Hello, and welcome to my first RMT! A little intro about myself, i have played pokemon since a young kid and have always loved it. up until a year i have only played
the story and then a very limited amount of battles with my friends. but in the past year i have started to play around on pokemon online and pokemon showdown and i
have been struggling, but i am starting to get a bit better. For my first RMT, i thought i would make a rain team, something i always seem to like using. So i put Politoed
along with pokemon i like and also benefit from the rain onto a team and here's the outcome. Lets go!
Politoed w/ Leftovers
Modest Nature
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpDef / 4 SpAtk
-Perish Song
-Scald
-Protect
-Ice Beam
I like this politoed because like all Politoeds, it sets up rain, which about half of my team benefits from in some way. Next, he can prevent the opponent from setting up too
many Calm Minds or DDs etc. using Perish Song, which seems to be alot less common than I have seen in the past. Ice Beam is to take out threats like Hydreigon and walls like Gliscor.
And finally Protect is simply used to scout moves, let a burn do a little bit of damage, or to run off a turn of Perish Song.
Ferrothorn w/ Leftovers
Brave Nature
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Def / 248 SpDef / 8 Atk
-Gyro Ball
-Power Whip
-Leech Seed
-Stealth Rock
Ferrothorn in the rain seems like the only viable way to use him. With his 4x weakness to fire, being in the rain can really save your ferrothorn's behind.
But now to the moves. This set is mostly standard, with gyro ball working well considering the extreme slowness of Ferrothorn combined with a brave nature.
Power Whip, just a strong grass type move to destroy anything doesn't resist it. Leech Seed, heals Ferrothorn up a bit and can force the opponent to switch out.
And Lastly, Ferrothorn is my SR user of the team, using the move mostly when a switch is predictable.
Gengar w/ Life Orb
Timid Nature
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
-Shadow Ball
-Pain Split
-Sludge Bomb/Thunder
-Giga Drain
Gengar has one real purpose. And that is simply to spin block. As long as i can keep up my SRs, I feel pretty confident in almost any battle.
Gengar's moveset is as follows; Shadow Ball has decent power and it is also a STAB move for Gengar. Pain Split seems just like a good way to restore health
while also damaging my opponents. Its been a bit of a debate on what my 3rd move choice is, want to use Sludge Bomb because of the fact it is again one of Gengar's
STAB moves and would be helpful against things like Celebi. But Thunder would be helpful on his moveset because it utilizes the rain making it 100% accurate. But Gengar's
final move I decided would be Giga Drain, which i thought would be useful for taking out threats like Terrakion and also and bulky water types while also healing my Gengar.
Scizor w/ Life Orb
Adamant Nature
Ability: Technician
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 SpDef
-U-Turn
-Pursuit/Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-Swords Dance
Scizor is my main sweeper of this team. I generally send him out on a grass or steel type, then predicting them to switch out, i use a swords dance to raise
my attack, and then scizor is ready to do some work. U-Turn is if i just want to get outta there and still do some damage. Debating on what i want for my second move, whether its
Pursuit or Bullet Punch. I like both because they use Scizor's ability. Both are pretty standard on him. Pursuit trapping would be nice, but the priority Bullet Punch seems useful as well. I'm leaning
more towards Bullet Punch, but i'm not certain yet. Superpower, i mean come on once i have a SD up, nothing is going to want to take a Life Orb Superpower.
Lastly, Swords Dance just to bring up my attack so Scizor can put the beat down on.
Landorus-T w/ Choice Scarf
Naive Nature
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 240 SpDef / 16 SpAtk
-U-Turn
-EarthQuake
-Hidden Power Ice
-Superpower
I really like Landorus-T. He is a force to be reckoned with. He plays no games. Intimidate encourages a switch. U-Turn so i can get outta there and just still do some damage just like Scizor.
EQ so i can hit Heatran and things like that with a hard STAB move. HP Ice just seemed fitting, and Superpower absolutely messes you up.
Porygon-2 w/ Eviolite
Bold Nature
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef
-Ice Beam
-Thunder
-Thunder Wave
-Recover
My Wall of the team. Porygon can take the hits and can deal them out decently as well. When Chandelure or Heatran thinks they can bring the fire on Scizor or Ferrothorn,
I can easily switch Porygon in, Trace the Flash Fire, and absorb the Fire type move. Chandelure can't even touch Porygon with either of its STABs now.Ice Beam can hurt plenty of Pokes hard.
Thunder over Thunderbolt because of the rain. Thunder Wave slows down the speedy Pokes. and Recover to make sure my Porygon lasts a while.
