getting into shape

so i weigh about 90 KG, and i want to slim down to about 70 KG. thing is, i don't want to just lose fat, i want to gain muscle as well, but i've heard that lifting weights will stop your bone growth or something.
so what do you think i should do to achieve my goal?
I apologize if i came across as a noob.
 
No, lifiting weights doesn't stop your growth, only in the case where you lift something that is well beyond your capability. I lift 75 kg and do about 20-30 reps every few days and I been growing even faster than usual. Just don't start with something to heavy at first.

Scour the internet for everything and anything. Learn what makes sense to you and don't overload yourself.
