First UU team.

The UU tier has always been the one I've had more of an interest in, so i wanted to give proper competitive battling a go with my own team.

My battle style is usually to annoy or trick my opponent with various strategies like Toxic Orb Gliscor or SubSeed Ludicolo. Of course, I realise they are parse in the UU tier so that is why I need help perfecting a team!

First came the thought process, and I always think of a suitable lead for my team first...

Bronzong @ Light Clay | Levitiate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD | Relaxed
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

My lead - Bronzong. Depending on my judgement of the other lead Pokémon, I'll either set up Stealth Rock or Dual Screens first. After either or both are in place, I switch out my Brozong, to save it for Gyro Balling or Dual Screening later on in the battle. Obviously Bronzong is wide open to Fire types, so I keep Miltolic on hand to deal with them.

Chandelure @ Leftovers | Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe | Modest
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball

With my Chandelure, I utilise my substitute/pain split combo to not only drag my opponent's HP down, but pull mine back up. This gives me a slight upper hand, and the Speed is really helpful in this strategy too. I chose Flamethrower over Fire Blast solely because I prefer accuracy over power. Shadow Ball, again, is another STAB move and will get rid of any Psychic types that switch in to my Roserade.

350.gif

Miltolic @ Flame Orb | Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe | Modest
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover

Miltolic is amazing on my team. I always find that people try to set up massive status changes against me, and Miltolic comes in and walls, then Hazes their changes away. Scald is there as it is my preferred water move thanks to its secondary effects, while Ice Beam serves to give extra coverage in my team. Marvel Scale has come in hand a lot more than I thought, and Miltolic becomes and absolute tank when burned.

Umbreon @ Leftovers | Syncronise
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD | Relaxed
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic

A generic Umbreon set. This really does wonders for my team, and really further supports my Miltolic, as I always try and keep its HP high as I consider it my main Pokémon. Toxic stalling really helps when my team is hard up on members left standing, and Heal Bell keeps status problems at bay, which can be a real pain for my team, unless you're Miltolic.

468.gif

Togekiss @ Leftovers | Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD | Calm
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Aura Sphere
- Air Slash

I love this set on Togekiss. It get's me by a lot of Rock and Steel walls well and blasts through Grass, Bug and Fighting with ease. Thunder Wave really helps to lower the speeds of faster Pokémon.

424.gif

Ambipom @ Silk Scarf | Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpeD / 252 Spe | Jolly
- Thunder Punch
- Return
- U-Turn
- Low Sweep

Ambipom is definitely an underrated Pokémon in my eyes. Okay, sure, it doesn't have amazing defences, but it has amazing speed and an impressive movepool. Thunder Punch is there as there are no other electric moves in my team anywhere. Low Sweep gets a power boost from Technician and also lowers my opponent's speed. Return gets a boost from silk scarf and U-Turn is there to quickly switch out on arrival of a Fighting type opponent.

Any and all feedback will be taken into account! This is my very first thought out team for UU, and I would greatly like it if people gave me tips and helped me develop as a competitive battler!

Hello! very good team, it seems like, but a couple things:
While I'm not the most genius person in UU, I know my way around a good team. First of all, can you expand a bit more on your pokemon, especially Togekiss? I understand it can be hard, but it truly does save time if you can explain a bit more on a poke or two, and add specific advantages/disadvantages, like what specific pokemon does it blast through, and what pokemon might give it trouble?
But, that's fine. Anyway, I also noticed: Bronzong's entry says it has Rock Slide, but it's set says it has EQ... which is it? and also, for your Chandelure, I'd suggest using Life Orb, since dragging your own HP down will help with the intensity of Pain Split, and possibly go with Timid, to reach max speed, since the drop in power will most likely be acceptable in exchange to speed tie with other nonscarf chandelures, incase your sub isn't up, or to outspeed some other pokemon, maybe?
To add on, for your Kingdra, I'd suggest either putting lefties on it over Lum Berry, (you already have substitute on there,) or using a ChestoResto Set.

Good luck, hoped I helped a bit ^_^
:D

Life orb on ambipom might be better since it boosts all your attacks power not just one. Also thunder punch might not me useful since return would hit harder thunder punch supereffective is like a base 150 and return with max happiness has 102 base and with STAB becomes 153 so it stronger. But its Ur chose this is my opinion.

Thanks for all the feedback, and I have since switched out my Roserade and Kingdra with Umbreon and Miltolic and made Bronzong the lead Pokémon.

Iminyourcloset: It should've been Rock Slide - but it is now Stealth Rock to accommodate its new role in my team. Yeah I really need to expand, however I'm hard up on things to say right now since its like 12:10am, I'm going to fully overhaul the texts tomorrow. I think, for me, the Life Orb has never ever been an item of choice, even of I was trying to drag my own HP down. I'm actually wanting to replace that entire set.

You have put in some good feedback thanks :)

Alex7401: I'm happy with the EV spread it has, it's proving really good and is ripping holes in teams with Specially Defense flying/water types. I have a Silk Scarf on to intensify Return as it is already a strong neutral attack without the Silk Scarf in the first place, it's got me out of many corners.

This is my first legit team rate, so we're both experiencing firsts here. I've played 5th gen UU a lot, and I know it pretty well so I have a lot to say. I hope you take it all into consideration.

Dual Screening is a better strategy for faster teams, teams with offensive power and not much bulk that really capitalize from the defensive boosts. As it is, when you Dual Screen you are sacrificing a valuable team slot without much pressure gain. I'd suggest using the standard tank Bronzong; leftovers, with Stealth Rock, Gyro Ball, Earthquake, and Toxic.

Chandelure @ Leftovers | Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe | Modest
- Substitute

Shadow Ball, again, is another STAB move and will get rid of any Psychic types that switch in to my Roserade.

To be honest, pain split Chandelure is really too slow. Sub Pain Split is great, as long as you're really fast. Your team lacks a Choice Scarf'd Pokemon, which is important for catching faster sweepers. I suggest switching to a Scarf set, change Pain Split and Substitute for Energy Ball and Hidden Power Fighting.

You seem pretty attached to this set, and I'm going to have to ask you to trust me. Passive recovery, recovery you get without doing anything, is very powerful. Thats the reason Roost doesn't change much for Poison Heal Gliscor, it already has amazing passive recovery. Burning your Milotic does the very opposite; every turn you lose a lot of health. While you may wall physical attacks forever and a day, you must find yourself Recovering a lot, and constantly trying to heal. For Marvel Scale abuse, I suggest a Rest/Talk set, which activates Marvel Scale, while not harming you.
Milotic @ Leftovers
248 HP/196 Def/56 Sp Def/8 Spe Calm
Scald
Rest
Sleep Talk
Dragon Tail

Umbreon @ Leftovers | Syncronise
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD | Relaxed
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic

A generic Umbreon set. This really does wonders for my team, and really further supports my Miltolic, as I always try and keep its HP high as I consider it my main Pokémon. Toxic stalling really helps when my team is hard up on members left standing, and Heal Bell keeps status problems at bay, which can be a real pain for my team, unless you're Miltolic.

Standard Umbreon is actually a special wall, it doesn't take physical attacks and a few physical types (Bug, Fighting) well. Make your ev spread 252 HP/4 Def/252 Sp Def Careful. Also, I'd suggest Payback over Toxic because several other members of your team can either Burn or Poison, and he appreciates an attacking move to avoid being complete Taunt bait.

Alright, I'm really going to have to ask you to trust me again. Ambipom isn't shunned because of it's defenses, it's considered bad because it is much weaker than other possible Pokemon, and not very effective in UU. Here is a very similar Pokemon, that is much more effective.
Cinccino @ Choice Band
Skill Link
252 Attack/4 Sp Def/252 Spe Jolly
Tail Slap
Bullet Seed
Rock Blast
U-Turn
While Cinccino has slightly lower attack compared to Ambipom (95 vs 100, not too big a deal), it's attacks are significantly more powerful thanks to skill link giving it 3 base 125 power moves. It can U-turn out of counters and checks to start the game, and makes an excellent late game cleaner, destroying weakened teams easily with STAB Tail Slap and blazing speed.
