Dusclops (Placeholder)

I guess I must repeat myself.

DO NOT USE NIGHT SHADE OVER SEISMIC TOSS.

You will NOT stay against Ghost-type Pokemon, because they can AND WILL damage you super-effectively. Normal-type Pokemon are the ones you want to wall. Seismic Toss is always the better option and Night Shade should not even be mentionned anywhere.

Burn or Toxic will both work well against most Normal-types (who are, for the most part, physical attackers, anyhow). And Normal-types are almost nonexistent outside of Chansey/Blissey, who you stall anyhow. Togekiss is pretty much the only other Normal-type out there, and it can easily set up on you regardless of Seismic Toss due to access to Roost, unless you are using Toxic (in which case, it will end up dying, I believe, even if you use Night Shade instead). I'm sorry, but I don't see the point. It can wall Normal-types regardless of if it has Seismic Toss or Night Shade. May as well get a hit on any Ghost-types switching in to suck up a falsely predicted Seismic Toss.

Yeah use Night Shade; you lose to the never-seen blissey instead of the seldom seen ghost types...

Trick Room deserves more credit than it's getting. Night Shade is a (bear with me here) surprisingly powerful move and Dusclops just does not die. Hilariously, it can pull off mini-sweeps when people underestimate Night Shade damage.

Night Shade/TR/Will-o-Wisp/Pain Split is best and (TBH) probably the main reason one should use dusclops in the first place.

A couple rounds ago when I ran Dusclops on my stall team, I found a physically defensive spread more effective in more games, something like 252/176 def/80 spD bold. The reasoning was so I could block Excadrill and counter Terrakion will-o-wisp% of the time, who could otherwise tear up a stall team. I also ran Ice Beam on it for a decent attack that could let me hit things like Landorus and Garchomp HARD, but Seismic Toss alongside Will-o-wisp seems more effective overall. I even considered Psych Up with Shadow Ball to deal with Reuniclus, but boosting up against it with a Dusclops is not practical.

Overall-

Physical defense lets it take on huge threats to stall teams- Garchomp, Excadrill, Terrakion etc. that very few pokemon can- Cofagrigus can block Excadrill but he misses out on Pain Split and has less bulk, no other ghost can take him, and very few things can take Terrakion's hits, Dusclops is even better than Gliscor at taking him on. Ice Beam can go alongside Seismic Toss so you can cripple Chomp/Landorus without risking them setting up a substitute.

Maybe mention a RestTalk/Shadow Ball/CM set. I don't know of a normal type who can beat this at PP stalling, so your attacks are unresisted and your bulk will be absolutely astonishing. You will have to answer to Tyranitar (easy to lure in and KO with Lati+HP Fighting), and Reuniclus/Sigilyph give it stiff competition. This is why I would put it in other options- its not the best set but it can still be good if you want to support it.

Name: Pain Split
Move 1: Pain Split
Move 2: Will-o-Wisp
Move 3: Torment / Seismic Toss
Move 4: Night Shade / Seismic Toss
Item: Evolite
Nature: Careful
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
IVs: 0 HP

I think the less HP, the better. As for the 2nd last slot I think Torment would be helpful but then again, it's best if you listen to GtM. You could also use
Night Shade and Seismic Toss together for perfect coverage.
personally i dnt think having no hp EVs is a good idea, even with the evolite i'v had my dusclops 1HKO.....hes just too feeble, bt this is probably the best moveset ur gona find for him, unless you want to replace torment with toxic.

Ok, this thread hasn't seen any updates in nearly 2 months, so I'm allowing Husky to take over this analysis since he has expressed interest in writing it.
