GG Godly Gift

Hey gang, gonna be my first time posting here under my new account/alias (used to go by Mywookiearmy). Been getting back into Godly Gift, my favorite metagame of all time after a hiatus when last gen ended.

With that out of the way, I revive my favorite and best team of all time- Skarm is Unbreakable Stall! Just hit Top 5 on the ladder with it :) it has been performing pretty well! https://pokepast.es/172ee0169e4fc807

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet

Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
The star of the show, Skarmory with 150 base HP is insanely hard to break physically. The set hasn't really changed much, only that Iron Defense has been changed to Whirlwind. Body Press does great damage, Roost is obvious, Spikes for chip damage and Whirlwind to spam hazard damage and phase out threats like Zacian-C. Tera Water to help deal with the common fire and water attackers of the tier, and more importantly helps take on Calyrex-Ice (this will be a common theme going forward).
reuniclus.png

Reuniclus @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Psychic Noise
- Knock Off
- Future Sight
- Psyshock
MY PRIDE AND JOY, while skarm is the star of the team, Atk Slot Reuniclus is MY signature Pokemon. Some lore for those who don't know, this demon I came up with in a desperate attempt to deal with Eternatus before it was banned last generation, and after it got banned I realized this thing still put in an insane amount of work. Hits very hard naturally, Knock Off pressure is amazing, and Future Sight FORCES progress. Stall teams imo that don't have any way of threatening the opposing team offensively are poorly built, and Reuniclus helps us fight back. Oh yeah, it's also insanely naturally bulky on the special side with only an Assault Vest and base stats. Now, you might be asking, WHY ON EARTH would you run Atk instead of Spe??? Well, Knock Off does a shocking amount of damage and can get some surprise KOs, and even chunk mons like Nec Dusk Wing. ALSO, Speed is BAD on Reuniclus, because min speed helps us in the Trick Room matchup. Tera Steel lastly because... idk. Steel is good. I a barely ever Tera it though.
clefable.png

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Stealth Rock
- Moonlight
The glue of the team, Unaware Clef helps force progress with Calm Mind pressure, and deal with enemy setup threats when our other friends can't. Hits hard with MB, sets up Stealth Rocks replacing ye olden days of Flamethrower because Moonblast does the job perfectly well and we don't have room for rocks on Skarm, and... yeah. Tera Steel to help deal with threats that hit Clef for super effective, and Stored Power users.
weezing-galarian.png

Weezing-Galar @ Leftovers
Ability: Neutralizing Gas
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Pain Split
- Toxic
- Strange Steam
This is the slot I cannot for the life of me figure out. For a while I ran the team with Gholdengo in the Speed Slot and it worked... well enough, but I found I absolutely NEEDED hazard removal and couldn't afford Defog on Giratina. Anywho, Weezing-G! Neutralizing Gas is actually kinda big, helps really threaten opposing regen mons with Toxic and Pain Split, removes hazards and... idk. Does Weezing things. They're probably the least important member of the group. Tera Water for the Ho-Oh matchup.
hydrapple.png

Hydrapple @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 248 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Tail
- Earth Power
- Energy Ball
I miss Tangrowth... REGARDLESS, we needed a good specially defensive Grass type Regen mon, so Hydrapple is our answer! This thing actually hits REALLY hard, and with Dragon Tail really helps stop opposing setup mons. HDB over AV because I've found it's still plenty bulky on the special side without one, and having a regen mon that can switch in without being worn down by hazards has been huge. Tera Water is also massive, really helps against so many special threats like Kyurem-W and Kyogre, and 90% of games I find myself Teraing it. It even is physically bulky enough to switch into a decent few physical threats as well. Amazing mon.

giratina-altered.png

Giratina @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 244 SpD / 12 Spe
Careful Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
- Dragon Tail
Lastly, our God, Giratina! The exact same set as before, just with a slight readjustment of Spe IVs. 12 Speed to handle Caly-I, aka always outspeed and Will-O it. Other than that, uh, yeah. It is insanely strong on the special side defensively, slaughters opposing fire types, spin blocks, and... wait... am I missing something here? OH RIGHT, SHADOW SNEAK! Once again for those unaware of my old team from way back, Shadow Sneak is CRUCIAL for this mon, hence why we can't fit Defog. It helps against opposing stall thanks to its MONSTROUS 48PP alongside Giratina's Pressure ability (yes the one instance where the strategy is to PP stall sadly), does alright damage, but more importantly- IT CAN REVENGE KILL SO MANY THINGS. Caly-I live on 1 HP against Skarm? We don't only have a negative Priority move so we can kill it! Kyu-W on 5% after rocks when it just bowled over our Reuniclus? WE REVENGE KILL THAT BABYYYY. It's so fucking strong I swear, please try it. Finally, Tera Fairy for opposing dragons. It's a great defensive typing, what can I say.

And that's the team! Been using it to some incredible success, and I hope you all are able to get out there and make them fear stall again! ;)

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet

Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
252+ Atk Ho-Oh Sacred Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory (150 HP): 204-242 (40.4 - 48%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

+2 252+ Atk Calyrex-Ice Glacial Lance vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory (150 HP): 292-345 (57.9 - 68.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252 Atk Zacian-Crowned Wild Charge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory (150 HP): 186-220 (36.9 - 43.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

holy shit

Posting a team I went 42-12 with as my first serious GG team so advice is appreciated.

Stall Lookalike Balance Setup by Giagantic

:Rotom-wash: Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Hydro Pump
- Nasty Plot
- Pain Split

Rotom-Wash is just great in HP slot having good natural defenses, great typing and ability, as well as being a setup sweeper that can do a surprising amount. Pain Split gives it extended longevity and with Discharge you can fish for paras versus a lot of stuff. Biggest issue with it is into stuff like Eternatus, I've thought of running Poison over Steel to better the MU but ultimately Rotom-Wash still loses it due to pressure. Another idea I've thought of is Tera Blast but I feel like losing out on Pain split is a crying shame and harsh loss.

:Eternatus: Eternatus @ Black Sludge
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Dynamax Cannon
- Flamethrower
- Recover

Eternatus is just a great god with a great statline that has a natural slot for itself (attack) and every other stat being great to decent. I went with bulky fast so it can act more defensively but also have uses as a faster attacker as well as otherwise my team is slow outside of Hydrapple.

:Clefable: Clefable @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight

Unaware Clefable in defensive slot gives it a good upgrade over base and lets it answer setup sweepers effectively. I went covert cloak so if I get into a MU vs a already setup Necrozma Dusk-mane that in tandem with tera fire, I don't get booped by Sunsteel.

:Mandibuzz: Mandibuzz @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 156 SpD / 100 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Nasty Plot
- Defog
- Roost

I wanted to be cheeky so I am running Nasty plot Dark Pulse Mandibuzz who is my second special sponge and hazard clear. I choose default Tera so I have a better match up versus Electrode-Hisui who can dismantle the team with Tera Ice and being useful for any stray psychics as well as boosting the power of Dark Pulse.

:Dondozo: Dondozo @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Liquidation
- Curse
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

It is spdef Dondozo, nothing special, setup curse, rest and sleep talk spam and hopefully win.

:Hydrapple: Hydrapple @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fickle Beam
- Energy Ball
- Earth Power
- Nasty Plot

Hydrapple is a nasty piece of work in GG, having speed and bulk and special attack in spades on top of regenerator lets it take advantage of Life Orb relatively cost free.

Team is fairly straight forward emhpasizing having an answer to as much of the metagame as possible whilst having a bunch of setup options to take advantage of. The biggest problems I find with it are a lack of momentum as it is all manual switching which is a potential source for problems.

Please give advice if you think you can improve it though.
