Rules
This is a Generation 3 Random Battle tournament
Matches in the first rounds are Best-of-Three (first to two (2) wins), changing to Best-of-Five from quarterfinals onwards)
We strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines
We recommend games are played on the main Pokemon Showdown server. Smogtours is allowed, but if players can’t agree on a server, main is the default option


Please note:
1. All scheduling attempts MUST be done publicly on Smogon Walls. No other proof of communication will count for act calls regarding scheduling attempts.
2. You MUST post replays of your win

Frequently Asked Questions
It’s simple:
1. Contact your opponent on their Smogon wall and decide on a time to battle.
2. Battle each other in the format “[Gen 3] Random Battle”. Make sure to upload your replays between games
3. The first player to 2 wins is the winner! Post in the thread with the replays of your games, and you’ll be awarded the win

Winning a round in this tournament means gaining points equal to your current number of wins (so your 1st win is worth 1 point, 2nd win is worth 2 points, etc). This means, for every round you win, the points will be as follows: 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28, 36, 45

The winner of the Gen 3 Random Battles Open will receive the Room Prize Winner rank and a joinphrase in the Random Battles room for a month, be inducted into the Randbats Hall of Fame, and be awarded points for the Random Battle Circuit V. The winner of the Playoff Round for the circuit will get a Smogon banner for a full year and their choice of either a custom avatar, a color change, or a disabled name on PS, along with a year-long Room Prize Winner rank and joinphrase.

Requesting action (preferably claim so I don’t have to deal with these antics more) for my currently unplayed game against Django (ON MY WALL). I believe handling scheduling in this manner is of poor taste.

I am -7 and they are +1. The times they initially offered were 10am to 5pm their time which corresponds to 2am to 9am my time; too early for me. I requested 11am my time instead, and they said they could not because of dinner time. Then, on two separate occasions they ask to play at 2pm my time with less than 12 hours of heads-up: I plan my days ahead and this is not reasonable for me. I received these messages on the days that I had school, and the other when I HAD to go get my Switch 2 preorder (2.5h commute away) lest I lose it.

Notably, on this Thursday BEFORE 2PM I told them that <12h of heads-up does not work for me, and offered more days I could be available. So either
a) they saw this message and have chosen now NOT to respond to me.
b) they didn’t even GET ON for the time they requested.

They are now likely asleep so now the next time we can attempt to schedule is midday their Saturday. I want to actually make plans this weekend because the weather is beautiful and the last thing I want to do now is make plans with people and then have this person now request a new time with a poor amount of heads-up, and have to reschedule because there is no other way.

Edit: It’s now 7AM Sunday for them and they still have not responded. They have now not been on for over 3 days.
