First Post: New to Smogon: Please Rate My OU team

Hi all, this is my first post in Smogon and well I hope to have some input on my team, (witch I HAVE tried and found good but wish to make it better. As anyone here does). I'm truly looking for hard, truthful criticisms (note hard and truthful not mean). The more in depth they are the better.

Anyways now, my team.

The Basic Picture:
This is my team in order, to get a basic picture of it. (Note: Order obviously change as circumstances do.)

Hitting the Truth: Now more in depth about my team, the Pokemon, the moves, the ev's, the reason, the niches and so on. Basically the important part.

s_metagross.png

Starting of, Support Leader

Metagross @ Occa Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EV's: 252 HP/236 Attack/12 Defense/ 10 Speed
Nature: Adament
Moves:
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Bullet Punch
Explosion

This is my Metagross, just as simple as that. Suggested by Franklin to replace my Aerodactyl I was a little skeptical at first of replacing him but it turned out for the best as now Metagross packs a nice heavy punch on most of the common starters, and then some. He doesn't go down easy and while I'm considering swiching the HP EVs to speed as of now he's holding out. :)

suicune.png

Sweeper and Special Defense Wall
Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EV's:252 Defense/252 Special Defense/6 Speed
Nature: Bold
Moves:
Rest
Sleep Talk
Surf
Calm Mind

Meet my beloved Suicune, she (yes I know they're genderless) is the best sweeper I have ever seen and has amazing capabilities that mostly always work. I don't know what made me choose Suicune but I saw her move set on Smogon and thoguht, 'hm she could be annoying...' so I tried her, and after one battle she was set in stone as a member of my team. As I switch into her I do 1 Calm Mind (or simply Surf if it isn't necessary) and I repeat until her HP falls below 60 when I have her use Rest. Then the sleep talking then repeat the process, and after a few times she's ready to sweep whole entire teams with one Surf. With a high Defense stat and a boosted Special there is little to nothing that can take her down. Another thing that contributes to this is I usually play her later into the battle when a lot of the Pokemon are either gone or damaged, so she doesn't have to fight and knock down Pokemon with full HP, something to keep in mind, but it's not always so and she always preforms well.

blissey.png

Defensive Wall and Occasional Sweeper
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability:
Serene Grace
EVs: 252HP/252 Defense/6Special Attack
Nature:
Bold
Moves:
Charge Beam
Ice Beam
Softboild
Aromatherapy

My big, pink, fluffy friend. And yes I know Blissey? Sweeping? Naw.... But it's true. Charge Beam having a 100% chance of raising her special attack with that lovely Serene Grace allows her, in the right cercumstances, to sweep just as well as Suicune does. With the added bonus of Ice Beam Blissey can take down more types and can freeze 30% of the time as well. With Softboiled and Aromatherapy in the mix she can heal herself as often as she wants as well. A nice, deadly combination.

s_gyarados.png

Lure and Physical Attacker
Gyarados @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Attack/252 Speed/6 Defense
Nature:
Jolly
Moves:

Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Waterfall

Besides being a nice Lure for my Electavire, Gyarados poses a treat in his own right. Dragon Dance gives him a nice advantage up if played at the right time and he has quite a few choices in moves and type advantage opportunities. Unfortunately with his not so hot defense Gyarados lasts a limited amount of time on the field without the upper hand of Dragon Dance, but even so does put a noticeably large dent in the time he has, especially with Life Orb witch normally does more good then harm. To the point Gyarados has 3 outcomes; he is an amazing sweeper that takes out a lot if not the whole team, he is a good lure for a thunder type moves, or he dents a few Pokemon but unfortunately faints.

electivire.png

Power House
Electavire @ Leftovers
Ability: Motor Drive
EV's: 252 Speed/252 Attack/6 Defense
Nature: Jolly
Moves: (swapped back to Special Attacker suggested by CrAZyMONkeYZ)
ThunderBolt
Flamethrower
Hidden Power (grass)
Brick Break

As it says Electivire is my teams power house. If Gyarados is able to get in there and lure a thunder attack and he gets his motor drive then he is that much better, but often it's not necessary. Electavire, with his very large type coverage and his amazing speed and attack can take down/harm quite a lot of Pokemon out there. Much like Gyarados though he is one to hit hard and fast and not last as long as some of the others on the team, but he is still important and alows me to be victorious just that many more times.

machamp.png

Choice Banded Offense
Machamp @ Choice Band
Ability: No Guard
EV's: 128 HP/252 Attack/128 Speed
Nature: Adament
Moves:
Ice Punch
Close Combat
Payback
Thunderpunch

Machamp is surprisingly... good. Suggested by Franklin to replace my Togekiss, again I was a bit skeptical but was surprised when Machamp not only pulled his own weight, he sweeped a few teams for me. The Choise Band adding that extra umph, he usually gets stuck using Close Combat and knocking out 2 or 3 Pokemon right then and there. If they have a ghost type or a pesty dragon, I simply switch and then if it comes to it swich back to him and finish them off. Defenatly a good choice thank you for suggesting it :)

Well that is my team, thank you for those who looked at it and gotten this far, and I would love to hear what you think of my team. :) And, like I said the more in depth and full the thoguht is the better but any thoguht or comment is welcome!

Starting of, Support Leader

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EV's: 252 Attack/6 HP/252 Speed
Nature: Jolly
Moves:
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Taunt
Swagger

Suggested by Franklin, while I loved my Aerodactyle, he was countered easily and was delicate and unable to take more then 2 attacks. He got the job of setting up Stealth Rock and often got at least one kill or dents in but not as often as Metagross can.

Metagross (see above for info on him)

Para-Flinch can you get me?
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EV's: 252 HP/252 Special Defense/6 Special Attack
Nature: Calm
Moves:
Air Slash
Thunder Wave
Roost
Aura Sphere

Sigh, Dunsparce's replacement in the OU world. Like I said I fell in love with Dunsparce as I worked on a NU team and I was looking for the final member of my OU team I saw this little cutie. And while Para-Flinch is one of my all time favorite move sets in the game.... Togekiss only stayed a little bit. Suggested by Franklin to replace her (or someone) with Machamp, when I did I noticed Machamp was very good, so I never really got to use Togekiss much... that's ok I guess.

Machamp (see above for info on him)

It's sad to see them go but my team has gotten better, thanks to those who helped. Don't get me wrong more advise is ALWAYS welcome!

Honeslty I don't see the usefulness of swagger over Stone Edge on Aerodactyl. Aero is really frail and Stone Edge provides a lot more type coverage.

yes for aerodactyl put rock slide or stone edge over swagger and put the hp evs into att.
for electivire it may be a good idea to use ice punch over fire punch and thunderbolt over thunder punch but i have little experience with evire so i cant really say.
and on togekiss you want air slash over aerial ace. that will make the paraflinch.

You have a huge electric weakness. Aero, Gyarados, Suicune, and Togekiss all have this weakness. How do you solve it?

First, go Metagross over Aerodactyl, and look at the lead analysis. Not only is Metagross not weak to Electric, but is an awesome lead overall.

Next, go Scarf Starmie / Gengar > Suicune, as you have a lot of problems with Salamence, and Starmie can revenge kill with Ice Beam, or Gengar with HP Ice. Also, Starmie can do a lot with Hydro Pump against Lucario (but extremespeed can OHKO).

Lastly, replace Togekiss with Machamp. Any set is welcome here, Bulk Up, Choice Band, it's all up to you. Tyranitar with a Dragon Dance OWNS this team. Machamp can solve it, and give a nice confusion here and there.

Lastly, switch Electivire to the mixed set. It has a lot more potential then the set you're running now.

Good luck!

@ Conan Edogawa415 thank you I thoguht that's what I had Areodactyl set to... can't believe I didn't notice that, changes have been made.
Also Suicune's EV switch... hm... I can try it I don't know how well it would go, tahnk you though.

@ tallentire Good point, and it's taken into consideration, I can try going back to that. I had him set with Stone Edge a bit ago but he never go to really use it, and I tried him with Swagger and it gave better results, but I can switch it back and se if he's better now..

@ benlarson Yep switched his stats to that, thank you.
As for Electavire I choose Thunder Punch over Bolt simply because his attack is way high over his special attack. And Ice Punch... I could try that, I only use Fire Punch because of the suprisingly high amount of steel/bug types out there. And no one really suspects it on him. (so I've been told)
As for Togekiss yeah I saw that after you pointed it out, I can't believe I over looked that too..... thank you for you're help :)

@ Franklin Yeah I see a lot of Metagross out there I can give it a shoot and see...
As for Starmie I've tried that and it didn't go so hot, I've never tried Gengar that's another possability...
Machamp... ok I see what you're saying about Tyranitar.. I'll give that a shot too..
and Electavire, well I'm trying everything else might as well try that as well. I'll see witch one works more and switch some things around, thanks for you're advise! :)

I'm not sure if you've ever played Shoddybattles but you won't really be getting much sweeping with your Blissy :/
I would recommend using:
Blissy @ Natural Cure with Leftovers
-Wish
-Protect
-Toxic
-Flamethrower

Anyhow I can't really give an in-depth rate atm but good luck! :D

Uh.. even though electivire has higher attack with thunderbolt's higher base power it's actually stronger than thunder punch and also the majority of ou pokemon have higher defense than special defense allowing you to hit them harder

@Kingdust=No you'd be surprised Kingdust, and I have played this before that's how I know it works.
thanks for the suggestion I'll try it out one day!

@CrAZyMONkeYZ= Yeah.. I swapped it back, thank you :)

Just some minor fixes.

Suicune, since you're essentially using the CroCune variant, wants an EV Spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp.Att. The reason for this is because Calm Mind will already boost your Special Defense, and the physical bulk will allow you to tank out hits like Tyranitar's Stone Edge and Lucario's Close Combat.

On Blissey, Charge Beam is rather useless. Although the Special Attack boost seems useful, Blissey's rather low Special Attack makes no use of the boosts. Other Pokemon will basically set up on you as a result. I'd replace Charge Beam with Toxic to at least hit things on the switch with the poison status. Keep Ice Beam as it is your only real way to hit Gengar. Oh, one last thing, change Serene Grace to Natural Cure, as it allows Blissey to take status at anytime.

You've got a rather large Gyarados weakness. After a Dragon Dance, it can basically KO you're entire team. I'd definitely replace Electivire for something that can handle Gyarados. I'd recommend Celebi in that slot, as it can provide for a solid Electric resistance as well that your team would like. 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Speed with a moveset of Grass Knot / Thunder Wave / HP Fire / Recover should suffice as a way to hinder Gyarados with a status, as well as catch incoming Scizors for heavy damage with HP Fire. Wil also help your stall weak of sorts by hitting Forretress and Skarmory somewhat hard.

If you want, you can change Machamp to a RestTalker as suggested by someone to have a dedicated status-absorber. The confusion hax from Dynamic Punch will cause a lot of switches with or without the Choice Band, and the flexibility in moves might be more helpful than the increase in power. As for the second attacking option, Stone Edge or Payback work. I recommend Stone Edge as it hits more things you'd want Machamp to hit.

If your Machamp is always getting revenge killed or becoming set-up fodder, fearing a Close Combat or Bullet Punch from Scizor or Lucario only to switch out and find it Swords Dancing, you can always use this set:

Machamp @ Choice Band
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 204 HP / 208 ATK / 96 DEF
Adamant Nature
~ Dynamic Punch
~ Payback
~ Stone Edge
~ Ice Punch

Can also be a decent "check" To +1 Kingdra without Life Orb, and IMO can dent teams better. You can try it out if you like it - it's all personal preference.

Also, if flexibility an issue, you can use a RestTalk or Substitute Machamp.

Yeah if your using a machamp without any moves w/poor acuracy you should have guts instead of no gaurd or instead replace close combat w/dynamic punch and thunder punch w/stone edge and it still gives you an option to hit gyrados
