Ends with Curselax

This is my first attempt at a true stall team, and lately, even though I have been doing quite well, I feel as though I could do a lot better if my team was tweaked correctly.

Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/16 Atk/152 Def/88 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Ice Fang

Sets up the vital SS for my team that gets rid of annoying sashes yatta yatta yatta. Hippo has been seeming to be doing less and less each battle. Sure, he gets SR up and an attack in, but that's about it I've seen. Thinking about replacing him with TTar.

Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 168 HP/120 Def/220 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Return
- Rest
- Fire Punch

Good ol' Curselax. He was a beast then, and has remained so ever since. He is the centerpeice of my team. It is incredibly easy to get a curse in right off the bat, and fire punch helps with those predicted switches to Lucario and Scizor that are all the rage right now.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/176 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Wish
- Seismic Toss
- Flamethrower
- Protect

An odd set that I'm thinking of changing soon. I added charm because my team's special bulk heavily outweighs its special bulk, and it works perfectly with snorlax. Again, flamethrower for predicted switch ins and Celebi.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 160 HP/216 Spd/132 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Surf

Provides the ever so needed spinning that saves my team a lot of hell with repeated damage from SR. TBolt for a reliable answer to gyara. Also rapes mixape and further cements my team as not minding status much.

Roserade (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/6 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic Spikes

More stalling going on, and I need those toxic spikes pretty bad. Leech Seed provides my team with a surprisingly large amount of support, turning 2KOs into 3KOs and the like. I've noticed that lately, I don't get TS up as much as I would have liked. That, and not having a grass attack has costed me matches before. Probably the weakest part of my team.

Skarmory (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind

Standard skarm blah.

Mixape ruins this team if Vaporeon is dead or if it has more than one Nasty Plot. You could replace hippowdon with starmie to take care of infernape.

Nice team overall.

One thing I notice is that you lose to stall teams, especially if Roserade is eliminated early in the game, as it's your form of "spinning away Toxic Spikes". Dual wishers is indeed annoying, but a bit excessive in my opinion. I think something like Starmie in place of Vaporeon would help remove opposing entry hazards so that you can focus on setting up your own. Starmie would also add another natural cure user for you to abuse, and with Blissey/Snorlax, really annoy the opponent.

If you use that kind of logic in pokemon then any pokemon can beat any team.

As weird as it sounds, I'd actually go HP Electric > Yawn for more coverage against Gyarados, Rosarade and Skarmory are probably your answers to Gyarados, but I don't really see them doing much to Gyarados, and HP Electric Vaporeon will get the job done. Just a minor thing, consider Shed Shell on Skarmory, you have Roost and Leftovers is always a good item but I feel that if you get trapped by a Magnezone you will have problems since Skarmory is a special pokemon in all stall teams. Seismic Toss can be a good option on Blissey instead of Charm, when it comes down to stalling Blissey can end up facing a Zapdos or something and Seismic Toss can handle wear them down and help you against other Blisseys and such.

Point taken. Starmie will go in place of Vappy. However, I will miss that sleep inducing. I suppose I'll simply replace sub on roserade with sleep powder.

Thanks guys.

With Starmie, gyara won't be much of a problem anymore. Although, you are right. Skarmory has been incredibly valuable to me in every battle and if he were to die I would be succeptable to many, many more threats. Seismic Toss sounds good.

Didn't even notice you had Substitute. Definately run Sleep Powder over Sub to force switches to help spread your residual damage around. Although Yawn is a form of Pseudo-hazing, Skarmory can handle that fairly well.

try changing hippodown, since only 2 pokemons of your team are immune to the sandstorm, and none of them get benefit from it. perhaps donphan...

ok team ;)
