Exeggutor (Analysis)

You're forgetting what makes TTar hit hard-- an awesome special movepool and really awesome base power on its attacks. Base power of moves is very important-- Tyranitar's Ice Beam (95 stat, 95 base power) is slightly more powerful than Chandelure's Hidden Power Ice (145 stat, 70 base power)!

That said, 95 attack using a 70 power base move (natural gift) is pretty pathetic, especially with split EVs.

I think what's being underestimated is Exeggcutor's bulk. 95 / 85 / 65 is pretty comparable to something like Machamp, which was an awesome anti-lead in 4th gen because little could OHKO it. Yeah eggy has lots of weaknesses, but it has lots of useful resistances too, and when you have a 125 sp.A stat even acceptable defensive stats can let you wreak havoc.

In any case, sorry I came up with some stuf:

-Lum/Rest should get mentioned somewhere
-The T/R set should probably not use Harvest if it's using Life Orb (maybe lum instead...)
-Perhaps write a DW section about "harvest will be sweet when more berries are released" like pinch berries.

Maybe I'm splitting hairs since I have not done any calcs, but some berries provide a 80 BP hit; don't forget that because of Harvest you don't necessarily have to OHKO for the tactic to work; If you can hit them on the switch-in you get another shot, either with NG or another move if Harvest fails to recover your berry--I will admit that is the flaw in the strategy, which is why this is preferable in sunny weather.

Besides, the lack of power is to be expected, and should be mitigated accordingly--the point of a lure is to bring in something that normally isn't threatened and destroy it unexpectedly; meaning that if I'm using a NG/HP lure Exeggutor, for example, I would not delegate Natural Gift to taking down something like Skarmory, but rather Blissey, for example, while I use my HP slot to take down Skarm. That may be a poor example as both are OU, but you get my drift.

Exeggutor's Attack stat may be adept enough to pull it off. I'll do some calcs later and edit them in. Natural Gift shouldn't be disregarded completely though; that's my point.

I was unsure on the SubSeed set, but after having pwned PKGaming with it, I'm fully convinced of its legitimacy. An intersting thing to note about that set though, is that it loses to any faster Water-type with Substitute (if you're running HP Fire). Fuck Sub Bulk Up Poliwrath >.>

EDIT: And instead of slashing Sleep Powder or Toxic next to HP Fire, slash Psychic and mention the other two in AC

Anyway

this is old, but in relation to Oglemi's notes:

if you're using leftovers on the subseed set, then it is 100% inferior to Celebi using that spread. Celebi can get all-around better defences with 56 HP / 252 def / 200 SpA, a spread that grants both higher speed and higher special defensive bulk (as well as ignorably higher physical bulk). Plus, Natural Cure is better than Chlorophyll. I'd suggest deslashing leftovers.

EDIT: if you're deslashing leftovers, make sure to deslash chlorophyll as well

[Overview]

Although Exeggutor took a serious blow from the effective loss of Explosion, it can still pose a serious threat thanks to its high Special Attack stat and access to the rare Sleep Powder. Exeggutor can work around its low speed whether by either doubling it through its Chlorophyll ability, or by turning the opponent's own speed against it with Trick Room. Exeggutor also has a niche as one of the few viable Harvest Pokemon, allowing it to stall out whole entire teams with the right support. Although, (Comma) the severe weakness to Bug-type moves, and consequentially the ubiquitous U-turn, makes Exeggutor difficult to fit into just any team. However, it can pay off well for those teams that do find room for it.

move 3: Hidden Power Fire / Psyshock
move 4: Sleep Powder
item: Life Orb / Heat Rock
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest / Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
IVs: 29 HP

[SET COMMENTS]

Chlorophyll allows Exeggutor to patch up its low speed, beating out Base 130 Speed Pokemon after a Sunny Day.SolarBeam is Exeggutor's best strongest STAB move in the while under sun, although Grass Knot is a perfectly acceptable alternative if Abomasnow and Hippopotas are a concern. Hidden Power Fire effectively becomes a STAB move in the under sun, and nails Grass-types hard,; especially Abomasnow, one of the biggest threats to this set, is easily dispatched. Psyshock also works, since as many Grass-type Pokemon carry a secondary Poison typing, and alsogives Exeggutor a better chance at beating Chansey. However, this leaves Exeggutor walled by Steel-types, who would normally fall to a super effective Hidden Power Fire. Sleep Powder gives Exeggutor a chance to set up Sunny Day against slower Pokemon,; and can also be used on the last turn of it, in order to by using Sleep Powder on the last turn of Sunny Day you can give Exeggutor a chance to set it up again and continue sweeping.

The choice of item is an important one. Life Orb boosts power significantly, and is best when Exeggutor acts as a stand-*alone sweeper. However, if Exeggutor's teammates also benefit from Sunny Day, then Heat Rock is an alternative, so that even if Exeggutor fails, its teammates can still pick up where it left off.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature is preferred, since as Exeggutor does not outspeed any notable Choice Scarf Pokemon with a Timid nature. However, if neutral natured Base 100 Speed Pokemon are a concern, Exeggutor can get the jump on those with a Timid nature, something a Modest nature fails to do. use a Timid nature to get the jump on them. The EVs are simple, and are meant to maximize Exeggutor's offensive capability capabilities. If Life Orb is being used, a 29 HP IV reduces the recoil from it by 1 point, giving Exeggutor slightly better longevity after two attacks. Leaf Storm is an option over SolarBeam, but this reduces Exeggutor to more of but is better suited to a hit-and-run type of sweeper, which Lilligant does better thanks to its high speed. Another option is Explosion, which, while weak, can get a stronger Chlorophyll sweeper out onto the field with no risk.

Some of the best partners for this Exeggutor are Pokemon that benefit from Sunny Day the most. Other Chlorophyll Pokemon, such as Victreebel or Lilligant, are an obvious choice, such as Victreebel or Lilligant. Fire-type Pokemon also make for good partners, since they greatly appreciate the extra STAB boost in power Sunny Day provides to their STAB moves. Choice Scarf Pokemon in particular work very well. Examples include Victini and Typhlosion, both of whom can throw out extremely powerful V-creates and Eruptions, respectively. Fire-type Pokemon also resist U-turn, something Exeggutor greatly appreciates. Just like any other sweeper, this set benefits from entry hazards. Rhyperior can set up Stealth Rock, and loves having its Water-type weakness reduced.

[SET]
name: Subseeder
move 1: Leech Seed
move 2: Protect
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Hidden Power Fire / Psychic
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Harvest
nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set makes use of Exeggutor's physical bulk in order to stall out opponents. Harvest can recycle Sitrus Berries, giving Exeggutor the chance to stall out a large number of enemies. Leech Seed is the main form of damage on this set, and supplements Exeggutor's recovery. Substitute blocks status, and the health lost from generating it is usually replaced. Protect helps to stall out opponents, and provides more free recovery from Leech Seed. Hidden Power Fire nails most Grass-types, who are immune to Leech Seed, for respectable damage. Psychic is an option for dealing with faster Pokemon with Substitute, such as Bulk Up Poliwrath.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs and a Bold nature maxize maximize Exeggutor's physical bulk, allowing it to set up Substitutes more easily. If Hidden Power Fire is not being run used, perfect Speed and Special Attack IVs should be used. Wish can be used to heal reliably, and makes Exeggutor more difficult to take down. However, this comes at the cost of a way to deal with Grass-types. Ingrain ignores attempts to phase Exeggutor out, and also supplements Exeggutor's recovery, but it similarly forces the sacrifice of Exeggutor's coverage move. Sleep Powder allows Exeggutor to incapacitate an opponent, and then set up Leech Seed or Substitute for free. Toxic can also be used to stack up residual damage.

Toxic Spikes support is heavily recommended, since it makes Exeggutor less reliant on Leech Seed, and conserves Substitute and Protect's PP. Nidoqueen resists U-turn, and benefits from having a teammate to take Water-type attacks aimed at her. Paralysis support also helps Exeggutor get the initial set up it needs. Pokemon that can deal with Grass-types in general are appreciated, such as Fire-types, like Arcanine. Paralysis support is also recommended, since it allows Exeggutor to move first against paralyzed opponents, and if the opponent becomes fully paralyzed Exeggutor gains a free turn of recovery, and a free turn of damage against the opponent. Sunny Day support is also helpful, since it guarantees that Harvest will recycle Sitrus Berry, and also boosts the strength of Hidden Power Fire.

move 2: Sleep Powder
move 3: Leaf Storm / Grass Knot
move 4: Psyshock / Hidden Power Fire
item: Life Orb
ability: Harvest
nature: Quiet
EVs: 232 HP / 24 Def / 252 SpA
IVs: 0 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With access to Sleep Powder, Exeggutor is one of the best users of Trick Room available in UU. With it, Exeggutor can be brought in when a Trick Room set by a teammate is about to expire, use Sleep Powder on the last turn, and then reactivate Trick Room in complete safety. Leaf Storm is Exeggutor's strongest move, and goes well with this set, given its hit-and-run nature. Grass Knot can be used more often, but does not get kills as consistently. Psyshock helps to beat Chansey through clever use of Sleep Powder; if Chansey switches in on Psyshock, and is then put to sleep before she can heal off the damage, she will be forced out, and therefore unable to switch back in without risking being 2HKOed. Hidden Power Fire hits most Steel-types for reasonable damage, but the main target, Escavelier, underspeeds Exeggutor, so Exeggutor loses to it while Trick Room is up anyway.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Life Orb boosts Exeggutor's power significantly, allowing it to pose more of a threat while Trick Room is up. A Quiet nature and maximized Special Attack aid Exeggutor in this respect. Since Exeggutor wants to outspeed as many things as possible while Trick Room is up, a 0 Speed IV is used. Note that if Exeggutor is using Hidden Power Fire, then a 2 Speed IV must be used instead. 232 HP gives a Life Orb number, and the rest of the EVs are placed in Defense. Although the ability to recycle Berries is not being used on this set, Harvest is preferred over Chlorophyll so that in the event that the sun is shining Exeggutor will not outspeed the opponent and move second under Trick Room. Explosion, while weak, can be used to get Exeggutor off the field immediately, allowing a more powerful slow sweeper to get into play unscathed.

Teammates that benefit from Trick Room are essential. Victini can also set up Trick Room, and hits very hard for with V-create, which effectively makes it faster while Trick Room is up. It can also use Final Gambit to remove a problematic opponent. Cofagrigus and Dusclops are both reliable users of Trick Room, and they resist Bug-type moves, a common weakness for most users of Trick Room. Slow, hard-hitting Pokemon, such as Aggron or Escavelier Escavalier, take advantage of a teammate's Trick Room well.

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With a pair of Choice Specs equipped, Exeggutor can forego attempts to patch up its mediocre Speed, and simply hit hard right off the bat. Leaf Storm is Exeggutor's strongest move, putting a heavy dent in anything that doesn't resist it, or is named Chansey. Psyshock helps to deal with the latter, although entry hazard support is needed in order to have any shot at beating Chansey one-on-one, barring a critical hit. Sleep Powder cripples almost anything that might be able to take one of Exeggutor's attacks, although using it forces Exeggutor immediately out afterwards, unless the opponent has Natural Cure for its ability, giving Exeggutor a chance to put something else to sleep,* if played correctly. Hidden Power Fire deals with Steel-types, who resist both of Exeggutor's STAB moves. Shadow Ball is an alternative for dealing with Xatu, who also resists both STAB moves, and can even turn Sleep Powder back on Exeggutor, thanks to Magic Bounce.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature is used for the power it provides. A Timid nature is also an option, although because Exeggutor is so slow, it is usually better off with the power a Modest nature provides. The EVs are straightforward, maximizing Exeggutor's offense and allowing it to outpace most walls. Hidden Power Ice can be used to nail Altaria, but since Leaf Storm still OHKOs OHKOes Flygon on the switch-in, there isn't much point in using it.

Entry hazard support is vital to this set's success, since hazards and double switching are Exeggutor's best bet for wearing down Chansey. A strong Pursuit user also works, as does a Pokemon with Trick. Trick works especially well in that it allows Exeggutor to 2HKO Chansey with Psyshock, and the stolen Eviolite can later be Tricked onto another opponent, crippling it as well. Porygon-Z can ruin Chansey with Trick, and together with Exeggutor can bludgeon its way through most specially bulky walls. Pokemon that appreciate having Steel-types weakened love this set. Choice Scarf Staraptor can spam Reckless Brave Bird once Steel-types are removed, and can also sponge U-turns for Exeggutor.

[Other Options]

Rest can be used with a Lum Berry and Harvest to constantly keep itself healthy, but there are many threats that can OHKO Exeggutor, so this strategy is difficult to pull off. Giga Drain is an option on any offensive set, since it can heal off damage. Energy Ball is slightly more powerful than Giga Drain, but the recovery Giga Drain provides almost always outweighs the benefit of a little extra damage. If Chansey is not a concern, then Psychic is a better move than Psyshock in most situations. Gravity gives perfect accuracy to Exeggutor's moves, most notably Sleep Powder and Leaf Storm. Stun Spore can be used to paralyze opponents. Exeggutor has access to dual screens, but is generally outclassed in this role by many other Pokemon. Wish can be used to pass off fairly sizable sizeable amounts of recovery to teammates, but Exeggutor has a hard time using it for itself. Synthesis provides healing, although it is useless when a weather other than sun is up. Worry Seed supresses an opponent's ability, but as a result the opponent becomes immune to Sleep Powder, one of Exeggutor's best moves. A Swords Dance or Curse set with Wood Hammer and Zen Headbutt can be used, but it isn't very effective due to Exeggutor's poor defensive typing and low Special Defense.

[Checks and Counters]

Thanks to Sleep Powder, Exeggutor is difficult to counter before Sleep Clause has been activated. However, any Pokeom Pokemon with a Bug-type move, especially U-turn, poses an immediate threat to Exeggutor. Scyther is one of the most dangerous examples, since it can pound Exeggutor's team with powerful U-turns if Exeggutor doesn't sacrifice itself to take the hit. Escavelier Escavalier is Exeggutor's worst nightmare if it lacks Hidden Power Fire and has already used Sleep Powder, since it threatens to OHKO at an overkill level with Megahorn, or can trap and kill a fleeing Exeggutor with Pursuit. Chansey is usually a hard stop. Choice Scarf Fire-type Pokemon with a Base Speed of 90 or higher pose a serious threat to Sunny Day Exeggutor, since they can throw out boosted Fire-type attacks while outspeeding it. Choice Scarf Abomasnow can remove Exeggutor's sunlight and OHKO it with Blizzard, but it must be wary of Hidden Power Fire or Sleep Powder. Weavile can put Exeggutor in a bad situation, since predicting incorrectly about whether Weavile will use Ice Shard or Pursuit can be disastrous. Magic Bounce Xatu completely counters Subseed SubSeed Exeggutor, and handles most other variants nicely.

[Dream World]

Exeggutor can use Harvest to recycle pinch berries, but Celebi is generally is a better Special Attack boosting sweeper.

It's getting kinda late, and I'm tired. I'll finish this tomorrow when I'm awake.

Stand by.

EDIT: Finished! Sorry it took so long.

I appreciate the check, and it did let me find some small mistakes, but again, you're making too many unnecessary changes (you made far fewer this time though, which is good. You're certainly improving in this regard.). A bit of advice is to only remove wording or change it when it makes the sentence a) awkwardly worded, b) grammatically incorrect, c) too informal for an analysis, or d) incorrect in terms of factual content.

Thanks for the effort.

Exeggutor can use Harvest to recycle pinch berries, but Celebi is generally a better Special Attack boosting sweeper.

I removed the dream world section since the ability is out already. Very good analysis with few errors. Just make sure to look out for run-on sentences as they can make things drag a bit. Otherwise...

[Overview]

Although Exeggutor took a serious blow from the effective loss of Explosion, it can still pose a serious threat thanks to its high Special Attack and Sleep Powder. Exeggutor can work around its low Speed, whether by doubling it through its Chlorophyll ability, or by turning the opponent's own Speed against it with Trick Room. Exeggutor also has a niche as one of the few viable Harvest Pokemon with Harvest, which allows it to stall out entire teams with the right support. Although the severe weakness to Bug-type moves, and consequentially the ubiquitous U-turn, makes Exeggutor difficult to fit into just any team, it can pay off well for those teams that find room for it.

[SET]
name: Sunny Day
move 1: Sunny Day
move 2: SolarBeam / Grass Knot
move 3: Hidden Power Fire / Psyshock
move 4: Sleep Powder
item: Life Orb / Heat Rock
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
ivs: 29 HP

[SET COMMENTS]

Chlorophyll allows Exeggutor to patch up its low Speed, beating out base 130 Speed Pokemon after a Sunny Day. SolarBeam is Exeggutor's best STAB move in the sun, although Grass Knot is a perfectly acceptable alternative if Abomasnow and Hippopotas are a concern. Hidden Power Fire effectively becomes a STAB move in the sun,(remove) and nails Grass-types hard, especially Abomasnow, which is one of the biggest threats to this set. Psyshock also works, since many Grass-type Pokemon carry a secondary Poison typing, and it also gives Exeggutor a better chance at beating Chansey. However, this leaves Exeggutor walled by Steel-types, which would normally fall to a super effective Hidden Power Fire. Sleep Powder gives Exeggutor a chance to set up Sunny Day against slower Pokemon, and can also be used on the last turn of sun,(remove) in order to give Exeggutor a chance to set it up again and continue sweeping.

The choice of item is an important one. Life Orb boosts power significantly, and is best when Exeggutor acts as a stand-alone sweeper. However, if Exeggutor's teammates also benefit from Sunny Day, then Heat Rock is an alternative,(remove) to ensure that even if Exeggutor fails, its teammates can still pick up where it left off.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature is preferred, since Exeggutor does not outspeed any notable Choice Scarf Pokemon with a Timid nature. However, if neutral base 100 Speed Pokemon are a concern, Exeggutor can get the jump on them with a Timid nature, something a Modest nature fails to do. The EVs are simple, and are meant to maximize Exeggutor's offensive capability. If Life Orb is being used, a 29 HP IV reduces the recoil from it by 1 point, giving Exeggutor slightly better longevity after two attacks. Leaf Storm is an option over SolarBeam, but this reduces Exeggutor to more of a hit-and-run type of sweeper, which Lilligant does better thanks to its high speed. Another option is Explosion, which, while weak, can get a stronger Chlorophyll sweeper out onto the field with no risk.

Pokemon that benefit from Sunny Day make the best teammates for Exeggutor. Other Chlorophyll Pokemon, such as Victreebel and Lilligant, are an obvious choices. such as Victreebel or Lilligant. Fire-type Pokemon also make for good partners, since they greatly appreciate the extra boost in power that Sunny Day provides to their STAB moves. Choice Scarf Pokemon, in particular, work very well. Examples include Victini and Typhlosion, both of which can throw out extremely powerful V-creates and Eruptions, respectively. Fire-type Pokemon also resist U-turn, a move that Exeggutor greatly fears. Just like any other sweeper, this set benefits from entry hazards. (Provide examples or remove this. Entry hazards benefit literally every Pokemon in the game, so unless you have specific examples of 2HKOs turning into OHKOs, there's no reason to mention it.) Rhyperior can set up Stealth Rock,(remove) and loves having its Water-type weakness reduced by Sunny Day.

[SET]
name: SubSeed
move 1: Leech Seed
move 2: Protect
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Hidden Power Fire / Psychic
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Harvest
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
ivs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set makes use of Exeggutor's physical bulk in order to stall out opponents. Harvest can recycle Sitrus Berries, giving Exeggutor the chance to stall out a large number of enemies. Leech Seed is the main form of damage on this set, and supplements Exeggutor's recovery. Substitute blocks status, and the health lost from generating it is usually recovered. Protect helps to stall out opponents, and provides more free recovery from Leech Seed. Hidden Power Fire nails most Grass-types, which are immune to Leech Seed, for respectable damage. Psychic is an option for dealing with faster Pokemon with Substitute, such as Bulk Up Poliwrath.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs and a Bold nature maximize Exeggutor's physical bulk, allowing it to set up Substitutes more easily. If Hidden Power Fire is not being used, switch to perfect Speed and Special Attack IVs should be used. Exeggutor can use Wish can be used to heal reliably, becoming even more difficult to take down. However, this comes at the cost of a way to deal with Grass-types. Ingrain foils attempts to phase Exeggutor out,(remove) and also supplements Exeggutor's recovery, but it similarly forces the sacrifice of Exeggutor's coverage move. Sleep Powder allows Exeggutor to incapacitate an opponent,(remove) and then set up Leech Seed or Substitute for free. Toxic is also an option to stack up residual damage.
(lots of passive voice (should be used, can be used) in this paragraph. try to avoid it.)

Toxic Spikes support is heavily recommended, since it makes Exeggutor less reliant on Leech Seed,(remove) and conserves the PP of Substitute and Protect's PP. Nidoqueen resists U-turn,(remove) and benefits from having a teammate to take Water-type attacks aimed at her. Paralysis support also helps Exeggutor get the initial set-up it needs. (you repeat this point a few sentences later) Pokemon that can deal with Grass-types in general are appreciated; Fire-types such as Arcanine work well. Paralysis support is also beneficial,(remove) since it allows Exeggutor to move first against paralyzed opponents, and if the opponent becomes fully paralyzed, Exeggutor gains a free turn of recovery,(remove) and a free turn of damage against the opponent. Sunny Day support is also helpful, as it guarantees that Harvest will recycle Sitrus Berry,(remove) and also boosts the strength of Hidden Power Fire.

[SET]
name: Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Sleep Powder
move 3: Leaf Storm / Grass Knot
move 4: Psyshock / Hidden Power Fire
item: Life Orb
ability: Harvest
nature: Quiet
evs: 232 HP / 24 Def / 252 SpA
ivs: 0 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With access to Sleep Powder, Exeggutor is one of the best users of Trick Room available in UU. With it, Exeggutor can come in when a Trick Room set by a teammate is about to expire, use Sleep Powder on the last turn, and then reactivate Trick Room in complete safety. Leaf Storm is Exeggutor's strongest move,(remove) and goes well with this set, given its hit-and-run nature. Grass Knot does not reduce Exeggutor's Special Attack, but it also does not get KOs as consistently as Leaf Storm. Psyshock helps Exeggutor beat Chansey with clever use of Sleep Powder;(semicolon) if Chansey switches in on Psyshock,(remove) and is then put to sleep before she can heal off the damage,(comma) she will be forced out, and therefore unable to switch back in without risking being 2HKOed. Hidden Power Fire hits most Steel-types for reasonable damage, but the main target, Escavalier(spelling), underspeeds Exeggutor, so Exeggutor loses to it while Trick Room is up anyway.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Life Orb boosts Exeggutor's power significantly, allowing it to pose more of a threat while Trick Room is up. A Quiet nature and maximized Special Attack aid Exeggutor in this respect. Since Exeggutor wants to outspeed as many things as possible while Trick Room is up, a 0 Speed IV is ideal. Note that if Exeggutor is using Hidden Power Fire, then a 2 Speed IV must be used instead. 232 HP gives a Life Orb number, and the rest of the EVs are placed in Defense. Although Exeggutor is not abusing the ability to recycle Berries is not being abused on this set, Harvest is preferred over Chlorophyll so that in the event that the sun is shining, Exeggutor will not outspeed the opponent and move second under Trick Room. Explosion, while weak, is an option to get Exeggutor off the field immediately, allowing a more powerful Trick Room sweeper to get into play unscathed.

Teammates that benefit from Trick Room are essential. Victini can also set up Trick Room,(remove) and hits very hard with V-create, which effectively makes it faster while Trick Room is up. It can also use Final Gambit to remove a problematic opponent. Cofagrigus and Dusclops are both reliable users of Trick Room, and they resist Bug-type moves, a common weakness for most users of Trick Room. Slow, hard-hitting Pokemon, such as Aggron or Escavalier, take advantage of a teammate's Trick Room well.
(mention priority users such as Azumarill as well?)

[SET]
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Leaf Storm
move 2: Psyshock
move 3: Hidden Power Fire / Shadow Ball
move 4: Sleep Powder
item: Choice Specs
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
ivs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With a pair of Choice Specs equipped, Exeggutor can forgo attempts to patch up its mediocre Speed,(remove) and instead simply hit hard right off the bat. Leaf Storm is Exeggutor's strongest move, putting a heavy dent in anything that doesn't resist it,(remove) and is not named Chansey. Psyshock helps to deal with the latter, although entry hazard support is needed in order to have any shot at beating Chansey one-on-one, barring a critical hit. Sleep Powder cripples almost anything that might be able to take one of Exeggutor's attacks, although using it forces Exeggutor out immediately afterward, unless the opponent has Natural Cure for its ability, giving Exeggutor a chance to put something else to sleep if played correctly. Hidden Power Fire deals with Steel-types, which resist both of Exeggutor's STAB moves. Shadow Ball is an alternative for dealing with Xatu, which also resists both STAB moves,(remove) and can even turn Sleep Powder back on Exeggutor,(remove) with Magic Bounce.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature is preferred for the power it provides, but Timid is also an option to outspeed the few other Pokemon near Exeggutor's Speed tier, such as Gorebyss and 0 Spe Roserade. A Timid nature is also an option, although because Exeggutor is so slow, it is usually better off with the power a Modest nature provides. The EVs are straightforward, maximizing Exeggutor's offense and allowing it to outpace most walls. Hidden Power Ice can be used to nail Altaria, but since Leaf Storm still OHKOes Flygon on the switch-in, there isn't much point in using it.

Porygon-Z can ruin Chansey with Trick, and together with Exeggutor it can bludgeon its way through most specially bulky walls. Pokemon that appreciate having Steel-types weakened love this set. Choice Scarf Staraptor can spam Reckless Brave Bird once Steel-types are removed, and can also sponge U-turns for Exeggutor. (need a new example since Staraptor is banned)

[Other Options]

Exeggutor can use Rest can be used with a Lum Berry and Harvest to constantly keep itself healthy, but there are many threats that can OHKO Exeggutor, so this strategy is difficult to pull off. Wish can be used to pass off fairly sizable amounts of recovery to teammates, but Exeggutor has a hard time using it for itself. Synthesis provides healing, although it is useless when a weather other than sun is up. Worry Seed suppresses an opponent's ability, but as a result, the opponent becomes immune to Sleep Powder, one of Exeggutor's best moves.

However, any Pokemon with a Bug-type move, especially U-turn, poses an immediate threat to Exeggutor. Scyther is one of the most dangerous examples, since it can pound Exeggutor's team with powerful U-turns if Exeggutor doesn't sacrifice itself to take the hit. Escavalier is Exeggutor's worst nightmare if Exeggutor lacks Hidden Power Fire and has already used Sleep Powder, as its Megahorn is powerful enough to OHKO Exeggutor several times over, and it can also trap and KO a fleeing Exeggutor with Pursuit. Magic Bounce Xatu completely counters SubSeed Exeggutor,(remove) and handles most other variants nicely.

GP 2/2

Good job. Just watch out for adding unnecessary commas, and try to avoid using passive voice too often.

At the first set's first AC paragraph:

A Modest nature is preferred, since Exeggutor does not outspeed any notable Choice Scarf Pokemon with a Timid nature. However, if neutral base 100 Speed Pokemon are a concern, Exeggutor can get the jump on them with a Timid nature.
