As the title implies, this is my first OU team, so hopefully it isn't a complete trainwreck, which is what I'm trying to avoid before taking it into showdown cause I'm probably missing something huge here... anyways, here goes
Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
The Mega of the team, DD Charizard X can do nasty work on teams once his checks are out of the way. The speed investment lets him outspeed all base 80 pokemon and at +1 outspeeds all non boosted mons and scarfed Lando-T and Excadrill. Rest of the EVs were thrown into Atk for max damage output and the remains into HP.
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 220 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
Excadrill checks a lot of Charizard X's weak points. In the sand, he's one of the fastest pokemon in the meta. My team is very weak to EQ switches so the Air Baloon helps mitigate that. He also doubles as my spinner of choice, desperately needed on this team.
Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Superpower (Knock Off?)
- Waterfall
Banded Azumarill is a very scary pokemon, hitting over 650 Atk after Huge Power and Band boosts. He can OHKO major threats such as Mega Sableye, (Mega-)Tyranitar, Lando-T (after intimidate), etc. and can still make big holes in a bunch of other mons.
Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Ice Beam
TTar helps with setting stones and summoning sand. Smooth Stone helps Excadrill turn into a sweeper and EVs let him survive quite a lot of moves, save for Fighting type. He can still do quite a bit of damage with his STAB moves despite being a defensive pokemon and Ice Beam helps with coverage.
Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- HP fire/ice
A lot of my team is weak to water so Tangrowth helps absorb water type moves. He also walls efficiently Keldeo and is another safe EQ switch in in case the balloon poped. Leaf Storm gives him quite a powerful attack without any investments ans Knock Off helps with his utility.
Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
Mild Nature
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost
As much as I hate legendaries in teams (mostly because I don't have the resources to get them in-game) they do have their uses and Kyu-b is no exception. Extremely strong and gives out great mixed coverage. The set is pretty standard, I decided on Roost over Substitute for personal preference.
