Personally I would just like to submit some strong defensive/bulky mons, they are powerful but I just feel like there isn't enough bulk for different types in UU, I would like the ability to figure out new cores for teambuilding and maybe some bulky mons of different types may allow different team compositions to be used, I also like the fact that taunt/wallbreaker checks to mons like this may go punished if neglected, so so so so many pokemon in the tier get access to like taunt, encore etc. I think that some extra bulk may be beneficial to the format, although I am still new to the format, I would very much appreciate the opinions of more experiences players in this format so I may be able to adapt these submissions before the slate closes, these could full well be too strong in their current form but I also think that they would all have their place and potential.

Role Justification: Good stat distribution and typing, lacking many weaknesses and resistances and offers a consistent damage output that will often both hit and take neutral damage, it should do this well. I thought a bulky gengar would be a good idea because cursed body is a cool ability and it has more of a chance to shine on a bulkier version of gengar and would have a similar playstyle to Lunala in ubers but with stats and an ability set that are inferior.

Role Justification: This is so good to punish the plethora of U-Turn/Knock Off and priority-using mons in the tier, those moves feel so free to use and for momentum but this mon helps to reduce the impact of those moves and puts a clock on how many opportunities mons have to use these archetypical moves, it should not be overly oppressive as over the course of the match there is an incredibly likely chance this mon will have lost its item so will be relying on leech seed and wish for viable recovery; this mon on paper is a great addition to the format to punish the physical attackers while also still being able to take an above average amount of moves specially. I think that this is a healthy option that doesn't feel unkillable or oppressive to play against, it has plenty of counterplay.

Role Justification: The tier needs thicccc walls, this is a very thicc one, recover, good tying with very complimentary abilities), counter setup sweepers and disrupt teams that don't have taunt on them through toxic/baneful bunker/hazards, teleport as a move is a fairer pivot option than the typical volt-turn that you see, rocky helmet or black sludge is probably the go to on this mon but this format needs chonky mons and this is a very chonky mon, rise of defence!!


Post Veto:
-20 BST Stats, -5 HP, -4 ATK, -7 DEF, -4 SPD. Now Post Veto added +3 DEF, +5 SPA for a +8 BST increase instead, just to give it a little more incentive to be built either more physically or more specially defensive and can potentially offer preferred physical or special offensive coverage options if that is something that is desired for the user, such as using sludge bomb over gunk shot because you prefer the accuracy, niche reasoning like that. The biggest change was the replacement to Limber over Regenerator, harshly reducing this mon's free/passive recovery. It will rely a lot more on sludge/lefties and well-timed recovery so it is a lot weaker to knock off.

Intended Role: Rage Fist Abuser to in theory make Truant fairly usable
Role Justification: Great coverage options, nicely bulky to hopefully make rage fist output a large amount of damage, it can't really take hits from the plethora of Knock Off spammers but it can punish the consistent U-Turn/Volt-Switch spammers and is a nice switch-in to rapid spinners. The idea is that Rage Fist and an improvement to Slaking's typing helps to mitigate the huge downsides of the Truant ability, rage fist from annihilape + slaking's incredible stats should make this pokemon have a place as a bulky physical attacker in the metagame, this mon can be abused by setup sweepers during their extra turns but this mon does have a decent toolkit to alleviate some of these instances. Rage Fist seems like a great compliment to Slaking's high HP and great coverage pool, it also gives a little bit of synergy with staying in and allowing this pokemon to get hit, boosting rage fist, rather than being usually forced to switch out during the truant turn.

Role Justification: Honestly our roster of grounds is pretty good as is rn
But there’s one thing missing and that’s some good speed. Our special attacking grounds are a bit lacking too so I did take this in that direction. Overall this is an extremely versatile mon that fills in needs for fast psychics and grounds alike, has good damage output, good setup, good utility, ok coverage, good bulk, and can do numerous different sets. Just a very good well rounded mon to fill in some meta niches and make use of cool parts of these mons toolkits.

Role Justification: Flame Body is a cool abil to punish all of the Knock off and U-Turn spam over prevalent in the tier. The defensive typing and good movepool helps Swoltres function as a good wall to mons like Brambleshao, Conkelbun, Aromalge, Okiferro, Tentazor, Zoinkazenta, and more. Over all just a really good meta glue, especially on the physdef end, and with a lot of utility, it functions as a good alternative to other poisons, and alleviates the weight of the meta off aromalge’s back.

Role Justification: Pretty nice Special Fairy with a heck ton of utility and a good combination of stats, ability, and movepool. It can basically almost do it all, from hazard setter, defensive pivot with Teleport, can cripple mons with either Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp. Knock Off, and Wish is even an option too. It's got good bulk to sponge hits and decent enough SpA stat with Moonblast and some colorful coverage to not be passive; Trace is also pretty nice as a way to steal some helpful abilities while also switching in to some common threats, while simultaneously removing their items after you've absorbed Knock. Gardeton sets itself from Aromalge by having just a lot more tangible utility and just fitting the bill of an actual utility Fairy more. Aromalge is much more suited as a bulky offensive Fairy-type special attacker, meanwhile Gardeton is very clearly a defensive pivot with hazard setting and key utility options.

Gardeton's lower than ideal physical bulk means it can get muscle past pretty easily from strong Physical Breakers. It also lacks reliable recovery and because of this it can sometimes get worn down easily from hazard setters. It also has a bit of a minor 4MSS depending on the moves it wishes to run to check some of the mons in the meta. Lastly although its SpA is serviceable, its not great and can feel pretty passive sometimes without CM boosts, though Moonblast is generally just a very spammable STAB so there isn't too much of an issue of passivity here.

Role Justification: I REALLY hate late-stage FE mod powercreep. It always happens, as folks sub stronger and stronger mons in order to one-up existing brokens, inevitably outclassing older (and now irrelevant) defensive options. In FE's current state, the meta is incredibly offensive. Other folks are saying the solution is to sub bulkier defensive mons with more utility and reliable recovery, but all that's gonna do is lead to more powercreep. Instead, I propose another option. The biggest issue with the meta right now is unwallable, unpunishable breakers like Brambleshao, Mr. Heat, and Conkelbun, who centralize defensive counterplay to the nth and (especially in the case of Bramble) stifle the viability of otherwise good walls like Lunarunt and Muktaria-Alola. Instead of being a hard counter for Bramble, Weezgar provides an effective revenge killer and way of preventing Bramble from easily healing off chip with Regenerator, while also gaining amazing matchups into Conkelbun, Mr. Heat, and Okiferro thanks to NGas combined with acceptable bulk. That being said, this is an offensive mon first and foremost. Its best sets are going to be Scarf, Specs, NP, and maybe some bulkier WispHex sets, but fat squads are still going to prefer the fatter walls I mentioned earlier, which is the most important aspect of this sub.

However, its Attack may seem weak for other moves despite its good coverage, so you can run a Curse set! However, with all of that in mind, it has a poor defensive typing, is weak to entry hazards, is slow and only decently bulky, and is weak unboosted unless using an Ice-type move. Its strengths are incredible, but its drawbacks are horrific.

Role Justification: A frail lategame cleaner with some promising utility and setup options. Quick Mugging allows combining the effects of offensive high value turns from both Unburden and Magician, but still vulnerable to the counterplay and downsides of both (inherent randomness and unreliability of stealing opposing items, Speed control and forcing a switch).
The high offenses and wide coverage are already strong when you're the fastest mon in the meta, Unburden letting you outrun any scarfer on top of that is scary. I'd remove Unburden effects, or maybe devolve to Braxien if you're sticking with the Unburden/Magician gimmick.

Role Justification: Almost definitely too strong, but I could not resist giving it a chance. The most obvious idea is Stab Techno Blast, with a Download boost and supported by Tinted Lens. However, as a Normal type move its still cannot hit ghost types. Boosting moves are potent, but you cant boost both speed and special attack withought double dance (If we ignore Download). Lack of Swords Dance also makes priority sweeping with Extreme speed a more difficult prospect, considering the relatively low attack stat. Its achilles heel, I would argue, is the low defence: This pokemon practically needs to run Techno Blast, but justifying using both it and Extreme Speed on the same set implies some severe limitations elsewhere. Still an incredibly flexible and powerfull pokemon though, so I wouldent be suprised if this is deemed too strong.
Despite the low stats, tools like Download + TLens, STAB ESpeed, and Shift Gear push this over the line. I'd try to cut the effects of one of those abilities somehow.

Intended Role: Bulky Consistent Damage Output, does offer Utility and Setup Options
Role Justification: Good stat distribution and typing, lacking many weaknesses and resistances and offers a consistent damage output that will often both hit and take neutral damage, it should do this well. I thought a bulky gengar would be a good idea because cursed body is a cool ability and it has more of a chance to shine on a bulkier version of gengar (also, i'm biased because gengar is my favourite pokemon). But it should fit in the format very well, it is definitely not overly powerful and would have a similar playstyle to Lunala in ubers but with stats and an ability set that are inferior.

Quick Summary:
An offensive defender with a large toolkit available, bulk is needed in the meta and cursed body is a cool ability so I tried to maximize the chance to proc it and gain that value. Great supporting movepool and strong neutral special stab options, I think it could be a very healthy mon in the format, the lack of recovery helps to balance the strong typing and stats.
This STAB combo with Plot is basically unwallable, I'd trim the stats.

Role Justification: A ferrothorn inspired creation, fulfils a very similar role as a defensive mon, though doesn't get value from body press or gyro ball like ferrothorn used to, this mon focuses more on punishing sweepers by making them take repeated chip damage, this pokemon does have recovery in the form of leech seed and wish, so speed of recovery is slow. This is a beefy mon that would exist to become an annoyance and hinderance to the metagame of rapid spin, knock off and physical priority moves, I think this would be a strong asset, fire is a common attacking typing in this format so I feel as though after a while the existence of this mon may demand a bit more fire coverage dedicated towards this.

Quick Summary:
This is so good to punish the plethora of U-Turn/Knock Off mons in the tier, those moves feel so free to use and for momentum but this mon helps to reduce the impact of those moves and puts a clock on how many opportunities mons have to use these archetypical moves, it should not be overly oppressive as over the course of the match there is an incredibly likely chance this mon will have lost its item so will be relying on leech seed and wish for viable recovery; this mon on paper is a great addition to the format to punish the physical attackers while also still being able to take an above average amount of moves specially. I think that this is a healthy option that doesn't feel unkillable or oppressive to play against, it has plenty of counterplay.
This very much is just better Ferrothorn, with a better stat spread across the board once you factor in Tablets and crazy new tools like U-Turn and Wish. I'd try to find a way to make the ability not just give Tablet effects, maybe cut stats asw depending on how strong the new abil turns out.

Role Justification: The tier needs thicccc walls, this is a very thicc one, recover, good tying with very complimentary abilities), counter setup sweepers and disrupt teams that don't have taunt on them through toxic/baneful bunker/hazards, teleport as a move is a fairer pivot option than the typical volt-turn that you see, rocky helmet or black sludge is probably the go to on this mon but this format needs chonky mons and this is a very chonky mon, rise of defence!!

Edit: I swapped umbreon for claydol to create a typing that doesn't currently exist in the tier, there are a lot of dark types already, good defensive punish as it resists U-Turn, notable resistances to fighting and fairy are also very nice. A water weakness that is very common typing in the tier, a weakness to psychic and ice to hopefully be abused by the underutilized psychic types in the tier and may be a nice way to add more relevant ice and psychic mons in the tier.

Quick Summary:
Great for defensive play both physically and specially, it does not output any offensive pressure aside for like toxic, but it is a hazard setter and remover that can support the team as something to eat hits and potentially teleport out and gain momentum that way. A nice typing and ability combination for this but it does very much have checks but it should just excel in what it is supposed to do. Stats might be intimidating but I feel as though it is equipped to have success but neither be too strong, setup sweepers and offense are just so strong so personally mons like this should in theory help to shift and dilute some of that strength.
Teleport Regen is absurd on a mon that's already this strong, I think you'd have to cut Regen entirely to make this work.

But there’s one thing missing and that’s some good speed. Our special attacking grounds are a bit lacking too so I did take this in that direction. Overall this is an extremely versatile mon that fills in needs for fast psychics and grounds alike, has good damage output, good setup, good utility, ok coverage, good bulk, and can do numerous different sets. Just a very good well rounded mon to fill in some meta niches and make use of cool parts of these mons toolkits.

Over all just a really good meta glue, especially on the physdef end, and with a lot of utility, it functions as a good alternative to other poisons, and alleviates the weight of the meta off aromalge’s back.

Other than Rest, it has access to Coil strats as well as Iron Defense/Body Press if that's your kinda thing. Also it can set hazards and spread paralysis with Glare to provide some kind of speed control to the team.

Role Justification: As for another weather mon, here’s snow! Light Clay is banned so Veil is most likely unviable sadly. But it still serves as a good wallbreaker with a great STAB combination and coverage. Special is mostly the way to go but you got priority, Close Combat, and Swords Dance on that end. While its typing is bad defensively, the extra bulk from snow (and veil if you really want to use that) allows it take a hit and then slow stance change to fight back. However, it’s still weak to Stealth Rock and has common weaknesses.

Role Justification: I REALLY hate late-stage FE mod powercreep. It always happens, as folks sub stronger and stronger mons in order to one-up existing brokens, inevitably outclassing older (and now irrelevant) defensive options. In FE's current state, the meta is incredibly offensive. Other folks are saying the solution is to sub bulkier defensive mons with more utility and reliable recovery, but all that's gonna do is lead to more powercreep. Instead, I propose another option. The biggest issue with the meta right now is unwallable, unpunishable breakers like Brambleshao, Mr. Heat, and Conkelbun, who centralize defensive counterplay to the nth and (especially in the case of Bramble) stifle the viability of otherwise good walls like Lunarunt and Muktaria-Alola. Instead of being a hard counter for Bramble, Weezgar provides an effective revenge killer and way of preventing Bramble from easily healing off chip with Regenerator, while also gaining amazing matchups into Conkelbun, Mr. Heat, and Okiferro thanks to NGas combined with acceptable bulk. That being said, this is an offensive mon first and foremost. Its best sets are going to be Scarf, Specs, NP, and maybe some bulkier WispHex sets, but fat squads are still going to prefer the fatter walls I mentioned earlier, which is the most important aspect of this sub.

Role Justification: Pretty nice Special Fairy with a heck ton of utility and a good combination of stats, ability, and movepool. It can basically almost do it all, from hazard setter, defensive pivot with Teleport, can cripple mons with either Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp. Knock Off, and Wish is even an option too. It's got good bulk to sponge hits and decent enough SpA stat with Moonblast and some colorful coverage to not be passive; Trace is also pretty nice as a way to steal some helpful abilities while also switching in to some common threats, while simultaneously removing their items after you've absorbed Knock. Gardeton sets itself from Aromalge by having just a lot more tangible utility and just fitting the bill of an actual utility Fairy more. Aromalge is much more suited as a bulky offensive Fairy-type special attacker, meanwhile Gardeton is very clearly a defensive pivot with hazard setting and key utility options.

Gardeton's lower than ideal physical bulk means it can get muscle past pretty easily from strong Physical Breakers. It also lacks reliable recovery and because of this it can sometimes get worn down easily from hazard setters. It also has a bit of a minor 4MSS depending on the moves it wishes to run to check some of the mons in the meta. Lastly although its SpA is serviceable, its not great and can feel pretty passive sometimes without CM boosts, though Moonblast is generally just a very spammable STAB so there isn't too much of an issue of passivity here.

The ability's description was wrong on DH, so instead of fixing our mistake, we are doubling down and matching the wrong description! In all seriousness, removing the boost from being hit supereffectively slightly weakens its damage output without hurting its defensive profile.

Role Justification: Here’s a real viable snow setter! 85/135 physical bulk in combination with snow and reliable recovery is near unbreakable. While its typing isn’t good, Fairy provides enough resistances to be worth it as a wall. If that’s not your cup of tea, it can also be a great wallbreaker with a strong Mountain Gale and great coverage in Body Press, Earthquake, or Wild Charge. With all of that in mind, its typing is still poor and gives it a bad matchup into Steels, even with its coverage. It also suffers from a lack of dual STAB, a Stealth Rock weakness, and middling speed. Its special bulk is especially bad, so why it’s hard to break past on the physical side, any strong special move can bring it down.

Role Justification: A Regen Steel with high HP wish!? Oh no! But it’s paired with the terribly mediocre Normal typing, giving it a fatal 4x weakness. It also has only decent bulk and slow speed to balance it. However, it’s still a Regenerator with lots of Sheer Force coverage, utility such as Knock Off and Stealth Rock, and is a good wish passer with high HP. Regenvest sets are especially quite good with its Sheer Force coverage and access to Knock Off.

Role Justification: Fire/Ghost is a great offensive combo, hitting a lot of relevant mons super-effectively such as Jirabsca, Mr. Heat, and Giracham-Origin. Its high Attack, strong STABs, and access to DD makes it a strong set-up sweeper, especially if it takes advantage of its unique ability. It can also serve as a physical wall with its access to Knock Off, Burning Bulwark, and Morning Sun as well as high bulk. However, it’s not without flaws, as it is slow and often needs two boosts to sweep, is weak to common types, and is vulnerable to all entry hazards. It may struggle to get going, but once it sets up, it’s hard to take down.
