NOC Electoral Mafia - Game thread

Nah they def have a nightkill.

Anyways I voted for whatever the invest has for their role but in a 10v4 (3 cycles worst case scenario) blind voting will just lose us the game 80% of the time, so basically we're desperate for invest results and I would even say that no vote is ideal for d1
I'm normally always against no vote but I feel like that could be an interesting angle here, as I assume most of town has PRs and it could give us insight on how the mafia NK works. Plus we're unlikely to hit scum D1 with 4 scum unless all of town locks in

The thing is, I assume that town also has roles that work with the voting system, so if we no vote we might lose some PR value (and if we try to tie the vote, a mayor could ruin the tie)
my issue is that i do think mafia might have something that works on people who voted under certain conditions, and we can't risk feeding them free kills in a 10v4 setup

^yeah I’ve stated in past games that I’m never in favor of a no vote and I feel even more strongly here. With the votes being the main mechanic in this game I feel like we need as much information as possible and a no vote gives us less information than voting someone out

I think he was joking but it might be the case. 4:10 is definitely more mafia than normal (3:10) and this game seems to be centered around votes so it does kind of emanate the sense of being a pseudo mountainous game where likely many/most roles are vote oriented.
fwiw my role involves votes in like a peripheral way

Hiiii first time playing mafia too but I’m very excited

I can’t imagine there are many ways for the vote system to tie into the mafia kill action, I think mafia being able to kill who voted for them is highly plausible but what do I know
this makes a lot of sense to me too

or these are two ideas anyway
1) randomly kill a random person (or random town) who voted for x wagon (where they specify the wagon) at EOD
2) kill a selected person who voted for the winning wagon

cannot agree with a no vote with how little actual info we have about mafia nk. going no vote off of hypotheticals and theories can only hurt, even if it’s beneficial to us somehow we couldn’t make use of it bc we wouldn’t know how it helped us

I agree with this sentiment anyway, but I think you may be onto something here. Either that or the exact opposite where only clean players can get killed. Though if everyone gets a vote then mafia couldn’t NK so probably more likely to be what you said

Don’t listen to jalmont I don’t want to mass claim lol
It could be that (clean players), I assume maf would rather NK someone who won't get votes than someone who has

WIFOM = wine in front of me = circular logic that is impossible to gain real information from (example: they could have doing X because of Y which is towny, but that's what they want us to think so it's scummy, etc. which leads to a dead end))
OMGUS = oh my god you suck = scumreading or voting someone because they are bad and scumread you
CFD = chinese fire drill = rapidly change votes at the deadline leading to chaos
angleshooting = making a read or gaining information from out of thread circumstances, often in bad spirit (example: Player X is ghosting the thread but was last seem "engaged in conversation" 3 minutes ago, so they might be typing to their scum team)
AtE = appeal to emotion = trying to emotionally manipulate somebody to do something favorable for you
bussing = mafia teammate scumreads/votes another teammate to "distance" and look like they aren't a team
ISO = in search of = looking at all the posts of a certain player (example: Player X's ISO shows that in 20 posts they haven't had game relevant talk)
tunnel = strongly push an agenda, so hard that you lose focus of facts and reality
UTR = under the radar
hammer = majority of votes on one player = end of day, that person is voted off
AI/NAI = (non) alignment indicative (example: his post is AI because he was very defensive and he is normally not defensive as town, OR his post is NAI because he is defensive as both town and mafia so it doesn't give us info)
tinfoil = focusing too much on the "what-ifs" rather than what is most likely
I'm gonna angleshoot that the PPL who liked my post are above rand town

Okay, how about if I claim and nobody else does?
I personally dont see the point
But that could change depending on what your role actually is
With most traditional "classes" (e.g. investigative, protecting, etc.) i would say it's not worth it unless your investigative is day-activatable and does something based off of votes (-> it actually gets us info right now)
