Pet Mod EXTREME ROULETTEMONS (Complete for now!)

Alright, so no Pokemon gets in here.

I’m going to take a bit of time to pause between now and next slate because I’ve come up with an idea recently. Back when this mod started, I had a feeling activity would shoot down after the template was made and we had our abilities and moves. I was right; although the mod now does have some activity, it’s a far cry from where we started. I knew I had to come up with a way of streamlining the Pokemon adding process, and I should have waited rather than going through with something I ultimately wasn’t prepared for.

I’d like pause though because I’ve come up with a way around that and want to hear others opinions. I don’t like changing things after I’ve started, but interest may die if I don’t change this. What if I designate slates to certain individuals and have them take turns choosing one of five Pokemon to get accepted? I’ll send five Pokemon to one person, they choose one, and then they submit that to the mod, rinse and repeat until each person has submitted one. That way, rather than putting a ton of effort into making a thoughts post about something that will be done by the week, everyone can put a bunch of effort into their one slate. I’ll reroll if someone decides against any of the Pokemon, and I’ll have a few hours before I allow someone to make their choice to encourage them to think things through.

I’m starting up a poll for this. Do we continue with what we’re doing or is there interest in this new method? Vote on the poll embedded in this thread, and feel free to discuss here if you have any questions or thoughts.

24 hours remain for the poll!

...is what I would say if anyone had any reason for me to not change to the new method, or if there wasn't literally universal support for this. It's worth explaining how this is going to work. I'm not going to use the list of people that signed up on the second post of this thread because a lot of those people aren't or weren't active, but in order to be a part of this, I'm going to confirm that you're still interested and ask that you DM or ping me on either the Pet Mods Discord, the Roulettemons Hub Discord, or somewhere on Smogon. Not directly in this thread though please.

I'll send the first user to react 5 Pokemon, and they will get to choose one. I'm going to ask you all to take your time with this, since this is not a simple mod where you can just look at a Pokemon's stats and understand what it'll do - you'll probably have to look at abilities and moves as well. Once they finish, I'll ask them to post their submitted Pokemon to the thread with a name for it that they come up with themself. After they've posted that, it'll be added to the spreadsheet, and I'll move onto the next person. If they decide that none of the Pokemon are good for this mod, I'll give them a chance to "reroll" 5 new Pokemon, but they can't choose any Pokemon from any earlier sets of 5 they get, and they can't reroll more than 3 times to stop anyone from being too excessive.

To sign up for this, please DM or ping me on Discord or Smogon. There will be a 24 hour downtime between this post and me sending out the first slate, and you can join any time between this post and the time the last person gets their Pokemon.

Alright, I'm going to send the first person their choices now! You'll get a DM when it's your turn, and you're still free to join in right now if you want to. Every post following this will have the Pokemon that the person chose in a template I'll send you, so if you see people posting random Pokemon, there's a reason for it.

Dance of Life, Nutrition Recovery, Primal Instinct, Scorpion Charm, Sticky Wrap, Diamond Rotation

Description: Piscine / Ghoul / Artificial already hits over half of the type chart super-effectively (7/11). This means that thanks to Computer Crash and STABs, it has a very decent offensive presence backed up by a pretty good Sp Atk stat, and with Shield Slider, it can outspeed Arengene, Chloroforge and Rubyroot. That's not all though, it has frankly decent bulk, and while it is weaker on the special side, Scorpion charm mitigates that by setting a hazard that lowers opponent's special Attack. This hazard-setting role is further backed up by Diamond Rotation forcing the opponent to switch and Primal Instinct allowing you to pivot into another mon. Nutrition Recovery may help keep it healthy, although I don't think it's going to be very prominent. Sadly though the abilities are mostly not very useful.

Magic Crystals, Nullifying Seed, Syrinx Warm-Up, Nutrition Recovery

Description: Mirrachnid is one of the stranger Physical Attackers I've seen. It is the fastest pokemon in the mod, which is already quite something. However, its Atk appears on the surface to be quite mediocre. That's where Mortal Strike comes in. Mirrachnid uses Claw Maul to inflict Bleed, and from then on, it's quite easy to simply spam its powerful Beast STAB in Quaking Roar until the opposition crumbles. It also happens to have Syrinx Warm-Up, allowing it to punch massive holes through even the bulkiest of foes. In addition to all of this, Syrinx Warm-Up also increases its already-sizeable SpD, allowing it to facetank many a special attack.

1627071025810.png
Spiky Nest, Sinister Proposal, Rattle Shed, Aromatic Terrain
Roles: Revenge Killer, Physical Attacker, Cleric, Utility, Suicide Lead, Hazard Setter (Spiky Nest)
Description: For a 34 SpA Pokemon with half of its movepool composed of Special moves, Circylla is pretty damn versatile.
Circylla is the 2nd fastest Pokemon in the meta so far. With Modernize doubling its Speed on the turn it uses Arthropod (Artificial) moves, it's basically impossible to outspeed, even with Change of Pace+Shield Slider. It's supposed to serve as the primary Speed control mon in the meta, being more reliable than and outspeeding Shield Slider users (although it doesn't have priority). However, its non-STAB Arthropod (Artificial) moves aren't that strong, they're meant to revenge kill, not sweep. Another defining trait of Circylla is the move Rattle Shed, meaning it can stop a set-up sweeper in its tracks as it will often outspeed them. Its utility doesn't end there. With Spiky Nest and huge Speed, it's guaranteed to get at least 1 Spiky Nest into the field. Spiky Nest applies Bleed, which is important for the Salt Shaker item in Offense, as well as being a good source of damage for Stall comps. 160/75/65 bulk is above average, and Acidic Body allows it to punish foes by spreading Acid. For those reasons + Rattle Shed, I believe Circylla will also see use in more defensive teams. However, it lacks reliable recovery, so it has to rely on teammates' Spectral Scream, Dying Dance, Healing Wings or Estuarine Swap (the latter is not that good because of 160 base HP).
Enough about the utility/defensive stuff, as Circylla's main appeal is its role in Offense. Because of its Hazard Setting, it works kind of similar to Spikes/TSpikes Greninja in OU. With Dependable Eyes, Circylla has perfect accuracy Falcon Punch, a 85 BP STAB move with guaranteed critical hits (making it 127 BP). Critical hits ignore stat changes, so pesky Magnifying Mirror users and their -1 Attacks aren't as effective against it. Circylla also has Hyper Torpedo, a 80 BP STAB move that becomes 160 BP if the user outspeeds the foe, but if that happens, the user takes 50% damage. Without any reliable recovery, it will be hard to make use of that to sweep, but it is a solid move for a Suicide Lead. You can also use Hyper Torpedo once, then activate Reflex Orb. The only coverage Circylla gets is Ghoul-type, but that's more than enough, as Piscine/Avian/Ghoul hits over half of the type chart super-effectively (7/11). Not only that but its Ghoul coverage Unseen Force lowers the foe's Defense by 1, which is pretty useful for wallbreaking. Though critical hits ignore Defense stat changes as well (including drops), and its main damage is from guaranteed critical hits, so it's not as good as it sounds.

Also, I updated the Extreme Roulettemons Tools spreadsheet up to the current slate! Be sure to use this tool to analyze what Pokemon you should pick on your turn!

Bombardier Spray, Caustic Spill, Chaotic Spores, Cognition, Stun Needle, Tornado
1627431939919.png
Dance of Life, Magic Crystals, Nutrition Recovery, Torrential Precision
key: STAB useful
Description: Bloomaiden proves to be a frightening mixed breaker. It boasts the highest Special Attack in the mod, and its Physical Attack isn't too shabby either. It's abilities aren't anything to write home about, but it can run Purifier to avoid getting chipped down by allies that run weather abilities (Graceful Reaction is cool because you can do some fuckery with Chaotic Spores, but that requires the user getting hit, and Bloomaiden is really frail. I guess Magnifying Armor and Scorpion Charm exist but still).
In terms of moves, Bloomaiden has strong moves on both sides. Tree Fall is its strongest STAB despite coming off the lower attacking stat (105 vs 80), and Coral Bash hits Rubyroot and Narwhandal, which resist Plant, along with other Ghoul-types that might come along. While not as strong, Chaotic Spores is Bloomaiden's special STAB of choice. Tornado lets it his Rubyroot and Narwhandal neutrally, and Bombadier Spray and Cognition serve as item removal and slow pivoting, respectfully.
Here, Dance of Life is not used as a sweeping tool, but for wallbreaking, similarly to how some wallbreakers run Swords Dance for when the opponent switches into a wall. Nutrition Recovery heals and lowers defense, which should be fine as Bloomaiden is moving last most of the time.
While Bloomaiden has a ton of tools and strong offensive stats, its slow and frail. Additionally, it has no way to boost its Special Attack, leaving it susceptible to Scorpion Charm.

1627431939919-png.361300
: Parroting, Imitation, Seasonal Shed
Description: Pyritzer is a Special Wallbreaker with a few interesting traits. Haunt Back is a really interesting ability, as before the user faints, it uses the move that defeated it back at the opponent, which could lead to a trade instead of just Pyritzer fainting. Caretaker is situational (as Pyritzer is not a defensive pokemon), and Quill Quiverer is even more so (as Coniferous Terrain can only be set by Rubyroot at the moment). As for its movepool, it lacks a single STAB option (even in status moves), so it has to use Primary Blast as STAB. It has 2 options to boost it's Special Attack (Clean Disc Slice and Technology's Madness), and Seasonal Shed gives it reliable recovery. One of it's main weaknesses is it's low Defense, but Parroting could be used to copy the defense of something like Frankensloth or Oozeru.

Sonic Hiss, Caustic Spill, Tornado, Mineral Gambit
1627431939919.png
Bandage, Cryptobiosis, Call of the Wild, Divide, Aerial Slam

Description: Oeaycea would be a great Physical Wallbreaker and Offensive Pivot. While it has really low bulk, its Speed and decent Attack help make it useful. It also has some cool moves that make it great at its role.

Crustacean Claw -
1627070565166.png
|
1627431926194.png
| 100 BP | 100% Accuracy | If the user goes first, nullifies the target's ability.
This move has a really great synergy with Oeaycea since it is incredibly fast, and would be able to hit with an 100 BP move that nullifies target's abilities.

Slippery Rush -
slime.png
|
1627431926194.png
| 15 BP | 100% Accuracy | Hits two to five times. The user switches out after use.
This move gives Oeaycea the option to pivot and synergizes with Crustacean Claw since it would be able to pivot after nullifying an opponent's ability.

Bark Pecker -
avian.png
|
1627431926194.png
| 70 BP | 100% Accuracy | 100% to lower target's Defense by 1. If user is unburdened, 100% chance to lower target's Defense by 2.
This move really helps Oeaycea hit harder. This allows it to break through walls that would originally be able to take many hits from Oeaycea. What helps balance this out is that Oeaycea doesn't have a lot of longevity with such low defenses, but in some scenarios, for example: a late game where its defensive checks were taken care of by teammates, it could perform well. It would also be able to punish switch-ins through a defense drop with Bark Pecker, and pivot out with Slippery Rush.

Bandage -
artificial.png
|
1627431939919.png
| Heals user's HP by 1/2. Heals by 2/3 is user is bleeding.
This move provides Oeaycea with reliable recovery. It provides it a little more longevity against Pokémon it resists, or Pokémon it takes neutral damage from that have low offenses.

In general, Oeaycea would be a cool Pokémon to use and has some tools that allow it to make progress as a physical wallbreaker despite having mediocre attack.
I saw this really cool 3D render of a flying crustacean while I was to getting inspiration for Oeaycea. Because of moves like Crustacean Claw and Bark Pecker, Oeaycea would be a cross between a bird and a crustacean.

Description: Gobicke is the definition of a glass cannon, decent special attack, physical attack and a super solid speed tier, but then atrocious bulk. With its multiple boosting moves and solid speed tier, it’s specially offensive prowess will be shown, it can chose to run Sinister Proposal or Creepy Crawl as it’s boosting move and despite the lack of stab outside of the universal moves, it can simply nuke using Hive Spirit, this will allow it to fulfill a job as a cleaner, but also fit on offensive teams. It can switch into status moves and spread the chill status using its ability Reparation in conjunction with the Icy Shield. This icy shield set can also use the Chill status for easier setup to potentially sweep, and it has access to the move Frosted Fragments to double up on that synergy. Reparation heavily enhances its ability to switch in and out to do various things despite having very little bulk. It sadly doesn't have much to use Simplify with, but NGas combined with No Guard is probably useful for something, I guess. It also has access to Hydrothermal Eruption to setup Hydrothermal terrain, and hax your opponent using Tidal Strike. It also can offset its awful bulk using petrify against special attackers, and sitting on them using Plasmodium to setup. Its biggest struggle will be keeping up its HP to actually setup and nuke using Hive Spirit, but using its toolbox I think it can be a cool and interesting addition to the metagame.
(additionally it can probably find uses for its multiple trapping moves lmao)

Flavor: The shadow government of the world, Gobicke are a species of tiny lizards that crawl into, and whisper into the brains of their trainers, or just people in the world, Gobicke control all, all hail the Gobicke.

Description: Faunaur has solid physical bulk alongside a good speed tier with 104, while its Special stats leave much to be desired. Its movepool, while having really good moves, lack physical STAB moves, since its only STAB is Kelp Knife, which is a decent move in its own right, but it lacks the immediate strength of other moves and critial hits aren't to rely on. It has Storm Particles has a coverage move against Ghoul-types, but it is really weak and while Whirling Dervish removes the type change from weathers, it isn't a really reliable move to have in your moveset. It has really good Status moves to use, so it will probably utilise more of a support, defensive or bulky offensive role. Its abilities aren't that good either. Focused Rage only works with Ghoul-type moves, but those have either high power or are special, so it can't tank those hits well. I mentioned Whirling Dervish, which is nice, but it doesn't take much advantage of it. Mindfulness is much better, but it only works with Mow Down. To be fair, Mow Down is its strongest physical move, but it doesn't help against its type matchups.
Overall, Faunasaur is a Pokemon with a lot of great traits that are combined with a lot of downfalls. The downfalls make its amazing stats and decent typing more balanced.

Special: Chaotic Spores, Snare Trap, Hydrothermal Eruption, Leaf Blower, Banshee Wail
Status: Jurassic Terrain, Brambles, Exo Secretions, Molt, Upgrade, Seasonal Shed
Description: A setup mon that takes advantage of Crystal Meditation Blast to buff itself up before sweeping. The moveset this will most likely run will be Primary Blast, Chaotic Spores, Crystal Meditation Blast, and Seasonal Shed. It contains setup that deals weak STAB damage, reliable recovery, a STAB option and coverage that allows it to hit everything for at least neutral. What's more, Wonder Armor prevents it from suffering critical hits and secondary effects, making its setup more reliable. However, its effectiveness is offset by its typing, that being the one of the worst defensive typings the meta has to offer. Strong physical breakers can break through before it gets the opportunity to set up, and its low speed makes it vulnerable to stat stealing and removal. If you don't want to run setup, you can run Brambles or Banshee Wail as alternatives.

Description
: The heavy Yanmega made of metal is here. The fast and furious wallbreaker balance by "wow, its STAB sucks" and with that being that it shouldn't even run STAB moves due to CDS being fixed damage move (+ it also raised the useless stats) and Guile Fang is so inaccurate and unreliable, even though I still note it as viable because it's a STAB. At least, it has Fungal Fatigue and Slimy Shot to works with. There's also Tranquilizing Venom which will be 80% accuracy most of the time due to how averagely heavy the meta is.

And with that, the list is complete! There's one thing left to do...

Final Stage - The Finishing Touches
For this slate, anyone is able to go back through the Rejected Pokemon sheet and see what all Pokemon they think could be deserving of a second chance, be it because of a now higher power level or the fact that it was just outdone by something slightly better. I will likely be holding another one of these slates after playtesting if this meta does end up getting coded, so this is not the final chance.

- Please submit a maximum of 3 Pokemon. There's 97 options, and I want everyone to have a chance to get to something they may want.
- You have to submit a name for this Pokemon just like how it worked for the last part of this mod. If you submit something that had a name because it was in an earlier slate, you are allowed to rename it.

Description: Gluedibranch pretty much exists to go fast and hit hard. Shadow Slosh, being the Special Outrage that it is, is insanely strong when used by a 121 SpA 118 Spe mon with STAB. The same can be said about Slime Wave, which is less accurate but doesn't risk copying drops from Scorpion Charm or Gluedibranch's own (fairly useless) Screeching Halt. Stun Needle is fairly interesting here. While being weak, it is a Beast-type Special move that hits Reptile-types SE, and inflicts Chilled. Gluedibranch sadly has little to nothing in the way of utility, but man does it hit like a truck. Also, it's a nudibranch.

Status.png
: Rain Dust, Stand Guard
Description: The weather setter. Dust is really good for a Mineral type pokemon, as it provides a damage and defense boost (to patch up its base 20 defense), as well as a neutrality to Slime. It should use Computer Crash and Excavation as dual STABs, Technology's Madness for setup, and the last slot is for coverage (probably Lizard Breath). The main ability to use is Dust Storm, as Brave Spirit (better Suction Cups) and Thick Skin (Bleed + Priority immunity) are not as useful to Tumblwire as Dust Storm. With a Dust setter in the meta, it can be run with Dust Surfer Arengene.

Special: Diamond Flash, Flop Around The World, Anathetamize, Lizard Breath, Diamond Shot, Hive Spirit
Status: Primal Instinct, Make Mine, Holy Water, Pollutant Emission
key: STAB, useful
Description
: Cartislime is a basic mixed attacker. Hydro Energy and Indigestion are unusable, but Backbone makes the Intimidate item worthless against it, and it can take advantage of Scorpion Charm drop to boost its Attack too. Plus it gets an Attack boost every time a mon gets KO'd.
Primal Instinct is a good momentum tool that boosts the switch-in's crit rate (crits ignore stat drops, very important in this meta). Guile Fang is somewhat situational, but you can punish incoming Pokemon with the Intimidate item by putting them to Sleep. Other good options include Anathetamize, which is a Ghoul-type Gastro Acid+Explosion+Mold Breaker move, and Hive Spirit, which is Arthropod-type Eruption that lowers the foe's SpA. All in all, it has many coverage options, so many of the other moves might also see use.

Frankly, the meta still seems too defensive-oriented to me, with the item that lowers Attack, the hazard that lowers Special Attack, and mediocre damage boosting items. Correct me if I'm wrong, but basically the only three Pokemon that check/counter stat drops are Spirox, Oozeru and Circylla. Circylla's only move that ignores stat drops is the type that Slime is immune to, meaning a defensive Slime type (like the broken Oozeru) is enough to wall it. Oozeru with Twisted Witchcraft also checks stat drops, but it inverts its stats every time they're changed, so it can easily be played around. Spirox with Backbone is niche at best, as it only has 81 base attack. That's where Cartislime comes in.

Description
: Formerly known as Magiquartz. Basically check what readytolose said about it. Horrible stats but great potential as a Beast trapper and Trick Room enabler. Also, when using it as a Trick Room attacker, Stereo Screech is damn useful, because it ignores priority.
