Something's wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
and they aren't of snow white

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragon's fire
and of things that will bite

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Hi Smogon, it´s me, helios, also known as -Sandman- in PO. The title is Enter Sandman because 1) It´s the name of one of my favorites songs and 2) because Tyranitar, the star of the team, summons Sandstorm.

After building lots of team, most of them unsuccessful, I came with this awesome team built around DD Tyranitar covering his counters and most popular metagame´s threats. If you take a closer look to this team, you´ll notice that it´s something that most players would name “semistall”. I know it´s sometimes cheap, but man, it´s awesome. With spikes, forcing switches and phazing, it´s just enough to cheap away most of Tyranitar´s counters who depend on the majority of their HP to counter him. It´s incredible how everybody has forgotten the real power of Tyranitar and how deadly it can be if you let it Dragon Dance just once. So, with any further words, let´s take a look to this team

TEAM BUILDING PROCESS

First I picked up DD Tyranitar because with 100 / 110 / 100 defenses –and sand stream, which summons sandstorm and increases its SDef-, and a tremendous attack of 134, made him worth of trying this set out.

248.png

Bulky grounds and Scizor counter (scizor checks) this beast, so Rest – talk Gyarados fitted very well in this place. This guy is awesome as it can take physical attacks with ease due to Intimidate.

248.png
130.png

In order to keep Gyarados alive, spinning service was needed. Forretress can spin and lay Stealth rock and spikes too, which may be crucial for Tyranitar whether killing bulky grounds or not. I chose rest-talk because it walled spore-punch breloom (if it lacks Stone Edge).

248.png
130.png
205.png

Now, I must have a spin blocker, so Rotom – W did well in this place, and it countered gyara pretty well. I tried many movesets, and the rest-talk version was the best because it´s pretty important to keep alive the spin blocker when running semi-stall.

248.png
130.png
205.png
479water.png

I needed a revenge killer, and also someone who could wall Rotom – A. ScarfTran is the best answer to this, as it can come 2/4 moves it throws you.

485.png

Hmmm… the last slot… I don’t really remember how many pokemon I tested here, and I finished using Leech Seed Shaymin, because it can come in Rotom´s Hydro Pump and Thunderbolt (Celebi can´t come in Shadow Ball), and leech seed keeps alive my team members.

A DEEPER LOOK
205.png

**Changes in red**
Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Payback
- Toxc Spikes

Ok, Forretress, the fortress pokemon. With just 1 weakness, being able to lay spikes, SR, and spin away, it is one of the best spikers and spinners in OU. With its metal typing, it can come in many moves – just like Kingdra´s and Flygon´s Outrage- and lay a lot of spikes. SR and Spikes are important in this team because it cheaps away HP´s pokemon, especially Tyranitar´s counters. Rapid Spin helps me clear the ground of SR, which Gyarados really appreciate, and spikes, letting ScarfTran come in more times. Payback will let me face opposing Gengars, Starmies and spinblockers.

The EVs are quite simple; max HP is a must here, and max SDef will let me set up in Vaporeon´s face. This guy has a naturally physically bulkiness, and it doesn´t really need any defensive EVs to take pretty well Metagross´ Earthquakes and Kingdra´s Outrages.

VS top 15 leads (ok I had to take them from shoddy´s statistics of August since PO doesn´t have them):
482.png
Azelf: Well… there´s four options here; taunt, SR, U-turn and Fire Blast. Heatran can come in all this attacks and 2 OHKO the pixie (due to focus sash) with Overheat, while Azelf´s explosion doesn´t OHKO him.
068.png
Machamp: Switch to Rotom – W during Dynamic Punch, and then to Gyarados in the Payback, who doesn’t really fear being confused. The point is taking away some of his HP, so another member can finish him.

142.png
Aerodactyl: Attempt to SR (I get taunted most of the time, but it´s worthy to try), then rapid spin, later, switch to Rotom – W and 2 OHKO him.

376.png
Metagross: Nice match up; SR + spikes and spin.

260.png
Swampert: The same as Metagross, the only thing that makes the difference is Roar, which doesn´t really matter.

392.png
Infernape: Switch to Gyarados before it sets up SR, and 2OHKO him.

485.png
Heatran: this guy is so unpredictable, it can throw you a lot of moves and you won´t be 100 sure of what moveset it is running, so I like to go by the reliable switc; go to Gyarados in the first turn because I have to figure out which moveset it is using; Choice specs or ShucaTran. And then, switch again because my opponent surely has a Gyara counter.

385.png
Jirachi: There´s usually 2 movesets it can run; paraflincher and trickscarf. Heatran may seem the obvious choice, but if it t-waves my Heatran, it´ll be a GG anticipated, so I stay in Forry in case he t-waves or uses SR. If jirachi tricks, I´ll have 2-3 layers of spikes when he finally switches away. If it uses Fire Punch, Forretress can survive, and Heatran is will be my response in the next turn.

407f.png
Roserade: Switch to Rotom – W in the first turn (take the sleep), later to Forretress (because I want to scout if it has HP fire or ice), and Heatran to threaten her. I can later spin the TS.

450.png
Hippowdon: Another great match up, SR + Spikes and spin for free.

121.png
Starmie: Hard guy; it has to die because it can come in mid-game and spin. When I face the starfish, I like switching to Shaymin to take its powerful STAB, and later to Heatran to finish him with HP elec.

149.png
Dragonite: Another tricky pokemon; switch to Gyarados during the FB, and later back to Heatran during its DM. From there, Heatran murders him.

248.png
Tyranitar: I am outdated about the moves it can do when it´s as a lead. I like switching to Heatran so I can scout if it will use Fire Blast or Stone Edge, and in that moment I´ll have an idea of what will it do.

480.png
Uxie: It´s the same as Jirachi; I use spikes in the first turn, so that it´ll get trapped in spikes. If it doesn´t give me his scarf, I´ll SR in the next turn.

492anime.png

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 112 SAtk / 144 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

- Leech Seed
- Synthesis
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power / Hidden Power [Fire]

Shaymin is the responsible of curing the team. In this place I had a wisher (vaporeon, I think), but it didn’t have the same synergy that this guy has. Celebi didn´t fit well in this place because ghost pokemon murdered it so easily. The only thing that Celebi has and Shaymin don´t is Recover; Synthesis just heals 25% when the weather isn’t clear, that´s why I just show Ttar in late-game. Shaymin has Seed Flare when Celebi can only run grass knot or energy ball, and Leaf Storm lets sweepers set up in her face. With Seed Flare, I can 2OHKO DD Gyarados and Suicune after rocks. With Earth Power, I can kill un-scarfed Heatran, as it can sweep my team when Gyarados is down. But with HP [Fire], Skarmory and Forretress won´t set up in me. Leech Seed is the reason of why Shaymin is here; it heals its teammates, for example Tyranitar coming in Rotom´s Overheat, and set up in its face while it is healed 8% per turn. I´m not running HP fire or Protect over Synthesis because without a healing move, Shaymin dies quickly.

485.png

Heatran (M) @ Shuca Berry
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Pulse

ShucaTran lays SR and lures Flygon to come; he takes his EQ while Flygon eats a Dragon Pulse. With Shuca Berry, he can take ground moves, and another Heatran´s Earth Power, as they are a great problem against this team. He also murders Jirachi and Rotom-A, the most common spin-blocker. He lays SR, letting Forretress lay Toxic Spikes. By adding Heatran, the Grass / Water / Fire combo is complete as a core and will abuse of entry hazards.

252 SAtk and Spe is a must; he needs agresive power. Shuca Berry cuts the damage from ground moves.

479-wash.png

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Spe / 8 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow ball
- Trick
- Overheat

Rotom-W is the spin-blocker of the team; it prevents my entry hazards being blow away. It is also the revenge killer; it outspeeds all the Dragon Dancers at +1, and it prevents SD / NP ape from sweeping my team. Thunderbolt kills Vaporeon, Suicune and Gyarados, Shadow ball revenge kills Gengars, and Overheat murders Forretress and Roserade. Trick cripples walls, which will be useful when facing stall and semistall.

Max speed and scarf gives the micro oven enough speed to outspeed metagame´s boosting sweepers, like DDancers, and its ghost typing stops SD luke, Ape and Agilitygross in their tracks.

130.png

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Roar
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Gyarados, the defensive sea serpent. It´s probably the most valuable member of the team; it prevents Heatran and Infernape from sweeping me. If this intimidating pokemon weren´t here, NP / SD Infernape would say gg. Also, it is sad how this is the only reliable Heatran switch-in because I don’t want to reveal Tyranitar because 1) He summons sandstorm and negates the leftovers recover and 2) The opponent will know who my last pokemon is; that´s why I have to keep him alive the entire match and keep my floor as clear as possible. But all this effort is rewarded; it is one of the most efficient physical walls, and it absorbs status moves, which makes it very useful. Its job here is countering the most part of physical sweepers, come in Heatran, defeat scizors, and damage bulky grounds enough so Tyranitar can finish them. Infernape, Lucario and Breloom think twice about staying because Gyarados is bulky as fuck. Rest cures any attack damage, status moves and indirect damage like SR. Sleep Talk throws random moves while asleep. Roar lets me phase stat up sweepers like DD kingdra, Dragonite or Lucario; it also abuses of the entry hazards and forces more switches. Waterfall is a reliable Stab move that has a good coverage.

The EVs were designed to take advantage of Gyarados´ natural bulkiness; with Impish nature, Intimidate and 252 Def, you´ll hardly OHKO him if it´s not an electric or rock move. 248 HP will let me come in SR 4 times without fainting. The rest were split in SDef because it does a difference when taking Heatran´s Fire Blast or Overheat.

248hgss.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
- Stone Edge

The star of the team. With its amazing defensive stats, the SDef boost during Sandstorm, its monstrous attack but poor speed, Tyranitar can destroy entire teams if they are not prepared. After a Dragon Dance, Ttar is as fast as ScarfTtar and strong as CBTtar; after 2 DD, it has outspeeded most of revenge killers, and it will OHKO or 2 OHKO every pokemon; after 3 DD, it´s a gg if Scizor doesn´t appear. Dragon Dance is the trick in this spread as it boosts the Attack and Speed. Crunch is the most reliable STAB move Tyranitar has and OHKO´s Celebi, Gengar, Rotom. Stone Edge is my solution for the annoying birds; Zapdos and Gyarados are killed even at +0 Atk. Fire punch is a low base power move, but it´s the only way the tyrant can kill Bronzong, Skarmory and Forretress with the enough Atk. With these 3 moves, the only pokemon that this beast has trouble to beat are bulky grounds and Machamp. Tyranitar can set up in many pokemon, even in Celebi´s Grass Knot or Vaporeon´s Surf, thanks to Tyranitar´s boosted SDef. Forretress is probably the best pokemon to set up because he can´t touch him. Rotom –A is the second best since they´ll flee or attempt to burn me; if the ghost is Scarfed, it is even easier to set up on him.

With Jolly nature and 252 Spd, Tyranitar will outspeed Starmie, Gengar and Azelf after a DD. Max Atk is obligatory so it can hit harder. Lum Berry will give him an extra turn to DD as it can cure status.

Some reasons why Tyranitar is a beast:
Flygon´s Earthquake vs. Ttar: 74.3% - 87.7%
252 SAtk Heatran´s Earth Power vs. Ttar: 57.9% - 68.4%
Vaporeon´s Surf vs Ttar: 64.9% - 77.2%
Celebi´s Grass Knot vs. Ttar: 75.4% - 89.5%
0 Evs Starmie´s Surf vs. Ttar: 59.6% - 70.8%
0 Evs Starmie´s Hydro Pump vs. Ttar: 75.4% - 89.5%
Scarfed Rotom-w Hydro Pump vs. Ttar: 66.1% - 77.8%

Well… the point is that Tyranitar can survive those attacks.

~Threat list~

142.png
Aerodactyl
Lead: I switch to Rotom-w and then t-bolt to death.
Life Orb: Switch to Gyrados in an EQ, then to Rotom-w and 2KO him

482.png
Azelf
Lead: Switch to Heatran during his FB / Taunt and use Fire Blast; if it fails, I´ll switch to Rotom-w to take the explosion.
NP sweeper: The same; switch on Heatran when he uses Fire Blast, and to OHKO back.

286.png
Breloom
Lead: Switch to Rotom-w to take the spore, then I figure out if it’s Scarfed or just the SporePunch.
SporePunch: Send Rotom-w in the Spore, then to Gyrados, and roar away; Tyranitar can deal with him when he sweeps. I like to control the number of turns asleep that Gyarados has, that´s why I don’t send in the Spore.

149.png
Dragonite
:
Dragon Dance: Heatran checks, Rotom-w burns, Gyarados can survive a +2 Outrage and roar away.
Lead: Switch to Gyarados, then Heatran and OHKO.
Choice Band: Hard; even if it is locked in Outrage, it can 2 OHKO everything in my team. In that case, I have to lay SR and waste his life, or just check using Heatran

466.png
Electrivire:
MixVire: (-.-) Too easy; Rotom-w, Shaymin and Heatran.

395.png
Empoleon:
Lead: Switch to Shaymin, and I´ll use Earth Power
SubPetaya: Shaymin counters him decently, if it run Ice beam, Gyarados does; anyways I don’t leave him set up.

330.png
Flygon
Choice: Forretress can come in everything and get at least a layer of spikes, especially in its Outrage, but it can u-turn out and switch to a reliable counter (almost everyone in OU :C)

094.png
Gengar:
Sub Split: Annoying as fuck; the only thing that can break its subs without many problems is Shaymin, once it doesn’t have them, Heatran can revenge pretty well (or just come in Shadow ball). Gyarados can Roar away if it doesn’t die due to SR.
Life Orb: Just make sure Heatran takes the Shadow ball and not the Focus blast and everything will be ok.

130.png
Gyarados:
LO DD Sweeper: Heatran outspeeds (unless it runs Jolly), and Rotom and Shaymin can wall pretty well.
Taunt DD: Easier to counter; Rotom-w doesn´t really fear him.
Rest+Sleep Talk: This guy is annoying as hell. First thing to do here is lay SR and don’t let it go away, second I can pressure him by showing the washing machine.

485.png
Heatran:
ShucaTran: Wow wow wow. If I don’t beat this guy quickly, it´ll take some team members with him to the grave. I have kill him 2 times by ground moves because Gyarados vs. Heatran is too obvious, and the volcano pokemon will flee; that´s why Forretress run EQ and because it´s a bitch.
Choice Scarf: Annoying to this team. Gyarados can come in everything but HP elec. SR kills the sea serpent. I don’t like switching Heatran vs Heatran because he may predict that and use Earth Power
Life Orb: Even more annoying; Gyarados starts to fail countering him, and Heatran check him. If it uses substitute + HP Elec, it´s a gg.

392.png
Infernape:
Mixape: Gyarados walls all his sets, except thunderpunch / HP elec.
Choice: Gyarados walls him, and entry hazards finish him.
Lead: Gyarados.

385.png
Jirachi:
Scarf: Gyarados and entry hazards finish him.
ParaFlicher: Gyarados
CalmMind: I like burning it or leech seeding, because it makes it easier to kill through Shaymin´s Earth Powers. Heatran revenge kills pretty well.

135.png
Jolteon
:
Choice Specs: T-bolt to Rotom-w and Shaymin, Shadow ball to Heatran.
Life Orb: Just switch to Heatran in Shadow ball and kill.

230.png
Kingdra:
Dragon Dance: Switch to Gyarados, so they´ll be forced to Outrage, instead of staying, I switch again to Forry, so I can get some spikes on the field. Gyarados anyways roars.

448.png
Lucario:
Swords Dance: Heatran Checks, Shaymin outspeeds, and Gyarados counters him.
Agility: Gyarados OWNS him

068.png
Machamp:
Lead: Switch to Rotom-w, then to Gyarados during the payback and weaken him enough so somebody can finish him.
Sub + 3 attacks: This set is hard to counter; I can WoW him but payback would still do too much damage; I can also roar him but SE will do plenty damage.

462.png
Magnezone:
Choice Scarf: I have to take care of Forretress, but it still has a chance of surviving HP fire. Rotom can come in any of its attacks and burn it.
Substitute: A bit hard to kill. Shaymin has to be at good health to take its HP fire and break its sub. Rotom isn’t an option here since it hardly breaks its subs.

473.png
Mamoswine:
Lead: It´s such an easy lead to beat. SR + Rapid spin (because they will more likely send out a fire-move user, and Gyarados is the only reliable switch), if it stays, I´ll get some spikes.

376.png
Metagross:
Lead: Lay Stealth rock, and spin, if it stays, I get some free spikes.
AgilityGross: Rotom-w counters and Forretress can finish him; another reason of why I´m running Earthquake.

407.png
Roserade
Lead: It´s not that hard; Switch to Rotom-w and to Heatran later.
Spiker: Ok this is just one of the worst pokemon that I can face; Shaymin doesn´t even 3 OHKO, while she can beat me by sludge bomb or it gets spikes for free on it and Rotom-w. Forretress can´t come in it, Gyarados can´t touch her and Heatran is the only one who can touch her, but it´ll flee.

476.png
Rotom – A:
Standard: Shaymin and Heatran are the obvious choices here. I really hate how it spin-blocks my move and it doesn’t stop escaping ._.
Choice: I just have to predict which move will it do; t-bolt and Hydro pump to Shaymin, Shadow ball to Heatran.
I didn’t find the spirite for rotom-a.

212.png
Scizor:
Choice Band: Gyarados is the obvious choice, but I have to kill him soon, so Ttar can have the floor clear. Rotom can also come in everything but Pursuit; in that moment I will WoW. Heatran revenge kills.
Swords Dance: Gyarados owns him and Heatran resists his bullet punch x4

492.png
Shaymin
LO Sweeper: Seems like Heatran is the only revenge killer as the flower pokemon can 2OHKO all my pokemon.
Leech Seed: First I have to figure out if it´s using HP fire or Earth Power; if it has HP fire, Heatran says hi, an if it has Earth Power, Forretress get some layers of spikes.

121.png
Starmie:
Rapid Spinner: I have to switch to Rotom-w because it will get rid of my entry hazards. I sometimes like to stay in Shaymin so I can kill him and there won´t be a spinner in the foe´s team by the cost of some entry hazards blown. Heatran 2OHKO´s him with HP elec.
LO sweeper: It´s hard to say which move it´ll use. Shaymin isn´t OHKO´ed by its ice beam; Heatran can come in its Ice beam and deal 67.2% - 79.4%

245.png
Suicune:
CroCune: Shaymin and Gyarados
Offensive Suicune: this is just tricky; the only way I can beat it is by switching in Shaymin it during his CM, and Seed Flare to 2 OHKO. His Ice beam does around 75%, and my Seed Flare does 50%, that´s why I need the speed evs, so I can 2 OHKO him before he beats me. Rotom-w can take its surf, but I don´t like relaying in the washing machine when facing the water dog.

485.png
Togekiss:
ParaFlinch: Rotom-w Burns and doesn´t care being paralyzed. The ghost resists its Airslash and isn´t hit by Aura Sphere. Tyranitar can set up in its face if it flees or uses T-wave. Gyarados can roar
Nasty Plot Sweeper: Rotom-w is the only answer here, as it can 2 OHKO it.

248.png
Tyranitar:
Choice Band: I´m afraid this Tyrant 2OHKO´s everything in my team, Rotom-w outspeeds and has to burn, or Ttar will KO, and Forretress can come in everything but Stone Edge.
Choice Scarf: Forretress comes and gets a layer of spikes.
DragonDance: Uncommon, but it can sweep my entire team. Heatran 2OHKO´s, Forretress can wear it down by EQ (if it lacks of Fire Punch), and Shaymin can survive a +1 SE.

461.png
Weavile:
Sweeper: (rofl) let´s see… Forretress gets some hazards, Intimidating Gyarados can finish his sweep, and Heatran says hi.

469.png
Yanmega:
Sweeeper: Heatran and Rotom-w wall him (if it lacks of HP ground), and they can OHKO him back with powerful STAB moves.

~Defensive Threats~

242.png
Blissey:
WishBliss: Shaymin comes and Leech Seeds; it also scouts if it has flamethrower. If it does, Forry won´t come; if it doesn´t, Forry will be happy.

437.png
Bronzong:
Support Wall: Forretress can come in everything but Hypnosis and will spin/ entry hazard. Rotom-w can beat him easily, and can also come in its Hypnosis.
Offensive Trick Room: Gyarados and Rotom-w wall it. Gyarados doesn´t like explosions, so I like more walling it with Rotom-w

251.png
Celebi:
Defensive: This is one of the pokemon who I have problems with. Forretress can´t touch it, Shaymin can´t do too much against him, and my only hope is Heatran´s Overheat. I just have to be careful about his T-wave.

488.png
Cresselia:
Wall: I love seeing her; she can´t touch Forretress, and Tyranitar can DD up in her lunar face. Rotom can Burn, and with SS, it will be receiving just 25% of health if it uses Morning Sun.

232.png
Donphan:
OU wall: It´s not hard to kill; Switch to Rotom-w as it Rapid Spins, and I just Wow him, so it won´t wall Ttar in the future. Shaymin OHKO´s him.

205.png
Forretress:
Wall: I hate and love this guy. It gets Spikes and it spins away my entry hazards, but it´s a perfect set up fodder to Ttar. Heatran beats, Rotom-w spin-blocks and burns.

472.png
Gliscor:
Stall – Breaker: Shaymin 2OHKO´s, and Heatran KO´s after SR. I can beat him by spinning his SR w/ Forry and switch to Gyarados, so Intimidate and Forretress´ bulkiness will pp stall his EQ´s pp.

450.png
Hippowdon:
Wall: I like burning it because the burn makes it easier to beat. I also love how Forry can get some hazards (or spin) in his face. Shaymin OHKO´s or uses leech seed against whoever switches.

227.png
Skarmory:
Spiker: Even though Shaymin hardly 3 OHKO´s it, Heatran can threaten him. Rotom-w can beat it with ease and Forry can spin its hazards.

143.png
Snorlax:
Curse: if it lacks of fire punch, Forretress gets some hazards; if it does, Gyarados can roar away. Shaymin can steal his hp.

260.png
Swampert:
Standard Lead: Shaymin and Rotom-w
CursePert: Shaymin beats him. Gyarados can phaze him.

073.png
Tentacruel:
Toxic Spiker: Rotom-w during his spin, and 2 OHKO him with t-bolt.

134.png
Vaporeon:
Wisher: Shaymin and Rotom-w who can beat it 1-1, or I can just predict the switch and use Leech seed or WoW

145.png
Zapdos:
Physcal wall: First I have to figure out what set it is running. If it is the standard wall, I switch to Rotom-w in its t-bolt, then switch to Heatran so Flash Fire makes Overheat hit hard. If it´s the toxic-roost set, Rotom-w stalls him; I just have to predict when will it roost, so I can burn it.
***NOTE***
Other problems that this team have are facing other semistall teams (if I can´t set up Ttar, and if I can´t beat his Spin-blocker), and the now famous Water / Fire / Grass combo, especially if it has Suicune and/or Roserade. I´d also like to get some advice whether running HP fire or Earth Power or not in Shaymin

^ Fear him

Your team seems to be a bit weak to stall teams and certain boosting threats (Boosting infernape can easily 6-0 you and stop TTar's sweep), and stuff like mixnite, and Jirachi if it gets 2 calm minds.

To fix this I would try running a Skarmory lead with taunt, special defense and around 100 spe EVs. You can now shut down 5/6 of stall and spike up for free. You can also counter mixnite (take a draco meteor followed by a 2- fire blast at full health).

You can also try running scarf on Rotom. This allows you to trick set up sweepers and walls, and easily revenge kill threats like bounce + stone edge gyarados, infernape, ect, that sweep you.

Oh and great song too btw.

Seems like a pretty cool team, and it has most threats covered. Although, as previously stated, I don't really like how open to defensive teams that you seem at a first glance. Pokemon such as Skarmory of Foretress come in and easily spike on many of your team members. Not to mention, your Rapid Spinner isn't even carrying Payback to combat common Rapid Spin blockers like the Rotom-A or the occasional Gengar. My first suggestion that you can use to stop this is to try a Mixed Dragonite over your Gyarados. Not only will Mixed Dragonite be able to combat common stall combinations such as Skarm/Bliss, but it will also be able to aid your Tyranitar in taking out many of its counters, like Swampert, in preparation for a late game sweep.

Next, you may notice, that with the loss of Gyarados you are opened up to Pokemon such as Infernape a little bit. This is why I would simply suggest that you convert your Rotom-W to the scarf variant. This allows you to not only check Pokemon such as Infernape and fast special attackers like Starmie and Gengar, but it also provides Tyranitar with free opportunities to set up as Rotom-W is pursuit bait so you can set up on enemy Scizor or Tyranitar that are locked into a resisted pursuit. Also, I would consider changing the EV spread and moveset on your Leech Seed Shaymin. Running Synthesis is ineffective since you have sandstorm on your team and since sandstorm is very common in the OU tier anyways. If I would you I would simply run:

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Timid 252 HP | 68 SpA | 188 Spe Natural Cure
Leech Seed | Protect | Seed Flare | Hidden Power [Fire]

Finally, I would consider switching your lead around. Overall, I really think that a lead Forretress slows down the pace of the game as this is a more offensive oriented team. This is why I would consider shifting your Lead Forretress into a Lead Life Orb Starmie with Rapid Spin. With Life Orb Starmie lead you have an effective way to lead off the game at a fast and offensive pace rather than a slow pace that Forretress would have for you. Not only that but Starmie is really a better rapid spinner than Forretress for this team as it gives you the offensive synergy of being able to check Infernape which can be troublesome for Tyranitar. With this I would simply shift Heatran to a Shuca or Passho Berry variant with Stealth Rocks | Fire Blast | Earth Power | Explosion, as your lose your user of rocks with Forretress being gone.

Alright that is all I have to say, good luck with this team!

Solid Gen 4 Team! We'll see if I cant make some nitpicky changes to make it a little bit better though.

One of the things I considered most was suggesting Scarf Tyranitar, as it covers many of your teams most problematic threats. However, I decided to stay true to the DD Tyranitar theme, so here we go:

Im going to start with Forretress: I think you really need to go with the same EVs but with a Careful nature and switch to Payback, because Gengar is an absolute menace to your team. That boosted Special Defense should help you take on the most used set (SubSplit with SBall and Focus Miss), rather well. At least well enough to spot check it and then you can work from there so it can't come in for free again. You will be able to hit it of course because you have Payback. Also, switch Stealth Rock to Toxic Spikes. That will be one of the most helpful things against stall, a playstyle SemiStall sometimes has trouble with.

The reason I say this is because I think Heatran would be better as a Shuca variant. This gives you an SR layer and allows you to run Toxic Spikes. In addition, you have your last ditch answer to Heatran. I think between Earth Power Shaymin and Shuca Tran, you should have your Heatran troubles eased a bit, because they are backing up your hard counter in Gyarados and another decent option in Tyranitar. Here is the set:

Heatran @ Shuca Berry
Timid / Flash Fire (use Timid even with Explosion)
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Explosion / Dragon Pulse
-Stealth Rock

On this team, I understand you may not want to Explode mons away, but I do think it is probably the wisest choice as a help against stall and whatever dangerous mon you may come across. However, if you're finding you have this thing in against Outrages a lot, I can understand just wanting a move to end it there (although deferring to Forry or Gyarados could also work).

This means you have lost your Scarfer, but we can relegate that duty to Rotom-W. I'd rather see a Rotom-H here personally though, because Heatran is stoned pretty thoroughly and the Scizor coverage is perhaps more important for Tyranitar (plus, as your spin blocker, you gotta be able to own Forretress). This guy is going to be your MVP outside of Tyranitar for sure, because it can stop more huge threats like Gengar, STARMIE, and in addition use a last ditch Trick to disable a Pokemon. Tricking is one of my favorite Gen 4 strategies, even if it wasnt to disable CroCune or CurseLax or whatever (although that is a perfect reason to use it). It can also make unpredictable and versatile pokemon more easy to predict around and contain. If the time is right, you can Trick a CM Jirachi or something like that just so you have an easier time (especially because CM Wish Jirachi will be tough to beat if Heatran falls, because most run Flash Cannon). Anyway enough rambling about how awesome Scarf Rotom is, here is the set:

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Timid / Levitate
248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Speed
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Overheat
-Trick

The EVs might seem strange, but as a revenge killer, you will be surprised that Rotom-H hits what it needs to hard enough already. The bulk really comes into play because you will be using it as your spinblocker, and being able to shrug off a Payback or two will be hugely helpful.

Love the Shaymin, Scizor and Skarm are stopped by your team/spin respectively, so you got Earth Power for Heatran..love the thinking. You might consider HP Ice if you find Dragonite to be especially annoying, as 3 Heatran checks/counters should suffice. I would have Synthesis to Protect as stalling for Leech Seed recovery is very effective and will work great with Toxic Spikes and potential sand damage. I now passing up 50% recovery stinks, but unless you use Rest (a possibility but not recommended), you just won't get the mileage out of it. You say you try not to reveal TTar (smart), but there is no guaranteeing your opponent wont show Hippo/his TTar, and then youre stuck. A better EV spread is 252 HP / 72 SpA / 184 Spe Timid as it gives good bulk and plenty of speed (over 90s like Lucario). However, as you cant really touch it unfortunately (but not really the biggest deal as you have Gyara + Scarf Rotom), you could go with 252 HP / 108 SpA / 148 Spe Timid to beat out Max Speed Rotom forms so you dont waste Seed Flare pp breaking subs or anything dumb. Thats taking into account HP Ice, with Earth Power you'd run 112 SpA / 144 Spe.

Everything else looks pretty solid. I'd consider leading with Heatran because Forretress will be so important for Gengar and stuff midgame so you won't want it fall early. ShucaTran is of course a common and great lead as you know.

This is a great team, I'm not sure how much longer you'll be using it, but good luck!

Seems like everyone has suggested the scarfed Rotom, I´ll try that out.

@ AB2, I´m afraid I cant afford using Mixnite over Gyarados because I´ll be using a Breloom check (I hate losing a team member by Spore). The LO Starmie suggestion is fine, but it can come in many times/ spin away hazards, so I´d rather not using it.

@ Eggbert, without Forretress, entry hazards would kill Gyarados, that´s why I need a spinner.

@ Friar, you seem to understand me; I wanted to keep the semistall core I have here. I really wanted to keep EQ on Forry, but Payback deals with Gengar. Also I didnt thought about using ShucaTran, and it´s been working pretty well. Also, you´re right about the speed on Shaymin, but I´ll lose some offensive power, which will depend on beating CM Suicune or not (Rotom and Toxic Spikes will get rid of it).

Any more suggestions?
