gyarados. Although my team doesn't really appreciate the Sand Storm, Tyranitar is probably going to stay.

empoleon0.jpg

Empoleon @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Timid
EV's: 24 HP / 232 Spe / 252 SAtk
-Agility
-Hydro Pump
-Grass Knot
-Ice Beam

Why this set: I can't harp on it enough how effective this set is. Once an Agility is up, Empoleon is deadly. Hydro Pump is used over Surf for greater power, as well as for the ability to OHKO min HP Magnezone, and max HP Tyranitar most of the team with Stealth Rocks in play. Grass Knot is there for the OHKO on Swampert, who otherwise would wall this set and KO with Earthquake. Ice Beam is there to counter Celebi, who is OHKO as well as all of the Dragons who like to switch into this set. With Life Orb attached and some prior damage, Empoleon can knock him self into Torrent range. Once in Torrent range, every pokemon in the game is taking incredible damage from Hydro Pump, aside from Blissey and Snorlax. 232 Speed EV's and a Timid Nature puts me at 428 Speed after an Agility, allowing me to outspeed and KO Timid ScarfTran. Between him and Gyarados, the teams are usually broken down by the time one of them wants to sweep, causing for it to be easy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggested Changes: SubPetaya is a efficient set, but lacks the coverage that this set does. SubPetaya also needs to be paired with Toxic Spikes, something this team doesn't necessarily need, and would cause one of the other pokemon to be replaced. HP Electric can be used over Grass Knot to counter Gyarados, but isn't all that necessary because he is 2HKO'd by Grass Knot. Empoleon really does wonders for this team.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion This team really does wonders on countering to days metagame, dominating F/W/G cores. Its not often you see a team with their two MVPs water pokemon, but due to the rise in Heatran usage I feel it is very appropriate. A Rapid Spinner would be great for this team, but I dont know who I could replace and which pokemon to use. This team really focuses in on that Offensive synergy is strong and a good way to win games.

Threat List: There is only a few notable threats to this team. If you see any that I am missing, please feel free to tell me and how they threaten this team.

dpiconani242.gif
Stall: Stall is a really pain for me. Blissey causes the most problems because she walls Empoleon completely. Once Blissey is all gone, Taunt stops most stall members, and once Gyarados has 2 DD's up, Stall is ripped up. SubRotom is a new addition to my team. Once behind a Sub, he can Toxic most non steel pokemon on a stall team, and Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball the pokemon who eat Toxic. Rotom is really good at countering stall.

dpiconani479.gif
Rotom Appliances: Scarf'd Rotom is a big threat to this team, if Flygon is down. Due to Gyarados's +1 Waterfall only being a 2HKO, he is not a reliable check. Rotomr's Shadow Ball does around 87%, but also isn't a KO. Rotom's really have to be played around, and Flygon is really important in that. His electric immunity plays a huge role in it, and now with BandTar on the team, he can Pursuit it or Crunch it for the KO.

dpiconani145.gif
Zapdos: Zapdos's are very problematic. Flygon and Tyanitar can take Thundebolts, Empoleon and Gyarados can take Hidden Power Ice and Heat Wave. Rotom can get a Toxic in on Substitute lacking Zapdos, and limit his time in the battle. Overall, Zapdos has to be played around a lot. With the new addition of BandTar, he can OHKO with Stone Edge, assuming it hits.

dpiconani135.gif
Electric Attacks: Fast powerful electric STAB attacks from the likes of Rotom, Jolteon and Starmie break down this team. Naturally, a team focused around two Water Pokemon sweeping will have trouble with Electric attacks. Flygon can absorb them, but can't do anything in return beside lock himself into Earthquake, or U-Turn on the likes of Starmie. Tyranitar can also Pursuit or Crunch him, but has to be wary of Hydro Pump.

Hi there, it seems like you quite a solid team on your hands. However, it seems as though you are strikingly weak to two notable threats - both Agility Metagross and bulky variants of dragon dance Gyarados as both of the aforementioned threats can easily sweep your team seeing as how you don't posses any effective checks or switch-ins (although you Gyarados could be a decent counter to AgiliGross if it lacks Thunderpunch).

499.png

Rotom-h @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 Spd
Bold nature (+Def,-Atk)
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp

To remedy this problem you team has, I suggest using a defensive Rotom-h variant over your current Gengar. Rotom-h can easily check both of the aforementioned threats and proceed to KO them with either Overheat (for Metagross) or Thunderbolt (for Gyarados). Also, Rotom can also possibly incapacitate them for the entire battle with Will-O-Wisp which also makes them decent set-up fodder for your other sweepers. I hope this helped, and good luck.

There isn't really much to rate, i can't see any big weakness other than Gyarados, but your Flygon can revenge-kill that, Zapdos also threatens this team. Especially offensive Zapdos, a moveset of Thunderbolt / Heat Wave can really hurt this team.

For that, i suggest switching ThunderPunch to Stone Edge to be able to revenge kill Zapdos while still being able to hit Gyarados hard.

Good team, i really like it, and good luck!

The team's solid, and I don't see much to improve. I would suggest you to play carefully with Flygon because every single Pokemon on your team besides from it gets swept by Choice Specs Thunderbolt (Scizor's BP only does around half). Other than that, the team is good overall.

Hi I got your PM,

To start I think you should tryout LO rotom-w, it can take hits and recover with pain split and it can deal a lot of damage to foes with the correct move or you can use a scarf version to take care of stall and have a chance of tying with other scarf appliances. I would also suggest a tyranitar over flygon because t-tar is a great check to the likes of zapdos. I would say go with DD or scarf because DD can raise speed and power and scarf can give you immediate speed. If you want more raw power then tryout the CB set or maybe the tyraniboah set, it has helped me in the past against zapdos.

Good Luck!

Hey I got your message, cool team with some nice defensive synergy. I won't alter too much, but I'm going to confess I don't like Empoleon. Agility LO isn't really the best way to go on him, and really I have a cool replacement. I looked at your threats list, you claimed stall, Zapdos and Rotom applicances, and you wished you had a rapid spinner. I IMMEDIATELY thought of LO Rapid Spin Starmie, over Empoleon. Firstly he's just a much better sweeper in my opinion, and he just fucks fwg cores in the face. Secondly, he's an awesome stall breaker. As soon as you switch him in, your opponent has a dilemna- should I switch in Blissey, only to have all of my hazards spun, or my Rotom, who will have to eat a Hydro Pump in the face? Either way it sucks to be them, and I can't think of a stall team that has an easy time against him. His Ice beam can really fuck up Zapdos, and like I said he can catch rotom forms on the switch for some nasty damage.

Now that you're a bit better off against Zapdos, why not run Thunder Punch on Flygon? It's usually the better option, and while you have a lot of shaky checks to Gyarados (Gyarados, Starmie, Metagross) you have no full on counters and a quick option couldn't hurt.

Beyond that, cool team, you might take some of the above suggestions regarding an offensive Rotom form- my personal favourite is SubToxic, which really beats up stall, but I think testing a wide variety of Rotom sets will get you want you want there. I hope this helps.

One thing I'd like to say is in regards to Furai's response. It's valid, but I really don't reccomend 2 scarfers on a team. Just saying....also, I'm not sure aboutLum Meatgross. I find that not as many people run sleep leads anymore, so you may want to change Metagross's item to Leftovers or Life Orb if you want. Lastly, as ShinyAzelf said, Thunderbolt is very dangerous to your team, so be extra careful with Flygon.

Hi MazeL,

I think this is the second team that I remember seeing from you, and it does seem relatively solid in general. Wifi is obviously a different metagame, but the threat list that you've written up is pretty accurate. This team does have some problems with stall (although this is a far less common playstyle over Wifi), and Electric-types immune to Ground such as Rotom and Zapdos are rather difficult to take down. However, I'm also concerned about a weakness to opposing Water-types, LO Starmie and Offensive Suicune in general.

Starmie's main threat comes from its speed and type coverage, allowing it to outpace and 2HKO the majority of your team. If you can manage to get Flygon in on a Thunderbolt, you could U-turn it for some super-effective damage, but this strategy is unreliable and very predictable over the long run. A well-played Starmie could certainly sweep through your team after some residual damage.

Suicune is perhaps an even bigger problem. Offensive variants can easily come in and check Gyarados, and even set up a Calm Mind in certain situations. From then on, Suicune becomes very difficult to take down due to its large amount of bulk. Your only super-effective move against it happens to be Empoleon's Grass Knot, but Suicune will survive that attack and hit back hard with HP Electric. Empoleon's use of Life Orb also ensures that it doesn't have much durability, so this may not be a good strategy either. Metagross can use Explosion in a pinch, but good players will be able to predict it and switch to a Ghost-type. Suicune also deals heavy damage to Metagross with a boosted Surf / Hydro Pump, meaning it could even KO if Metagross has taken prior damage.

Reading through your descriptions, it seems that a Breloom once occupied the place of Scizor. While I don't recommend changing back to Breloom, I think that a bulkier Grass-type may be a good replacement to consider in that position, as it would allow you to switch in and threaten bulky Water-types. It would also help you out somewhat against Rotom and Zapdos by giving you a crucial resistance to Electric, which currently only Flygon possesses. While Scizor's access to a strong priority move in Bullet Punch does allow it to check some opposing threats, it is considerably less useful in the current metagame than it was when Salamence and Latias were around, so I'd like to recommend that you at least try out an Offensive Leech Seed Shaymin in its spot:
492_30_0.png

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 68 SpA / 188 Spe
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power Fire

This set happens to be great against both offensive and stall teams. Offensively-based teams tend to switch Pokemon such as Heatran or choiced U-turners into Shaymin. The combination of Leech Seed + Protect makes things rather difficult for these switch-ins, as they must now take two turns of Leech Seed in addition to entry hazard damage every time they switch in. Seed Flare is obligatory for providing a strong, solid STAB attack, while HP Fire is helpful for taking out Scizor. Shaymin also happens to be bulky enough to survive a LO Ice Beam from Starmie, allowing it to KO back with Seed Flare, but you should still play carefully around that particular threat.

Good luck with your team!

The thing regarding replacing Empoleon with Starmie is that once I can get an Agility up with Empoleon, Rotom and Zapdos because both are KO'd by Hydro Pump and Ice Beam. I know Rapid Spin would help wonders against stall, but Stall isn't to big of a problem on Wi-Fi, and this team has countered it pretty well.

I updated the RMT with a new team member, and I updated the threat list. If you could spot out any blaring weaknesses and how I can patch them up would be great.

Hi MazeL, I received your PM.

This is a pretty cool team, however I would like to suggest a few changes. Life Orb Empoleon is a really cool and really underestimated sweeper. While most favour the Sub Petaya Empoleon, Life Orb can set up a sweep more than once [Petaya only works once] and has superior type coverage to hit both bulky waters and grass-types. Anyway, onto the changes.

Scarf Scizor is a really cool Pokemon and is able to get surprise kills on Starmie and Celebi / Shaymin. However, I would like to suggest another Pokemon that can really help patch up a few weaknesses and aid Empoleon's sweep as well. This Pokemon is Passho Heatrap. As I am sure you know, this Heatran has the ability to lure out bulky waters and Blissey, trap and proceed to KO them with the appropriate attack. This gives Empoleon a much better chance to sweep. Heatran also has a fair bit of mid-game use, switching into Rotom, and to a lesser extent, Zapdos, who are both quite large threats to this team [as you outlined]. The Heatran set is:

Heatran @ Passho Berry
Hasty | Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Magma Storm / HP Grass / Earth Power / Explosion

On top of Heatran, I would like to ask you to try out a few other changes. While I don't outright suggest them, they may work better for you. I think it is worth considering the Shaymin Faladran suggested, as it is a solid switch-in to almost every water-type. Earlier Gyarados was your best Scizor switch-in, but now that you have Heatran, Gyarados is not required as much, because Heatran is arguably a better switch-in, and although it can fall to a Superpower or might miss with Magma Storm, it does not have to take the huge amount of damage from Stealth Rock, that Gyarados has to take every time it comes in. Shaymin ties up a lot of your weaknesses, and when partnered with Heatran, you have Rotom and Zapdos pretty much 100% covered.

Just so you know, I definitely agree with keeping Empoleon and not replacing it with Starmie.

Good team and good luck!

Thank you Heist for the good rate. HeatTrap could work very well with this team, but Scarf Scizor has really worked well. With Gyarados's main checks out of the way, Starmie, Rotom, Gengar and Jolteon, sweeping becomes much easier and I just have to be wary of Jolly Flygon before I get two DD's up.

I'd suggest you change your lead, especially if it is challenged by so many common leads, why don't you try this lead Gengar lead made by ShinyAzelf

Gengar @ Focus Sash
4Hp/252spa/252spe 0defIVs
Hasty
Icy Wind
Shadow Ball
Taunt
Counter

Then you can also replace your current non-lead gengar with Tyranitar, which happens to counter ghost types that counter Gengar

I also think rotom-a is a better choice than gengar, it just seems like defensive rotom would better handle things like offensive starmie (it survives hydro pump) and agiligross, gyarados, opposing scarf flygon, ect. In addition to this it still lures the tyranitar for empoleon to set up on. If you wont do this, then at least out explosion on gengar so it can clear blissey for empoleon, hp ice is a real waste.

Hello

This looks like a solid team and you already have gotten a lot of constructive rates so my suggestions will just be minimal.

Looking at your team and threatlist I noticed that Suicune, Zapdos, Rotom-a are a threat to your team. This are all special attackers and thus can be taken care of by a special wall. Therefor I suggest using Snorlax instead of the Empoleon you are using now. Snorlax can take hits from aformentioned pokemon with relative ease and he can even try to set up one them. Snorlax also provides your team with a status absorber. If he is the last guy on your team, it cannot be phazed away so it also makes a good pokemon that can threaten stall. There are a few kinds of Snorlax you could try. First is the basic Curselax. If you use this one use a Careful nature and an EV spread of 188 HP / 104 Def / 216 SpD. Obviously Thick Fat will be the ability you want as you don't want your Gyarados and Flygon to keep switching into Heatran (Specs Overheat hurts) especially with Stealth Rocks up. Leftovers is the prefered item, but you could also go with Chesto Berry. A moveset of Curse / Body Slam / Rest / Fire Punch will suffice. An other type of Snorlax you could use is slightly more offensive variant. With access to Pursuit he can make sure Starmie and Rotom will not bother you any more. I know your team is based around 2 Water pokemon sweeping so this is just a suggestion.

I also think the Rotom suggestion is a good one, if you are able to use them on Wifi.

Hope this suggestion helped!

Hi Mazel,

To be honest, I don't have enough to say to actually form a very thorough rate. The team looks solid enough as is, although I still find Offensive Suicune, and most bulky Water-types in general, to be somewhat difficult to deal with. I still think that fitting in a Grass-type somewhere on the team would help fix this issue, but each team member already serves a pretty useful purpose, so finding a place for it is somewhat difficult. If you really want to replace Scarf Scizor, then Shaymin would be a good fit, as the two have similar typings in the sense that both are weak to Fire. Keep in mind though, that Choice Scarf Scizor makes for a reliable check to opposing Gengar and Starmie. On the other hand, Leech Seed + Protect Shaymin is remarkably useful against both stall and offense, and can cause problems even for solid switch-ins such as Heatran with its access to Leech Seed to drain health and Protect to scout for choiced attacks and gain an extra turn of recovery. This tactic, along with the use of Leftovers, ensures that Shaymin stays at good health if played correctly, despite its lack of a recovery move.

Good luck!

I don't know if it is just me, but I have been testing Leech Seed/Protect Shaymin and It just doesn't fit in my team or how I play. I did try your suggestion, I just don't really know how to use it on my team, or I am unsure of what Shaymin's role is with that moveset. Thank you Faladran.

Hey MazeL, here's your rate! Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot to say, because your team is already really solid. However, I'd go with Thunderpunch over Stone Edge on Flygon, simply because Stone Edge never hits (at least for me -_-") and with T-Punch, you can easily revenge kill a +1 Gyarados, without having to worry about accuracy issues. If you're worried about Zapdos, you've got the SubToxic Rotom to handle it.

Also, I'd definitely like to see Superpower on Scizor, you don't need Night Slash.

This was already a good team to begin with, and after reading everyone else's suggestions, there isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said.

Good luck with the team! =)

Got your second message, not much to add now. I'm personally very much a fan of scarf scizor so I think he's cool. The only gripe I have is dual scarfers- I'm just not a fan. You might try a CB Flygon or something over him- although you may find scarf still useful on him.

Also, on Scizor, Superpower is fantastic over Night Slash- it gives you a great answer to SD Lucario, Heatran in a pinch, and Magnezone trying to get cute. Night Slash isn't really that useful either, because if Starmie or Gengar are staying in, U turn or Bullet Punch will dispatch them.

Like I said, not much to rate, cool team. Hope this helps.

Rating this team once again as requested. Hi MazeL, to be honest, this team looks really solid in its current state so there's not much I can say or suggest which hasn't been mentioned before, however to make this second rate useful, I suggest trying out Shaymin, which was previously recommended by Faladran but with a different set. As he mentioned, this team is still slightly vulnerable to offensively oriented water types I suggest trying out a LO offensive Shaymin variant over the leech seed set Faladran suggested due to this team being quite offensive; this change can help with your team's slight weakness to the likes of Suicune and Vaporeon while still being able to cause major dents in the opponent's team when looked at individually. I hope this helped and good luck once again!
