Hey all, Raedin here with my first competitive team (It's also my first thread since I joined! Woot!) Anyway, I did a lot of research on the topic, watched a LOT of Wi-Fi battles and tinkered with the setup I currently have for a couple weeks. I haven't won very many matches, but I am chalking that up to my lack of experience. So, here we go:
Blastoise @ Blastoisinite
Modest
Mega Launcher
252SpAtk/252HP/4SpDef
Rapid Spin
Dark Pulse
Water Pulse
Aura Sphere
This was the first Poke I decided on. I love how bulky Blastoise is, and with the introduction of it's Mega it has become one of my favorite Pokemon next to Hitmonchan. It is mainly used to annihilate entry hazards and tank a hit or two while retaliating with Mega Launcher boosted attacks. Very hard hitting, and very hard to take down.
Aegislash @ Leftovers
Quiet
Stance Change
252HP/252SpAtk/4Atk
King's Shield
Flash Cannon
Shadow Ball
Sacred Sword
This one was a bit tough to formulate, since the basic, cookie-cutter version of 'Slash is extremely tempting to use, but very easy to see coming. I opted for Shadow Ball in place of Swords Dance with a Brave nature to get the hard hitting physical smacks without a boost while being able to surprise with a Shadow Ball. I love the typing, and King's Shield is a great check against Physical attackers.
Talonflame @ Life Orb
Adamant
Gale Wings
252Atk/124HP/132Spe
Roost
Swords Dance
Brave Bird
Flare Blitz
Talonflame is one of the 6th Gen Pokemon that truly surprised me with its effectiveness. Priority Brave Bird is a nasty threat, especially once you factor in LO and STAB. Flare Blitz is another obvious attack along with Brave Bird. Initially, I was going to toss Swords Dance on the set, but I went with Bulk Up to maybe help Talonflame tolerate that much more damage. This beast will be my main attacker (Physically).
Klefki @ Light Clay
Bold
Prankster
252HP/252Def/4SpDef
Light Screen
Reflect
Spikes
Foul Play
I HATED this little guy when I first saw him.. Until I saw what he was capable of. Prankster makes him a great lead, setting up Dual Screens or a layer or two of Spikes before it's taken down. It has great defensive typing, and with Foul Play, it will be able to soften up my enemy for it's teammate. It has served me well so far, even though I typically set up Screens before I lay out Spikes.
Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Impish
Natural Cure
252HP/120Def/132Spe
Rest
Will-O-Wisp
Horn Leech
Shadow Claw
Sylveon @ Safety Goggles
Bold
Cute Charm
252HP/252Def/4SpAtk
Wish
Toxic
Protect
Moon Blast
This is the one I had the most trouble deciding on; I actually have found use for it on many occasions, but at the same time I have found myself to be fine without it. It is supposed to be my Wish Passer for when my team needs a good healing. Moon Blast is to give it something to defend itself, especially for when I need to slay a Dragon.
So here is my team, and hopefully someone can give me the advice that I need to make it function better. As previously stated, this is my first competitively built team but do not hesitate to be brutally honest lol Thanks in advance!
