Flygon [QC 3/3 GP 2/2]

@Overview--

not scouter-- scout. The word Scout is a noun as well as a verb. Also, you can't really talk about Flygon as a scout without mentioning U-Turn. You should instead say that immunity to spikes and resistance to SR gives Flygon freedom in moving on and off the battle field (or switching in and out of battle).

On the mixed set, I'm not really sure running 252 Speed EVs is all that useful.
I think dropping down to 176 and putting those leftover 80 EVs into Attack is far more beneficial.
It certainly allows Flygon to function as a stronger wallbreaker, as with this spread it 2HKO's all of the top 10 with Stealth Rock and Spikes (or prior damage...) support.
Definitely worth AC mention at least imo.

No don't mention them yet cause if you do, we can't upload this until over three weeks from now, and even though GP will probably take that long, we still "don't know how Flygon interacts with these new threats".

As for the alternative spread on the mixed set... you always need at least 216+ for Darmanitan, so the AC spread should be 40 / 252 / 216 (although I don't think it's necessary).

EDIT: Stone Edge also needs a heavy AC mention on the CB set for its ability to hit Zapdos, Crobat, and Togekiss (and Rotom-H, but that's less relevant) hard without the need to Outrage.

This is being reassigned, as the OP has expressed disinterest in working in C&C any further. If anyone other than Pokemazter wants to pick it up, shoot me a PM.

Ace Emerald is taking over this. I trust you can fix (or redo, if you prefer) the prose so that it makes sense and is in GP checkable condition?

Very sorry for the delay on this analysis. I'm most of the way done, just one more set, OO, and C&C and it's ready to be looked at by QC again, and that should be done tomorrow (I intended to have it done tonight but it needed way more work than I thought, sorry about that RT). Again, sorry for the delay.

Edit: Ready for QC opinion.

You need to expand more on the benefits of using an Adamant nature on CB Flygon. For example, it secures 2HKOes with Outrage against Offensive P2 w/o SR, defensive Slowbro w/ SR, defensive Suicune w/ SR, and has a good chance of OHKOing Choice Band Snorlax. I honestly don't think the Mixed Life Orb set is good enough to be on the analysis, so I'd rather see it moved to OO. The Choice Band set is a far superior wallbreaker, and doesn't rely solely on surprise factor to be effective.

Flygon

[Overview]

Dragon-types have always been a rare sight within the lower tiers, and for a good reason. They are great.their excellence leaving the majority of them in the upper tiers Dragon typing is a strong offensive typing, as the only type that resists it arely, as it only has one resist: Steel-types. Not to mention it has fantastic resistances to manyfour common offensive types such asin Fire-, Water-, Grass-, and Electric-types attacks. As one of the few viable Dragon-types in UU, Flygon immediately holds a niche. It hasFlygon holds a coveted spot of being one of the few viable Dragon-types in UU; it has just enough Speed and Attack to outpace manycommon threats in UU, and deal decent damage when combined with highenough Attack to make use of its high base powered STABS. Flygon can also be versatile, and can run a few different offensive sets. Thanks to Levitate and Ground typing, Flygon is very hazard resistant. This in turn makes moves. Thanks to Levitate and Ground typing, Flygon is immune to Toxic Spikes and Spikes, and resists Stealth Rock, making it a great hit-and-run attacker. Despite all of Flygon's fantastic attributes, it has a few drawbacks. Unlike it's fellow Dragon-type Kingdra, it has no form of boosting its stats outside the mediocre Hone Claws. Defensively, Flygon's mixed typing has a few faults to go with its strengths. While Ground typing gives Flygon a handy immunity to Electric-type attacks and resistance to Rock-type attacks, it also gives Flygon a painful 4x Ice-type weakness and ruins itsids it of Grass-type and Water-type resistances. 80/80/80 defenses are mediocre at best, so while Flygon mayight not be frail, any powerful move can cripple or KO himit. Nonetheless, Flygon is an excellent pokemon and has certainly earned its place in UU's exclusive top 10 clubtop 10 of usage.

move 2: Earthquake
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Fire Punch
item: Choice Band
ability: Levitate
nature: Jolly / Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With a Choice Band equipped, Flygon becomes an excellent wall breaker, as hiits great STAB coverage makes it notoriously hard for Pokemon to switch into him. Outrage is Flygon's most powerful move. With very few resistances, the powerful Dragon-type move can decimate teams, crippling walls and plowing through frailer Pokemon. Earthquake is almost as powerful as Outrage, and it comes with the benefit of hitting almost everything that resists Outrage for Ssuper Eeffective damage. Earthquake can break holes on opposing teams almost as well as Outrage, and without the mandatlocking Flygon in fory 2-3 turns in battle, and without confusion. This means Flygon canor the subsequent confusion—a notable benefit of which is switching out when confronted with dangerous enemy, such as Weavile. U-turn helps keep momentum, as Flygon can back out of battle with a check or counter without taking a turn to switch while your opponent attacksof would be revenge killers, such as Weavile. U-turn helps maintain momentum, allowing Flygon to scout potential switch-ins and switch out of unfavorable matchups, provided the opposing Pokemon is slower. Fire Punch hits Bronzong, the only UU Pokemon to resist both of Flygon's STABs, for Ssuper Eeffective damage. All but the most physically defensive of Bronzong are 2HKO'ed by a Choice Banded Fire Punch. After Bronzong is removed, Flygon can safely spam his powerful STABs.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs on this set are very straight forward. Attack and Speed are maximized, ensuring Flygon hits as hard as it can, and outspeeds as much as it can. The Special Defense prevents Download Pokemon from getting their preferred Special boost. As with many sets, this set faces the eternal question of power or speed when dealing with natures. Flygon's Base 100 Speed makes him faster thanis above that of many Pokemon in the tier, and requires a Jolly nature to be fully effective. However, the power offered by an Adamant nature should always be considered. Adamant secures a 2HKO against Offensive Porygon2 without Stealth Rock damage, a 2HKO against Defensive Slowbro—although Regenerator makes this less significant—and Suicune with Stealth Rock damage, and gives Flygon a good chance to OHKO Choice Band Snorlax.

Although UU Volt-Turn isn't as common as OU, Volt Switch users still pair up well with Flygon. Zapdos and Raikou make fantastic teammates, as both of them can make quick work of Slowbro with their STAB eElectric-type moves, though—however, Raikou is athe better choice, as Zapdos shares an Ice weakness. A successful Flygon is a Flygon with hazard support. Stealth Rock and Spike support will aid Flygon well in cleaning with Flygon. Flygon’s success is often largely dependent on being supported with entry hazards; Spikes and Stealth Rock push targets into Flygon’s OHKO range, and increases the chance of a lategame sweep. Roserade makes a great partner, as it can set up Spikes, destroy bulky Water-types that try to counterheck Flygon, and remove crippling status with aAromatherapy. Magneton is also an exceptional team mate for Flygon. Magneton removes steel-types that Flygon has difficulty dealing with, removing Steel-types for Flygon to spam Outrage, rather than having the need to predict and remove them with Earthquake—Magneton can also remove Bronzong if it is using Magnet Rise, Flygon’s best check. If Magneton is used, Fire Punch loses all purpose, so; Stone Edge becomes a decent alternative to, as it hits Flying-types without usinglocking Flygon into Outrage. Kingdra is a pontent partner for a Double Dragon strategy. Due to the lack of Dragon counters in UU, the damage dealt by both Dragons can often take down the only Steel-type on the opposing team, allowing one Dragon to sweep.

name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Outrage
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: U-Turn
move 4: Fire Punch / Stone Edge
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Levitate
nature: Jolly / Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This is one of the most common Flygon sets you'll encounter, and for awith good reason. With great sSpeed and decent attacking power, Flygon can utilize a Choice Scarf to outspeed a large portion of the tier, while still dealing decent damage. This allows Flygon to not only revenge kill frail sweepers, but to sweep weakened teams himitself. Outrage is the sweeping move. Late game, when the opponents team is weakened and Flygon's counters are gone, Outrage finishes off the opposing team. At this point, Flygon doesn't mind being locked into battle, as his job is to finish it. Earthquake is a better option for the beginning of the match, not only because it doesn't lock Flygon into battle when his counters are at large, but also because it hits most Pokemon switching into Outrage for Super Effective. U-turn allows Flygon to keep up momentum and offensive pressure.Earthquake and Outrage make use of Flygon’s great STABs, hitting most of the tier for at least neutral damage. However, it is generally inadvisable to lock Flygon into Outrage early on, as not only are Pokemon which can survive the move and retaliate likely to be around, but Ice Shard users, such as Weavile, can revenge kill it. Access to U-turn is what allows Flygon to be one of the best sChoice Scarf users in the tier; being able to switch while doing damage is an asset that should never be underestimated. Fire Punch is Flygon's best option for dealing damage to Bronzong, but it cannot even 2HKO the bulky bell. Stone Edge is a decent option, ands it allows Flygon to hit Flying-types without resorting to Outrage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs maximize Attack and Speed, theon this set are identical two stats this set primarily uses, and the Special Defense investment prevents Download Pokemon from getting a Special Boostthat of the Choice Band set, serving identical purposes. The use of a Jolly or Adamant nature depends on your team. Adamant allows Flygon to get a power boost while maintaining good Speed. However,, but misses out on getting the jump on numerous Pokemon. Flygon is in a sensitive Speed tier, and is at risk of being slower than other Base 100 Speed Pokemon using a Choice Scarf, as well as anything faster than Base 90 Speed that uses a Speed boosting nature with a Choice Scarf.any positive-natured Pokemon in excess and inclusive of base 87 at +1 will fail to be outsped. Some notable examples of Pokemon Adamant Choice Scarf Flygon will fail to outspeed are xx, yy, and zz

Entry hazards are even more important to Choice Scarf Flygon, as they make his cleaning jobthis set, as they make Flygon’s job of cleaning up teams much easier. Roserade, again, makes a great partner, due to her ability to set up Spikes and clear crippling status. The ability to counter bulky Water-types is even more valuable for this set, as bulky Water-types are a better counter. Choice Specs; Spikes and Aromatherapy are as useful for this set as they were for the Choice Band one. Moreover, Roserade’s ability to counter bulky Water-types is even more valuable, as they can take Choice Scarf Flygon’s attacks significantly easier than the Choice Bander. Kingdra in, particularly Choice Specs, makes a good partner for this set. Kingdra fires off powerful Draco Meteors that soften up Steel-types, or whatever bulky Pokemon the opposing team has. This eases Flygon's cleaning job. Magneton is another viable teammate, as it can remove Steel-types that block Flygon's sweep, as well as hit bulky Water-types for Super Effective damagecan lure typical switch-ins for Flygon, such as Slowbro, and eliminate them with an extremely powerful Draco Meteor, opening Flygon’s path to clean up.

move 3: Roost
move 4: Fire Punch / Superpower
item: Life orb
ability: Levitate
nature: Jolly / Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

While Flygon is normally seen as a choice user, Life Orb Flygon aims to make use of his good move pool. The ability to swits access to Roost and the lessened need to predict relative to the choice sets. Witch moves allows Flygon to perform as a decent sweeperSpikes down on the opposing field, this set can be very hard to handle without Gligar or Slowbro. Dragon Claw is the preferred Dragon move, as the draw of Life Orb Flygon its ability to switch moves. However, if you're craving more power, Outrage can be used over Dragon Claw. Roost works excellently on Life Orb Flygon, allowing him to heal himself and negate recoil. Superpower can be used over Fire Punch to allow Flygon to get past Porygon2 and Snorlax much easier, but the Defense and Attack drop means Flygon will have to switch out more than usual. Earthquake is Flygon's best STAB move. It allows Flygon to get past most Steel-types, provides great coverage with Dragon Claw, and provides raw power for the setOutrage locks Flygon in, defeating the purpose of not using a choice item; however, Outrage is 50% more powerful than Dragon Claw, and can still be used if the added power is really needed. Roost heals off the Life Orb recoil Flygon is sure to take over the course of the match, and thanks to Flygon being practically impervious to entry hazards, it need not use it every time it switches in. Superpower can be used over Fire Punch to allow Flygon to get past Porygon2 and Snorlax more easily, the Attack and Defense drops will impede Flygon’s ability to stay in, but it can switch around fairly freely anyway. If you are not using Outrage Earthquake is Flygon’s strongest STAB move—and even if you are, its most reliable—, almost perfectly complementing Dragon Claw’s coverage by hitting all Steel-types, except Bronzong, for at least neutral, and often super effective, damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This set has basic EVs: Attack and Speed are maximized. The 4 EVs in Special Defense ensures Download Pokemon like Porygon2 get a physical boost, rather than special. Jolly is the preferred nature due to Flygon's good SpeedPurely physical Flygon should all be using the same EVs, and this set is no exception, having an identical spread to the previous two sets. Jolly is the preferred nature due to Flygon missing out on outspeeding or tying with a significant amount of Pokemon otherwise, but Adamant can provide extra power if desired.

Bulky Arcanine is a great partner, as it can switch into fast Ice-types that force Flygon out of battle. Darmanitan also helps Flygon by checking fast Ice-types, but trades the ability to switch into them as easily for posing a considerable power boost over Arcaniney greater offensive threat. Shaymin and Flygon work very well together, as Shaymin can take out Gligar and bulky Water-types who, such as Slowbro, which give Flygon trouble. Their Life Orb sets compliement each other well, as both sets can regain health to negate recoil, and both Pokemon have decent bulk and defensive typinghaving both reliable recovery and moderate bulk.

[Other Options]

Flygon can tryattempt a mixed Life Orb set, in order to gain surprise KOs. The set uses moderately powerful Special moves in order to cripple or KO physical walls. However, it is outclassed by Choice Band as a wall breaker setas Draco Meteor, even with base 80 Special Attack, will KO Slowbro after an Earthquake, and do extremely heavy damage to Gligar, both prominent Flygon checks. However, with the right prediction, Choice Band Outrage can break everything the mixed set can, with the exception of Gligar. Moreover, the Choice Band set is generally more useful due to its lack of recoil and consistent damage. Crunch can get past certain Ghost-types with Levitate, but is weaker than STAB Outrage. Toxic and, Roost and Dragon Tail can be used in a Sstalling or support sets, but Flygon's defenses are a let down. Dragon Tail could also have use on a support set, but the problem of Flygon's defenses comes up againtoo low for this to be viable. Tailwind can help support teammates, but it peters out too quickly to be effective. Hone claws can be used as a boosting move, but the boost is very weak off ofa +1 boost doesn’t cut it with Flygon's average Attack stat. ThunderPunch can hit Water-types super effectively, but only deals as much damage as neutral STAB Earthquake.

[Checks and Counters]

Bronzong is the standard Flygon counter. Resistant to one STAB, immune to the other, it can take almost every Flygon. Choice Band Flygon can't even guarantee a 2HKO on Bronzong with Fire Punch, but the damage will stack up quickly if Bronzong must continues to switch into that attack. Bronzong can also 2HKO Flygon every time with Gyro Ball after only a swith only minimall Attack investment. Bulky Water-types are effective counterhecks to most Flygon. Flygon's only Ssuper Eeffective move, ThunderPunch, deals less than his STAB Outrage, and most bulky Water-types can handle Flygon's average Attack stat. They all threaten Scald, which can cripple Flygon if they BurnOutrage and Earthquake off of its average Attack stat. They can then respond with Scald, which not only does decent damage, but also threatens a debilitating burn, or with a 4x super effective Ice Beam. However, the Choice Band set caned Outrage will 2HKO Milotic and Blastoise every time with Outragewithout fail, and can 2HKO Suicune and Slowbro with some prior damage. Slowbro makes the best counterheck among bulky Water-types due to Regenerator healing residualSlack Off and Regenerator—should Flygon use U-Turn on a predicted switch to Slowbro—healing racked up damage tohat would otherwise allow Flygon to break past him eventually. However, Choice Band U-turn can deal considerable damage, and force Slowbro out immediately by switching in a counterRegenerator is also useful in allowing Slowbro to switch into Earthquake or Outrage, then switching out immediately to a resist or immunity. However, Choice Band U-turn—possibly in tandem with entry hazard damage—out-damages Regenerator’s healing effect, and Slowbro too, can be worn down. Froslass outspeeds non Choice Scarf sets and OHKO's with Ice Beam. However, Weavile is the prime revenge killer. It can dispose of Flygon locked into battle with Outrage by using Ice Shard, or Pursuit trap a Flygon fleeing Ice Shard. Gligar can take on most variants of Flygon with easeFlygon’s best revenge killer, being able to OHKO it with Ice Shard should it be locked into Outrage, or Pursuit trap a Flygon fleeing Ice Shard. Gligar is not 2HKOed by any of physical Flygon’s moves. It can recover off the damage using Roost, and stall Flygon out by using Toxic. Any Pokemon with reasonable bulk, such as Dusclops, can becomeserve as a check to Flygon. However, the Pokemon must be careful not to take too much residual damage, or it will risk the power of abeing 2HKOed Choice Band set.

there were numerous spacing issues, which diff doesn't show me correcting (strikethroughing a blank space), but you can see them in the c/p version here

okay the main problem with this analysis that it was excessively vague, meaning i had to elaborate on a lot of the descriptions for you; which i shouldn't have to do (i even went around asking on irc for uu information. e.g. RT. specifically mentioned magnezone as a partner for the CB set, yet you included it in the choice scarf one as well. no explanation as to why was given. many pokemon were mentioned as checks, but no reasoning was given other than excessively vague general information alluding to bulk and taking hits.

this is an amcheck btw

edit: another thing, while there aren't strict rules regarding it / him / her when referring to Pokemon you referred to a decidedly feminine Pokemon as both it and her, and referred to a more androgynous pokemon, flygon, consistently with him. i just changed everything to it.

edit 2: also my computer can't use curly apostrophes (at the time anyway, xD) so those need to be replaced with ' sometime (i'll do it after this stamped is checked or some shit)

80 / 80 / 80 defenses are mediocre at best, so while Flygon mayight not be frail, any powerful move can cripple or KO himit. Nonetheless, Flygon is an excellent Pokemon and has certainly earned its place in UU's exclusive top 10 clubtop 10 of usage. I probably won't list usage here as its prone to be changed. Might want to change it to something like "... certainly earned its place as one of UU's top threats."

[SET COMMENTS]

With a Choice Band equipped, Flygon becomes an excellent wall breaker, as hiits great STAB coverage makes it notoriously hard for Pokemon to switch into him. Outrage is Flygon's most powerful move. With very few resistances, the powerful Dragon-type move can decimate teams, crippling denting I wouldn't really say cripple as it doesn't affect the functionality of walls :O walls and plowing through frailer Pokemon. All but the most physically defensive of Bronzong are 2HKO'ed by a Choice Banded-boosted Fire Punch. After Bronzong is removed, Flygon can safely spam his use its powerful STABs without getting easily walled.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs on this set are very straight<no space>forward. Attack and Speed are maximized, ensuring Flygon hits as hard as it can, and outspeeds as much as it can. The Special Defense prevents Download Pokemon from getting their preferred Special Attack boost.

Although UU Volt-Turn VoltTurn in UU isn't as common as in OU, Volt Switch users still pair up well with Flygon. Zapdos and Raikou make fantastic teammates, as both of them can make quick work of Slowbro with their STAB eElectric-type moves, though—;<semicolon> however, Raikou is usually athe better choice, as Zapdos shares an Ice weakness. A successful Flygon is a Flygon with hazard support. Stealth Rock and Spike support will aid Flygon well in cleaning with Flygon.

U-turn allows Flygon to keep up momentum and offensive pressure.Earthquake and Outrage make use of Flygon's great STABs, hitting most of the tier for at least neutral damage. Stone Edge is a decent option,<remove comma> ands it allows Flygon to hit Flying-types without resorting to Outrage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs maximize Attack and Speed, theon this set are identical two stats this set primarily uses, and the Special Defense investment prevents Download Pokemon from getting a Special Boostthat of the Choice Band set, serving identical purposes which is to maximize Attack and Speed while preventing Download from giving a Special Attack boost. The use of a Jolly or Adamant nature depends on your team. Adamant allows Flygon to get a power boost while maintaining good Speed. However,, but misses out on getting the jump on numerous Pokemon. Flygon is in a sensitive Speed tier, and is at risk of being slower than other Base 100 Speed Pokemon using a Choice Scarf, as well as anything faster than Base 90 Speed that uses a Speed boosting nature with a Choice Scarf.any positive-natured Pokemon in excess and inclusive of base 87 Speed and above at +1 will fail to be outsped.
Entry hazards are even more important to Choice Scarf Flygon, as they make his cleaning jobthis set, as they make Flygon's job of cleaning up teams much easier. Once again, Roserade, again, makes a great partner, due to her ability to set up Spikes and clear crippling status. Moreover, Roserade's ability to counter bulky Water-types is even more valuable, as they can take Choice Scarf Flygon's attacks significantly easier than the Choice Bander version. Kingdra in, particularly one with Choice Specs, makes a good partner for this set. Kingdra fires off powerful Draco Meteors that soften up Steel-types, or whatever bulky Pokemon the opposing team has. This eases Flygon's cleaning job. Magneton is another viable teammate, as it can remove Steel-types that block Flygon's sweep, as well as hit bulky Water-types for Super Effective damagecan lure typical switch-ins for Flygon, such as Slowbro, and eliminate them with an extremely powerful Draco Meteor, opening Flygon's path to clean up.

[SET COMMENTS]

While Flygon is normally seen as a Choice item user, Life Orb Flygon aims to make use of his good move pool. Superpower can be used over Fire Punch to allow Flygon to get past Porygon2 and Snorlax more easily, though the Attack and Defense drops will impede Flygon's ability to stay in, but it can switch around fairly freely anyway. If you are not using Outrage,<comma> Earthquake is Flygon's strongest STAB move—and even if you are, its most reliable—, and almost perfectly complements Dragon Claw's coverage by hitting all Steel-types, except Bronzong, for at least neutral, and often super effective, damage.

The EVs on this set are once again self explanatory; it maximizes Attack and Speed while preventing a Special Attack Boost from Download. Jolly is the preferred nature due to Flygon missing out on outspeeding or tying with a significant amount number of Pokemon otherwise, but Adamant can provide extra power if desired. what extra power does Adamant provide :O

Bulky Arcanine is a great partner, as it can switch into fast Ice-types such as Weavile that force Flygon out of battle.

However, with the right prediction, Choice Band Outrage can break defeat everything the mixed set can, with the exception of Gligar. Moreover, the Choice Band set is generally more useful due to its lack of recoil and consistent damage. Crunch can get past certain Ghost-types with Levitate, but is weaker than STAB Outrage. Toxic and, Roost,<comma> and Dragon Tail can be used in a Sstalling or support sets, but Flygon's defenses are a let down. Dragon Tail could also have use on a support set, but the problem of Flygon's defenses comes up againtoo low for this to be viable. Tailwind can help support teammates, but it peters out too quickly to be effective. Hone claws can be used as a boosting move, but the boost is very weak off ofa +1 boost doesn't cut it with Flygon's average Attack stat. ThunderPunch can hit Water-types super effectively, but only deals as much damage as neutral STAB Earthquake.

[Checks and Counters]

Bronzong is the standard Flygon counter. Being resistant to one STAB, and immune to the other, it can take on almost every Flygon. Choice Band Flygon can't even guarantee a 2HKO on Bronzong with Fire Punch, but the damage will stack up quickly if Bronzong must continues to switch into that attack. Bronzong can also 2HKO Flygon every time with Gyro Ball after only a swith only just minimall Attack investment. Bulky Water-types are effective counterhecks to most Flygon. Flygon's only Ssuper Eeffective move, ThunderPunch, deals less than his its STAB Outrage, and most bulky Water-types can handle Flygon's average Attack stat. They all threaten Scald, which can cripple Flygon if they BurnOutrage and Earthquake off of its average Attack stat. They can then respond with Scald, which not only does decent damage, but also threatens a debilitating burn, or with a 4x super effective Ice Beam. However, the Choice Band set caned-boosted Outrage will 2HKO Milotic and Blastoise every time with Outragewithout fail, and can 2HKO Suicune and Slowbro with some prior damage. Slowbro makes the best counterheck among bulky Water-types due to Regenerator healing residualSlack Off and Regenerator—should Flygon use U-turn on a predicted switch to Slowbro—healing racked up damage tohat would otherwise allow Flygon to break get past him it eventually. However, Choice Band U-turn can deal considerable damage, and force Slowbro out immediately by switching in a counterRegenerator is also useful in allowing Slowbro to switch into Earthquake or Outrage, then switching out immediately to a resist or immunity to an appropriate teammate. However, Choice Band U-turn—possibly in tandem with entry hazard damage—out-damages negates Regenerator's healing effect, and Slowbro too, can be worn down. Froslass outspeeds non-<hyphen>Choice Scarf sets and OHKO's OHKOes with Ice Beam. However, Weavile is the prime revenge killer. It can dispose of Flygon locked into battle with Outrage by using Ice Shard, or Pursuit trap a Flygon fleeing Ice Shard. Gligar can take on most variants of Flygon with easeFlygon's best revenge killer, being able to OHKO it with Ice Shard should it be locked into Outrage, or Pursuit trap a Flygon fleeing Ice Shard. Gligar is not 2HKOed by any of physical Flygon's moves. It can recover off the damage using Roost, and stall Flygon out by using Toxic. Any Pokemon with reasonable bulk, such as Dusclops, can becomeserve as a check to Flygon. However, the Pokemon it must be careful not to take too much residual damage, or it will risk the power of abeing 2HKOed by Choice Band set Flygon.
