PU Golem-Alola mini

uploading =mz

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Golem's niche comes as a check to Steel-type Pokemon, and to be fair, it doesn't do too bad a job at it. However, it isn't viable in PU because there's barely anything for it to trap. There's only a handful of viable Steel-types in PU, meaning there's only a handful of Pokemon that are worth trapping, and most of them carry Ground-type coverage, which Alolan Golem is devastatingly weak to. Even at that, Probopass is for the most part a better trapper due to its superior bulk and utility.

[SET]
name: Trapper
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Fire Punch
move 3: Thunder Punch
move 4: Stone Edge / Explosion
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Magnet Pull
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With a Choice Scarf, Alolan Golem can outspeed almost every viable Steel-type in PU. This allows Alolan Golem to easily come in and revenge kill them with Earthquake or Fire Punch. After all opposing Steel-types are gone, however, Alolan Golem is just another Choice Scarf user without any real niche. Furthermore, Probopass is the better option for a Magnet Pull user due to its ability to effectively utilize moves such as Stealth Rock and Volt Switch, which Alolan Golem cannot do due to its poor special bulk.

There's only a handful of viable Steel-types in PU, meaning there's only a handful of Pokemon that are worth trapping. Since Alolan Golem lacks utility outside of checking Steel-types, this is still your best shot at using it, but honestly, what's the point? (probopass isn't mentioned anywhere in the overview and that's kinda odd seeing as it's your main competition as a magnet pull trapper. you even go into detail about why probopass is better later, so why not just do it here and briefly go over it again later?) (retool the last sentence, ending with a question like that is sorta redundant. keep the beginning part and explain a few more of its downsides, like its lackluster defensive presence.)

[SET]
name: Trapper
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Fire Punch
move 3: Thunder Punch
move 4: Explosion (there really should be some form of rock STAB that's at least slashed with explosion imo, actually hitting stuff like oricorio-e and eelektross without suiciding is important.)
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Magnet Pull
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

With a Choice Scarf, Alolan Golem can outspeed almost every viable Steel-type in PU: the few exceptions are Alolan Dugtrio, offensive Togedemaru, (nitpicky, but specifically choice scarf togedemaru.) and Alolan Sandslash under hail. This allows Alolan Golem to easily come in and revenge-kill them with Earthquake (or Fire Punch in the case of Bronzor). After all opposing Steel-types are gone, however, Alolan Golem is basically useless. Probopass is the better option for a Magnet Pull user due to its better bulk and typing, which allows it to effectively utilize moves such as Stealth Rock and Volt Switch, which Alolan Golem cannot do due to its poor special bulk. (worth mentioning that alolan golem has better offensive presence than probopass.) (probopass also more easily traps steels because of the traits you mention, and alolan golem struggles to fit on teams because of its poor defensive presence too.)

There's only a handful of viable Steel-types in PU, meaning there's only a handful of Pokemon that are worth trapping. (also half of them have ground moves)Even at that, Probopass is for the most part a better trapper due to its superior bulk, typing (whether its typing is better is debatable)and utilty(utility). Since Alolan Golem lacks utility outside of Magnet Pull, this is your best shot at using it anyway, but it's lackluster defensive presence (its physdef is fine)and lack of options for moves(I mean its coverage is also fine) means you're better off using Probopass anyway.(honestly this entire last sentence adds nothing, remove)

(dont specify what each move covers, just say in general "hits steel mons with x and y)After all opposing Steel-types are gone, however, Alolan Golem is basically useless. (talk more about how its only niche is trapping niche rather than just saying its useless)Probopass is the better option for a Magnet Pull user due to its better bulk and typing(again, the typing it debatable), which allows it to effectively utilize moves such as Stealth Rock and Volt Switch, which Alolan Golem cannot do due to its poor special bulk. While Alolan Golem does have a small niche in that it has better offensive presence than Probopass, its lacking defensive presence means that it struggles to fit onto teams.(I mean golem has fine physdef, and u already mentioned the spedef, so remove)
