Pixel Art / Sprites
I really enjoy doing pixel work and animations. I don't use any special software anymore, easier to just open the usual drawing app and make the canvas size 100x100 or something and set the pen size to 1. Then I save a bunch of layers as individual images and send them through the gif-inator

The Draw Something 2 collection
DS2 was an amazing social media app for artists, but it got shut down in favor of re-monetizing DS1. This is a collection of my pieces I saved before losing over a year of artwork and friends unannounced.

Pokemon Related
Self explanatory. Scrolling from here down should all be my Pokemon and Smogon related stuff
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX (and promo image) art style attempt. Very happy with this one. This clump are all from a SmogonxTheArtGallery crossover event.
For this Psyduck, I took the photos that compose the background and modeled the clay. Psyduck was my first shiny, so I was very happy to see shiny Psyduck was an option!
1. This one is probably my favorite. Not a lot of energy went into it, and it's not flashy by any means, but it's different
2. I always like ink splatter background, and murkrow fit nicely into the aesthetic, I think. Tried to make it look a little bit like a sticker, but probably could've leaned harder into that
3. I tried making one piece more like an album art, not sure if I like how it turned out
4. Another hastily drawn piece, since I knew the animation was gonna take some time. I thought the eyes on Sunkern staying in place was funny, so I left it
5. Plenty of memes abounded in the first smogfight event, so of course I had to make a fast piece to send last minute summarizing them! This is the perspective of the organizers. Shaky lines on a lot (oh god the mouse) but I don't mind.

I have a ton of the old sets completed from before the prices jumped.
Team Aqua's Kyogre EX went from like $0.80 to $80. Insanity.
Don't even look at the original Umbreon star.

2. I really tried to take a more artistic approach to this one, something you'd find on the bottom of a skateboard or something. This was inspired by an ADVLTL set in Orre colosseum format, and starmie/shiny latios swept really hard one game

1. I was trying for a gen 1 or 1.5 Ken Sugimori watercolor on this first one. Lines are a little thick though

ADVLT Hub drawing (sorry, image links are down on this one for a while)
I was watching the Workshop thread like a hawk when I saw that the AdvancedLowerTier Hub was pending art. I love ADV LTs and wanted to go all out to contribute to a more permanent installation of the site.
I tried to make a list of pokemon to include that would have representation for every tier without including a single OU-ranked pokemon (Arcanine doing a lot of heavy lifting here lol)-

Raikou, as it fits into a lot of the formats, but I'd be willing to guess that if an Arena Trap ban happens in OU then Raikou will rise, so I'm hesitant on formally including it on the idea that it might age into OU.
Unsure of how viable Zangoose is (not good in UUBL), but Frank Marley likes it in 200 and I like it in general so why not
The rough-in:
I wasn't sure what art style to settle on, but I experimented with a few brushes just to see what they do and I loved how one worked on the sky. Tried to do final shading based on that alone
Glalie as the moon almost gives Ocarina of Time, which was unintended but happy coincidence
Flatting in the other Pokemon. I included the sign as an inside joke, faded part in reference to the discussion for UUBL to become UU, yamna stealing ZU because of when it dropped to ZU and everybody hated it (except me heehee) and I'm gonna make the doubles sign singed to represent the ban on explosion
The middle of the sky seems very bare, so I'm thinking I'll move the text up there instead of at the bottom, making the image more rectangular which is better for the forum anyways. I'm also going to include inscribed in the ruins the more obscure formats like JAA and Orre
Shading halfway through.
Not sure if I'm happy with how any Pokemon other than onix and gloom turned out in the end. Maybe I should've left all of them a little flatter. Would've saved a lot of time.
The Gen 3 OM Hub Header
Because the LT Hub image was based on the hub in Dark Souls, I thought another game with an iconic hub would be neat. After going through some ideas, I remembered Rogueport in Paper Mario TTYD (which came out during the life span of gen 3). Great game btw.
Joaf also suggested the idea of multiple deoxys forms, so the idea based on this cover fit together pretty well into the theme of multiple distinct forms of ADV.
Inclusion choices:
- I combined elements of Brendan's various designs over the years to tie into the theme of "modern/altered gen 3."
- The landscape is a collection of famous Hoenn areas, and the entrance to Rogueport under the space center because I think it's passable as looking at Mossdeep from the east but a clear nod to PMTTYD. Joaf also recommended "making the sky look other-wordly," which was a great idea for the theme, but unfortunately I put it in last, so in order to not distract it had to be kind of muted. You may have to turn up brightness to see the clouds or layered atmosphere
- I included Groudon Kyogre and Rayquaza because of course. But also because several of the other metagames are Ubers based.
- Deoxys-Normal is holding a life orb to represent New Gen Items. Other ideas were to make Deoxys-Speed's hook arm be a focus sash, or Castform wearing something that can be a necklace (see below), or putting an item like a choice band on Brendan.
- Lunatone is iced over as a nod to Hoenn Echoes, where Lunatone has Ice Body as an ability (and is ice type I think?).
- Pelipper is sitting under a rain cloud because so many of the OMs (like modern gen 3 and tradebacks) give Pelipper Drizzle.
- Plusle has a fiery aura because in Hoenn Gaiden it is fire-type oriented.
- Castform is centralizing in Bad N Boosted with its stat line of 140/140/140/140/140/140.
Similarities are there.
WIPS- the pitch
outlining (I like how brendan looks here more than when rendered)
flats. The text is a font file but the colors, outlines and shadows on it were hand done
