[OVERVIEW]
Goomy has access to the ability Sap Sipper, which might look appealing to use to soak up Grass-type attacks from the likes of Foongus and Snivy; however, outside of checking Grass-types, it fails to do anything else because it has no reliable recovery options and a poor Special Attack stat. Despite having Sap Sipper, Goomy is outclassed by other Grass-type checks like Vullaby, Pawniard, and Foongus because of their better offensive stats, their bulk, typings, and utility beyond simply checking Grass-types.

[SET]
name: Sap Sipper
move 1: Dragon Pulse
move 2: Sludge Wave / Hidden Power Fire
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
item: Eviolite
ability: Sap Sipper
nature: Bold
evs: 76 HP / 236 Def / 156 SpD / 40 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
This set attempts to take advantage of Goomy's ability Sap Sipper to come in on Grass-type attacks like Foongus' Spore. However, outside of checking Grass-types, Goomy is unable to threaten Pokemon because of its low Special Attack stat and gives away momentum to the opponent because of its low Speed stat. It is outclassed by other Pokemon that commonly check Grass-types such as Vullaby and Gastly as both have better typings and more offensive attacks.

tl;r:
  • gooey -> sap sipper
  • draco is bad
  • overhaul overview to reflect these changes
  • redo set comments since it doesn't reflect goomy's niche any more
I'm pretty sure that goomey should be a sap sipper set, and generally speaking should not be running draco. beyond that I'm not too sure what it should be running, but since it would make a sturdy Snivy check, Foongus check, and Chespin check I feel like that ought to be the desired set. I could not find any real explanation in our ORAS threads (we had a goomy revamp lol) about why Gooey is good. I really don't understand what Gooey is meant to accomplish strategically, given that a pure Dragon is more or less inclined to switch into special attackers (foongus, mini pex, snivy, a hydro pump or two ig). I'm literally unable to justify the XY set as it is, and in a meta where grasses are a bit better, I'm not able to justify a similar set for SM.

Ponyta is of course something which hates you lowering its Speed (everything it runs is a contact move) but i'm not sure that's as good as being a robust grass check and common pivot, esp since Ponyta can just switch out and then goomy gets 2HKOed if you did not hard Rest (and clicking Rest makes you more or less just force Ponyta out and then have a passive mon for the rest of the game.) Goomy more or less beats Ponyta just as effectively without Gooey as well, making this only a small perk. Not running Gooey also means you aren't just making Pawniard super strong, which is nice since Pawniard is a top 3 pokemon.

Lastly, this more or less necessitates an overhaul of your pseudo. Goomy will compete more directly with Vulla, Pawn, Foongus as a non-traditional check to Grass-types. Goomy's major downside is being passive and weak, and despite objectively being a better check to Grasses, that niche is rather lackluster overall, especially considering the aforementioned Pokemon are so good in and of themselves.

fix this sentence: However, with having no good recovery hinders it as well as its low Speical Attack stat.
idk what you want to say exactly

[OVERVIEW]
Would recommend you remove the Chespin mention and just leave it as Snivy and Foongus. "it fails to hit back effectively because of its poor Special Attack stat." Replace this with something that mentions its lack of reliable recovery and low Special Attack.

[SET]
I'm not thrilled with how utterly this is walled by Steel-types, particularly Ferroseed who is a Grass-type you'd like your Grass answer to check. Slash HP Fire after Sludge Wave and increase the Speed EVs to 40.

[SET COMMENTS]
Honestly the issue is not that Goomy struggles to effectively counter Grass-types. It does that one single role extremely well. The issue is that it so hyper specialized that it completely gives up momentum and is useless outside that role. Replace the second sentence entirely to explain how Goomy completely gives away momentum to the opponent and is useless outside of countering Grass-types.

it doesn't really matter but Fiend's name is capitalized

Want to give this another look after you implement this, so no QC 2 yet.

[OVERVIEW]
Specify that its lack of reliable recovery and low SpA aren't an issue for checking grasses, but the issue is that Goomy has absolutely no utility outside of checking Grass-types because of these things.

[SET]
this is fine

[SET COMMENTS]
GP thing: instead of "its ability" say "Goomy's ability" in the first sentence. Second sentence is phrased badly, Goomy's speed is less important than its inability to threaten the opponent.
