Heh, funny thing about the title of this thread. I too was disappointed that Retro's game was another Donkey Kong... till it was revealed that the guy who is composing the game is fucking DAVID WISE! AKA the same guy who wrote the music for Donkey Kong Country 2 and the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country 3. DKC2 has one of my all time favorite soundtracks in a game, and combine that with the fact that I think DKCR is the best game in the series gameplay wise... and I guess I'll have to get Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for xmas at least!

I'm happy about this decision and that Microsoft didn't leave their next gen console for dead. I can't say I applaud Microsoft for this decision at all though; this feels analogous to scalding a child for failing a class and then having him pull it up to a C. The movement towards a more Xbox 360 2.0 ideal is one I'm happy about, but I still don't foresee me buying one in the near future. The bundled Kinect / $500 price tag / lack of first party exclusives I'm interested are all deal breakers for me personally at the moment.

i think that it makes sense tbh. a lot of people were fans of xbox who were very annoyed/slightly betrayed? with the changes, so they're still probably angry - a lot of them probably won't/don't want to get over it.

i'm a little mixed about this, though. cool that the successor of my first console [fatbox hnnnng] is back in the fray, but at the same time, i feel that microsoft never really does anything particularly novel; most of its ips are fpses, and i think that if they dropped, whichever newcomer that decided to take their place [assuming there was one, i guess] might be a bit more innovative with its titles. eh - maybe just me, though.
