Gliscor (SubPass)

Hey there!

I personally feel that baton passing Gliscor is best used with Sand Veil. Sand Veil combined with substitute allows Gliscor to set up sub on the switch easily and just Swords Dance while the opponent either breaks sub or rages with a miss. With the speed investment, you can scout your opponent and sand veil at the same time. Leftovers would be the item of choice to use, as toxic orb and sand veil would be stupid now ;p Anyways, the name should be changed to something like, SubSD Passing / Sand Veil Pass. Anyways, hope this helps.

Comments: No point in toxic without protect stalling. It doesn't need to hit Rotom-W, so no use in Facade. Finally, taunt isn't needed, in fact, you WANT your opponent to set up hazards / stats while you set up your own so you can baton pass to your partner while they go, "WTF Baton Pass?"

This is a very good set. Things like support Rotom come into Gliscor and this set passes the sub to celebi or something to take the hit and have a sub up (maybe). Also for things like latios coming into earthquake they have to hit you so you can pass into tyranitar so it only has to take one hit before pursuit trapping. Baton pass can also be used like U-turn, especially to gain momentum early on.
A side note is 244 HP is max poison heal, so you could use that and put four more in speed for a speed creep
This set is very good

Shurtugal, I don't think you understand the point of this set. This Gliscor isn't a designated Baton Passer; more of a walling Gliscor that happnes to be able to pass a Substitute. Removing Poison Heal and the subsequent recovery is just going to make it less able to do that, as far as I am concerned. Perhaps mention Leftovers + Sand Veil in AC on a Sand team but emphasise it decreases Gliscor's ability to make substitutes?
Otherwise this looks like a really cool set. Great for getting frail nukes like Staraptor onto the field unscathed. Maytbe mention that this Gliscor appreciated Pokemon that love substitutes and resist its weaknesses? I don't know if that's too obvious but 'free switch to frail Sweeper' and 'Free Sub for something that resists water/ice' seem like they're two seperate uses of this Gliscor (both very cool) so perhaps the writing should indicate that these are different but equally useful roles?

i thought this was my set but ohh well...and yes this set does great with SD lucario...i have a team with it and it sweeps so well :D...and no sand veil would be stupid on this set..the great thing about this one is that u can not only baton pass a sub but also sub toxic stall your opponent...

I'm not being harsh but I think it is you who doesn't understand the point of this set. If Gliscor was meant to wall, it wouldn't have such heavy investment in Speed. Poison Heal big bonus over Sand Veil is not for defensive capability, but the ability to create substitute virtually no cost due to having 25% restored in two turns.

The only Pokemon that can resist ice+water are water-type Pokemon. Thus I beleive the best Pokemon to recieve the Substitute are Gyarados, Starmie, and Cloyster. Gyarados is an especially good receiver if it has intimidate as its ability. Hell, it might be worthwile to hold off on this due to Keldeo's imminent release, it would match Gyrarados in terms of how good a recipient it is due to its nice bulk.

Also Thundur, I would really suggest putting Taunt in the first slash. Skarmory is one of the prime switchin's to Gliscor; not having Taunt makes you suceptible to being phazed all day from not just Skarmory but from other phzaers. Skarmory is in, you set up the Substitute making them stay in thinking it is the standard SubToxic set. Taunt them the proceeding turn as they try to setup Spikes and Pass (Taunt also puts you back to your original health). Really Gliscor is one of the few Baton Passers to get Taunt and to not put it in the first slash would be a shame, especially because of its utility.

Yep seen this set used successfully, and I have used it successfully myself. It can be very effective if its pulled off correctly.

This set looks fine, although I do want to see a big mention of other stat-boosting moves get mentioned for the last moveslot. I want to see Swords Dance and Rock Polish (especially Rock Polish) get quite a decent AC mention. Apart from that,

Sorry to keep you waiting. I actually tested this a while back, though I eventually forgot about it, and I had no idea what to do with the fourth slot. Other boosting moves, however, seem cool like Shrang said, and I'd like the removal of Facade, since that's quite piss weak without +2, even with the Toxic boost by itself. Protect would have been a better option, since that allows Gliscor to scout out attacks, heal, and hen pass to the correct recipient to sponge that incoming attack.

Isn't Facade almost as powerful as EQ? It can't be that bad. Remember that the primary function of this is still defensive, checking threats etc, and it's really good to have something to hit annoying balloon users and levitate pokemon such as Rotom-W.

It's a million times better than Ice Fang, at least, which seems to find its way onto a number of Gliscor sets.

Thanks for the checks, guys. As for the fourth slot, this set has a bunch of options. Protect, Toxic, Taunt, and Facade all work. I'm not really sure what to put as slashed, though. Although I don't really like boosting moves on this set, I will give them an AC mention.

My only concern about this set is that it doesn't outspeed Rotom-W (298) or Lucario (306). I'd give it a Jolly nature so that you can pass off before Rotom-W uses Hydro Pump/HP Ice against you. That Impish nature isn't doing a whole lot, so Jolly should be the main option IMO.

I'd rather have the luxury of knowing I can Baton Pass than an extra handful of defense points that isn't going to help you anyways. What does that extra defense do?

I went through the list of OU, and the only threats I found that got hit harder by Facade and didn't care about Toxic were Breloom / Dragonite (Lum) / Gliscor / Balloon Heatran / Skarmory, (and I guess Lum Virizion). In most of those cases, Ice Fang almost seems better but w/e. I suppose you could give it a mention in AC since personally I would rather use Toxic in most cases (unless you can find a good example that I am missing where you would use Facade)

Although many other Gliscor sets aim to sweep or stall, this set focuses onmore on keeping momentum while still being able to wall common threats. The combination of Substitute and Baton Pass allows Gliscor to pass off the Substitute, whichs and gives the recipient a free switch in, and a possible intact Substitute. Since the set is not expected, especially with the rise in popularity of Toxic stall Gliscorif lucky, an intact Substitute. As this set is not expected, more often than not, your opponent will use a move to hit Gliscor, so Gliscor can for super effective damage, which will give Gliscor the opportunity to Baton Pass to a Pokemon that resists the predicted move, and still have a Subkeep the Substitute intact. This works especially well with set-up Pokemons, as a free turn ofto set-up behind a Substitute is always appreciated.

There are many viable moves to puthave into the fourth slot. Toxic is great foras it cripplinges walls. Taunt is a solid option to shut downprevent pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory and Forretress and to preventfrom setting up entry hazards and phazers from phazing out Gliscor or the Pokemon you chose to Baton Pass to. Finally, Facade is a good option to hit Pokemon with Levitatorse such as Rotom-W for solid damage.

Additional Comments.[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

236 sSpeed EVs allow Gliscor to outspeed neutral nature Lucario, allny Heatran without a choice Scarf, most other Gliscor, and Jolly Mamoswine. 248 HP EVs are used to take minimal damage from Stealth Rock and to take hits well. The remaining EVs are dumped into dDefense to assist that. An alternative spread of 248 HP / 68 Def / 192 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to outspeed max speed Rotom, and max invested neutral natureimum Speed base 100's.

As far as move changes go, Protect, boosting moves, and Ice Fang canall work well in the fourth slot. Protect can be used in the last moveslot as well to pivoto scout around for Choice users, boosting moves such asitem users, Swords Dance and Rock Polish can be used to give the recipient a boost, and Ice Fang can be used to deal with threatsPokemon such as Salamence, and non-Roost DragoniteDragonite without Roost, if they pose a threat to your team.

Good Baton Pass recipients include Pokemon that resist Water-type and Ice-type attacks, as they can easily take the attacks Gliscor attracts with ease, allowing those Pokemon to keep the Substitute intact. Any Pokemon that appreciates coming in without taking any damage, especially frail Pokemon due to. Frail Pokemon are great receivers as theiry lack ofthe ability to take many hits, are great receivers. Sweepers that wouldhits; Pokemon that enjoy having a Substitute for a free turn ofto set-up work as well. Sinceare also good recipients. As this set attracts Rotom-W, Ferrothorn is a good recipient as it can maintain the Substitute and use it as a ticket to set up hazards. If you areGliscor is not running Ice Fang, Ferrothorn can also be Baton Passed to on Landorus's HPidden Power Ice, as it again, will give Ferrothorn a free opportunity to set up hazards as well.

Powerful Water or- and Ice-type attacks will decimate Gliscor whileif it's not behind a Substitute. Skarmory can use Whirlwind the Pokemon Gliscor Baton Passes to, ando phaze the recipient, and there is nothing Gliscor cannot do anything in returnto it outside of Taunt. Finally, Politoed can use Perish Song Gliscor preventing the Baton Passto prevent Gliscor's Substitute recipients from getting more than a few turns before they are forced to switch out (Politoed, along with other bulky waters have to be wary of Toxic, although Politoed can use Rest or Refresh to clear status), however, it needs to be wary of Toxic.

You mentioned walls, frail Pokemon, setup pokemon, Pokemon with Levitate and many others, however, you never gave specific examples. If I were you I would add some to give the analysis a little bit more depth.
