[Potential Movesets]

BandSect
Genesect @ Choice Band
Ability: Download
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe or 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant or Naughty Nature
- Iron Head
- Extreme Speed
- U-turn
- Explosion / Blaze Kick / Ice Beam

Thanks to the Nature mints allowing Adamant Genesect to run Extreme Speed (technically, anyways), Genesect can finally use a Choice Band set to its full potential. The potential Attack boost from Download combined with Genesect’s Choice Band allows it to hit extremely hard, allowing it to act as a terrifying wallbreaker or revenge killer.

ScarfSect
Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Ice Beam / Extreme Speed
- Extreme Speed / Thunderbolt / Blaze Kick / whatever tf you want honestly

Genesect’s old standby, this set allows it to act as a fantastic late-game cleaner and pivot. U-turn is still the crux of the set, and Iron Head is recommended for Steel STAB, but the rest is entirely up to your discretion. The beauty of Genesect lies in how flexible its coverage is, so even if the sets themselves barely change, you can always find a way to surprise your opponent.

Shift Gear
Genesect @ Life Orb
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe or 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant or Lonely Nature
- Shift Gear
- Iron Head
- Blaze Kick / Ice Beam
- Extreme Speed / Ice Beam

Potentially Genesect’s most dangerous set if not properly accounted for. The Shift Gear set boasts Speed unrivaled by any other Genesect set, and power to match. With the amount of switches Genesect naturally forces, it’s not hard to find opportunities to set up, and after a boost Genesect can easily go to town on a weakened team.

Genesect @ Choice Specs
Ability: Download
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Steel Beam
- Ice Beam

+1 252 SpA Choice Specs Genesect Steel Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 373-439 (52.2 - 61.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252 SpA Choice Specs Genesect Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Toxapex: 306-362 (100.6 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Are we sure U-Turn is the best option on Shift Gear sets? Sure it provides pivot utility throughout the game, but if I'm going for a sweep I'm never going to try and switch out lol. Genesect has so many options in that slot like Blaze Kick, Leech Life, Shadow Claw, Ice Beam, Zen Headbutt for Pex, etc.

Banned deucer.
Tacking onto the post above, Douse Drive sets’ ability to erase the only relatively consistent check in Heatran after chip is something pretty noteworthy

ECSTACY (Genesect) @ Douse Drive
Ability: Download
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shift Gear
- Techno Blast
- Ice Beam/Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower/Ice Beam/literally almost any last 2 moves this thing has too much coverage

I feel like Genesect should always run Shift Gear over Rock Polish now, even on sets with no physical moves. In the past, Genesect needed to be Hasty in order to use Shift Gear, but now because of Nature Mints it can be any nature. The only real downside of running Shift Gear on a fully special set is that you take more damage from Foul Play, but being able to potentially bluff being a physical set is great in matchups against things like Blissey.

Likewise, they should always be shiny to not reveal the lack of Shift Gear or Extreme Speed.

I had done that initially, yet it wouldn't validate. The more I look into it the more it seems like a bug.

Interestingly enough, changing Rock Polish to Shift Gear on the set I posted earlier gets by the validator and allows Genesect to be shiny. I've edited it in into my first post.
