I think Diamond is better in one way, it may seem like a small thing, but it's important to me: (Minor Spoilers!)

In Hakutai Forest and Hakutai mansion (Cut required), Pearl has Ghastly and Misdrevus to pick from, obviously Ghastly is the better choice.
Diamond has Ghastly and Murkrow to catch, which can be on the same team without one overshadowing the other.
My point is that Pearl has two overlapping pokemon where Diamond has two non-overlapping ones. Don't forget that Mafia bird = win.
Other than that there really is no difference between the two. Post-game stuff like T-tar and Mence can be obtained through trades with little trouble.

I'm getting Diamond for T-tar, Scyther/Scizor, Murkrow/Honchkrow, and Rampard.
I still want Pearl for Slowbro, Houndoom, and Muumaji though. Oh well, that's what trading is for.

woaaah man i'd just like to comment that although my vote was for Parukia Pearl, Diamond is up in a landslide (15% more!??!) thats a bit much for two nearly identical games, but you never know -- Truman won the '48 election, so surprises can pop up anywhere.

I'm getting both so I can get my own version exclusives without having to worry about getting screwed on Wifi (that, and my wireless connection is wildly inconsistent and could be shut off at any time).

Diamond will probably be my "clean" file because apparently Diamond is one of the hardest Pokemon games (if not THE hardest Pokemon game) known the man. :p Pearl will be the one I constantly restart and hack the crap out of.

Getting diamond because i always like the blue versions, even tho this blue version happens to be a "red" version...

hmmm... in my opinion... (diamond exclusives on left and pearl on right)

gonna have to go with diamond overall

I decided long ago that I will get Diamond, simply because it think the box looks cooler. As an added bonus, it seems like most of my friends will be getting pearl, although this isn't really important since I will be getting both versions sooner or later (and I already have a japanese Pearl sitting in my bookshelf for glitchtesting/trading/extra TMs purposes). I have to say that I like the pearl exclusives a little better though.

...All this just makes me envious that YOU will be able to play your games on the 22nd while I will have to wait a few more days for my imported copy to arrive T_T

There isn't a both option, which is what I pre-ordered since I really want to be able to reset on my own for what I want.

In the past I always buy the second part first (the Blue of RB, Silver of GS, Sapphire of RS, LG of FRLG) and then buy the other ones later. I guess I'll try to follow that tradition again by beating Pearl first even though I pre-ordered both of them.

oh yeah, i forgot about both. gamestop told me that if i preordered both diamond and pearl then i'd get an extra free something or another, but nooo my friend insisted on pearl and i didn't wanna get diamond.

i like how diamond and pearl are matched though :)

I heard that you get a case for the styli if you pre-order both but that was on the NSider forums and I wouldn't count on anything that is said there. When I pre-ordered mine, they said I'd get the styli but they didn't really seem to know what they were talking about so I'm not sure if I'll get the case with it too.

I hope that they'll have something similar to the Jirachi disc from Colosseum for PBR.

Diamond because Pearl's mascot is a giant dickhead. Also Rampard and I think Weavile along with Garchomp is in it.

*preordered diamond then they didnt have the styluses and took the preorder back today ;[*

Getting diamond because i always like the blue versions, even tho this blue version happens to be a "red" version...

Yea same here. I got Blue 1st gen, then Silver 2nd gen, and Sapphire 3rd gen. I don't want to break my tradition, but Diamond has the pokes I'm looking for =[. Almost everyone will get Diamond just like the other poke games, so I'll lose my uniqueness if I get it. But my little sis is getting Pearl so it's all good =].

Diamond. Between the GTS, my friend with Pearl, and my complete Pokédex in Emerald, I'm not to worried about version exclusives. Dialga's too cool, and it resists everything. :D

Both.

Ever since the first two games (Red and Blue), I've always gotten both games. I would get both games, and the first part of the two games (Red, Gold, Ruby, FireRed), I would pick the fire starter and that would be my main game. Then, I would pick up the second half (Blue, Silver, Sapphire, LeafGreen) and pick the water starter. I would use the second game for trading exclusives to myself (I have a GBA and 2 DS's), and the first game as my main game. At least until the third game in a generation is released that makes the previous two games look weak (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald).

So to keep it simple, Diamond will be my main game, and Pearl will be my secondary game. I've also got a friend that is going to go with the water starter in his game (I believe he got Pearl), so I can go with the grass starter in my pearl.

Plus, I wanted both styluses. Yeah, that makes me somewhat of a collecting nerd. So what...
