Ok, thanks AR. That was pretty much c&ped from another poster, I should have checked it through a bit better. But still, I feel as if Heracross is oh so much rarer than it used to be. If it makes such a great counter for Rotom formes (something that is in pretty high demand) and its own no 1 counter is so rarely seen, then does anyone have an explanation for why it is so uncommon?
I'm pretty sure Heracross isn't "one of the best imaginable" counters. It probably won't OHKO with Night Slash unless it is burned and has a Choice Band (most have Choice Scarf), and it doesn't like being paralyzed and definately not Overheat. Plus, although it 'counters' Rotom, it won't enjoy being locked into an un-Stabbed Night Slash which a majority of Steel-types resist, not to mention Lucario.
And this is why Heracross isn't seen very much. Lucario outclasses it in the sweeper department, and teams don't need another Fire weakness added onto their steels. Bullet Punch is probably the main reason, and also Naive ScarfTran, who outspeeds adamant Heracross.
