XY OU First RMT, be nice :)

Just started thinking about set ups and wanted to use Mhearacross and his huge attack to late game sweep. Added Espeon for the lead ability and to set up dual screens. then to skarmory as a supprot wall to set up tailwind and lay some spikes while still being an offensive option. Added tentacruel as a rapid spinner and to fill special wall hole. Gliscor for coverage, lastly Galvantula for sticky web and strong sp attack.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 Spe
Impish Nature
- Acrobatics
- Fling
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
chose gliscor because needed a coverage pokemon with good defence. Use him to come in and damage hard and run. Has had a little use in my team but a usually comes in on heatran or on dragons and for a hit and run on fighting.

Heracross-Mega @ Heracronite
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
Skill link is my favorite, build my team around supporting MeHera, his coverage and power is too good to miss. Use as a late physical sweeper. So much usefulness is coming in as my final pokemon being set up and sweeping what ever is left.

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 228 HP / 140 Def / 140 Spe
Impish Nature
- Tailwind
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
Needed a physical wall to shift momentum. use him to whirlwind built up threats as he can come into most physical attacks and has good staying power, also use tailwind to set up MeHera. Never had a problem, has limited attack options on my move set but fulls the role and does the job.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 SpD
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Ice Beam
Rapid spinner. Chose because of spinner and sp wall ability, good typing and ability to send out pspikes. Is okay at his job, also has worked switching into pesky dragons or fire to get the kill and run.

Espeon @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Psyshock
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Yawn/Hidden power (fire)
Use as opener because or Magic bounce and to set up double screens. does awesome at his jobs, never know weather to use yawn or Hp fire as Hp gives coverage but yawn can be use to halt a set up or scare of pokemon.

Galvantula @ Life Orb
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Thunder
- Sticky Web
- Volt Switch
Needed an electric pokemon. Use him to set u a sticky web then thunder then run. has been good at setting up the stickyweb but not super effective otherwise.

Yo This is a pretty cool team you got cbattt but there's a couple of small things I would change. I see what your trying with shed shell but I honestly think either leftovers or rocky helmet would benefit skarmory much more. Mega hera and gliscgor can both handle magnezone pretty nicely which I assume is the reason your running it.If your worried about magnezone you could always replace skarmory with heatran he does the same things and can 1 v 1 magnezone plus it helps take fire type attacks for galvantula and mega hera. The only thing your losing with tran is tailwind but if your running dual screens anyway and you have a more bulky team I dont think the lack of tailwind will hurt your team too much.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Toxic

Thanks heaps, i will definitely try it out :)

Hello user cbattt, and welcome to Smogon forums.

Please don't take anything i say personally, i'm just doing my best to point out your team's problems. Your team is actually well thought out, i can see how every pokemon you selected benefits Mega Heracross in some way. However, your strategy has some problems, since you are using some inconsistent pokemon and sets. Galvantula, as you've mentioned yourself, is only good at setting up Sticky Web, and that's about it. Your Gliscor has four attacks and an offensive spread, but Gliscor is best suited as a defensive pokemon, and should run moves like Substitute, Protect, Roost, Taunt, Toxic, Knock Off and Earthquake. Espeon is a fine Dual Screener, but Dual Screens should only be used on Hyper Offense, not a team like this. I actually like Tentacruel in this metagame, since it walls Greninja, Keldeo, and can beat CM Clefable with Acid Spray.

So, while these pokemon do support Heracross in some way, in all actuality, there's a lot of pokemon trying to do different things. Before you build a team, think of a direction you want to take. If you want to build a Sticky Web team, you should focus your whole team on that one strategy. If you want to use Dual Screens Espeon, make sure you have multiple pokemon to take advantage of screens, etc. For example, on the best Sticky Web teams, you're going to see other powerful but slow pokemon, such as Bisharp, Mega Heracross, and probably Specs Keldeo. Bisharp can trap Latios and Latias with Pursuit, which helps Keldeo and Heracross tons. All these pokemon can take advantage of slower opponents to spam powerful attacks. If you're going to use Dual Screens Espeon, you should have multiple fast set up sweepers, like Rock Polish Lando-I, Dragon Dance Dragonite/Zard X, Nasty Plot Thundurus, etc.

This team is going in too many directions. It sets up Tailwind, it sets up Sticky Web, it sets up Screens, but it doesn't have enough pokemon to take advantage of these things. I can tell you're a bright kid, but since you're just starting out, you don't have enough experience to know what works and what doesn't. I can't really suggest any specific changes to your team, since there are too many weaknesses to name, but i will leave you with a potential Sticky Web team. I urge you to test and try new strategies, like a full Sticky Web, or a Hyper Offense team with Screens and lots of set up pokemon. Good luck learning and testing, please message me with any questions you may have about the game.
