Golbat (Analysis)

I just noticed... where the hell is Whirlwind? That actually ruins Moxie Honchkrow rather than letting it set up on you (you're not fast enough to Taunt it) while still checking Lilligant and making it easier for Golbat to rack up hazards damage. It's also compatable with Brave Bird for breeding and compatable with Roost and Super Fang for Gen 4 tutor/TM stuff. IMO it deserves a slash next to Taunt, or at very least a sizable AC mention. LOL, two of the biggest suspects in the teir right now get checked by this thing, not to mention tons of other stuff.

EDIT: *facepalms* Fuck me... sorry about that.

You really need to read through things more carefully before posting. Whirlwind has been in AC since day 1.

Golbat

[Overview]

Everything about Golbat just screams defensive Pokemon. Golbat It has a great defensive typing, being 4x resistant to the common Grass-, Fighting-, and Bug-type moves in the tier, as well as being having [or bearing?] immune immunities to both Ground-type moves and Toxic [Consider saying "Poison status" here, as Golbat cannot be poisoned by Sludge Bomb, Toxic Fang, etc. either]. Eviolite boosts Golbat's already decent defenses to great huge levels, and when in conjunction with Roost, Golbat is able to heal any damage it might suffer becomes nigh impossible to kill [Just to combine those two points]. Its A good Speed stat allows Golbat to outspeed outpace [Preference; just sounded a bit redundant] most of the common walls in the tier, being able to Taunting them before they can do much back retaliate. However, Golbat is still suffering suffers from a crippling weakness to the common Psychic-, Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-type moves, which includes Stealth Rock. But However,[Add Comma] this won't stop Golbat, as it's still one of the best checks to Fighting-, Grass-, and Bug-types in the tier, and will easily stop most of them makes for a solid defensive threat.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Brave Bird
move 2: Roost
move 3: Taunt
move 4: Super Fang / Toxic
item: Eviolite
ability: Inner Focus
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

This sets main job is to check to the common Grass-, Fighting-, and Bug-types in the tier, and Golbat does it well. With its great typing and an item in Eviolite, Golbat will take hits with ease. Brave Bird is Golbat's most powerful move at disposal, and is the main to use against these Golbat is supposed to check the main course of action against Fighting-, Grass-, and Bug-types [A seperating sentence there, be specific]. Roost recovers any damage health Golbat might have has lost, while also removing three of its four weaknesses for one turn. However, while roosted, Golbat loses its 4x resistance to Grass-, Fighting-, and Bug-type attacks. [Optional mention of roosts downsides] Taunt will shut down most walls, preventing them to from setting up, spreading status, and or healing themselves. Super Fang is Golbat's best move against Steel-types, such as Ferroseed and Aggron, quickly reducing halving their health. Toxic is another good option to use, inflicting a great status,[Remove Comma] which can make certain Pokemon easier to deal with. However, if you opt to use Toxic, Golbat won't be able to do much against Steel-types.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Haze can be used to remove the opponent's[Add Apostrophe boosts,.[Remove Comma / Add Period] Whirlwind also does this, but forces your opponent out in the process. while Whirlwind can be used to force switches. The listed EVs make give Golbat enough defensive ample defense on both to take the hits supposed to for taking physical and special hits. Golbat can easily survive a +6 Petal Dance from Lilligant, while taking nothing from a Medicham's Hi Jump Kick thrown by Medicham. Grass-type Pokemon, such as Lilligant and Sceptile, make for good teammates, as they will greatly benefit from faster Bug-types being removed, such as Schyther and Accelgor [If you want to keep that bit in, change Schyther to Scyther xD]. Normal- and Rock-type Pokemon, such as Bouffalant and Aggron, hates Fighting-types,[Add Comma] so they really appreciate Golbat's support. Dark-types,[Remove Comma] such as Krookodile,[Remove Comma] will also benefit from the aforementioned Pokemon being removed. Water- and Ground-type Pokemon, such as Kabutops and Claydol, appreciates if faster Grass-types are being removed. If Golbat lacks Toxic, Toxic Spikes support really helps. Qwilfish and Scolipede are the best choices to pair with Golbat, as Qwilfish can check Ice- and Rock-types, while Scolipede can take care of those pesky Psychic-types as well.

[Other Options]

Hypnosis is a viable option for Golbat to use, as putting something to sleep is nice can be greatly beneficial. However, Hypnosis's skay shaky accuracy is off-putting. Confuse Ray is also another status inducing move that can help is an option if you're feeling lucky, but confusion is unreliable overall. Mean Look can be used to trap something Golbat is supposed to check, as well as stopping poisoned opponents from switching. Screech can help Golbat's teammates take down certain defensive behemoths, such as Cofagrigus and Steelix, or force switches. Golbat can also make use of its bulk to set up with Nasty Plot. Thanks to its great resistances, it Golbat has no trouble setting up, but its Speed kinda lets it down, which will often leading to it being KOed before it can do anything. However, if you decide to use it, Golbat can use utilize [Sounds a bit redundant] a set consisting of Air Slash, Hidden Power Ground, and Roost alongside Nasty Plot. Infiltrator is also usable with Nasty Plot.

[Checks and Counters]

Aggron is the number one counter to Zapdos Golbat [While thats very interesting news, lets stick to talking about Golbat, yes?]. Aggron resists Brave Bird, doesn't care much about Super Fang nor Taunt, and is immune to Toxic, while easily KOing Golbat with STAB Head Smash. Though While Golbat is supposed to check Fighting-types, Medicham and Gallade can still beat it with their STAB Psychic-type moves. Both Medicham and Gallade can easily KO Golbat with their STAB Psychic-type moves, However, Medicham can't do anything to Golbat if it's locked into Hi Jump Kick. Golbat can take a Bug Buzz from Galvantula with ease, but a STAB Thunder hurts real bad can be incredibly dangerous. Rotom-F resists Brave Bird, while hitting and can hit hard with Blizzard. Rotom also resists Brave Bird, is also immune to Super Fang, and can hide behind Substitute to avoid Toxic, and then before hitting hard with a STAB Thunderbolt.

Good job!

@SuperJocke Infiltrator is also usable with Nasty Plot. - elaborate?

I'm back with more annoying nitpicks. I think that this should say in the RU tier. It reads kinda awkwardly; you haven't specified which tier, it could mean anything.

I think that sandshrewz has the second GP check, I saw him loitering around this thread earlier.
