Are you suggesting that nothing will ever change regarding the Smogon's rules to DPP ever again?
There's no point in discussing anything if not to stoke the tides of change in due time (if the decision is controversial or unpopular, which I believe this is if for no reason but it oversimplifies a complex problem and axes more than is necessary).
