Random Battles Circuit V Info
~Link to circuit spreadsheet~
(Thanks to Chains of Markov and Dark Pulse!)

Welcome to the Gen 1 Random Battle Open! Embrace the nostalgia of familiar faces and crazy mechanics in a Single Elimination best-of-3 series (best-of-5 in Quarterfinals onward). This is the tenth, and final tournament in the Random Battle Circuit V, and one of your last chances to qualify for playoffs!

The winner of the Gen 1 Random Battles Open will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battle room for a month, be inducted into the Random Battles Hall of Fame, and be awarded points for the Random Battles Circuit V. The winner of the Playoffs for the circuit will get a Smogon banner for a full year and their choice of either a custom avatar, a color change, or a disabled name on PS, along with a year-long Room Prize Winner rank.

How does this tour work?

It's simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon Wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format "[Gen 1] Random Battle".
3. The first player to 2 wins (3 for Quarterfinals onward) advances to the next round.
4. Post the links to the replays of your win in this thread.

Please note:

1. Scheduling is strongly preferred to be done publicly on Smogon Walls. Other proof of communication can count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts, but walls are airtight.
2. If you participated in any of the prior tours in the Circuit, and have since changed your Smogon name, please let us know ASAP.
3. You, and I cannot stress this enough, MUST post replays of your wins. Any battles without replays will need to be replayed.

We strongly recommend familiarising yourself with the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines, if you haven’t already. If you have further questions about this tournament or the Random Battle Circuit overall, please don’t hesitate to contact the hosts (Ghostilex, paysa or Dark Pulse) on Smogon. No question is a dumb question! We’re here to help.

Call act round 2 (sorry for the late post mb) My opp hasn't responded proof attached
My interpretation on these screenshots is the following:

1. You both initially agreed to "Saturday or Sunday" at 7pm +5
2. You asked for an earlier time on Friday
3. On Friday night in Electry s timezone, they asked to play "tomorrow" which you agreed to
4. You arrived 30 minutes early on Saturday, and stayed until 30 minutes late. At this point you should have declared act but did not post
5. Electry then showed up 24 hours later, and then claimed act. This act claim was denied due to lack of evidence.
6. You then tried to reschedule, but were not given a response

Based on the fact that Electrys "tomorrow" post was Friday in their timezone, coupled with the fact that many cultures consider the cutoff for "tomorrow" to be sunrise instead of midnight, I believe Saturday to be the correct interpretation of these messages, and therefore I will be granting this retroactive act claim.

New pairing: TheCrownedRaptor vs snom roms

In future, please make sure to claim act before the next round is generated

If electry wishes to appeal this decision, they may do so in this thread

Hello, I showed up on Saturday at the agreed time, something that doesn't appear in your screenshots
1762819265680.png

After checking the entire DM log, I can confirm that Electry was indeed online during the requested time window (beween <t:1762605000:F> and <t:1762612200:t>) and therefore TheCrownedRaptor s act claim is invalid.

Furthermore, the fact that the proof of Electry's presence during the time window was explicitly removed from the screenshots constitutes tampering with evidence in order to gain an undeserved activity win, which will be met with an unsportsmanlike conduct infraction and subsequent disqualification from this tournament.

The original pairing of Electry vs snom roms will be reinstated. (really sorry for the trouble this has caused you snom roms)

Please do not try to lie to hosts, even by omission. You're playing for silly internet points, its not worth it
